  1. You don't welcome fresh new faces with something new to share?
  2. Excellent idea. We are in the process of seeing if we can get Sales to do an email blast to their dealership network. Travis
  3. Here it is folks, the preliminary list of items for the upcoming eBay Auctions. I have attached it here as a pdf file, you can also go to a link here http://klipschmuseum.org/sale/KlipschMuseumSale.pdf The first set of items will be extensively photographed at the end of the month with vastly expanded descriptions. On some items, where ethically possible, provinces will be provided establishing the direct history to PWK. More to come. Travis Preliminary Item List.pdf
  4. I dictated it Gil and it came out, well I have changed it just the same. I am very interested in The Historian's response. I am betting he pulls a rabbit out of his hat and has a mind blowing answer. Travis
  5. Gil, that is quite a question, one that may put Mr. Hunter to task. I have forwarded that question to him for a response. A question as specific as yours, and as technical, may evoke one of 3 responses from Mr. Hunter: 1. He has digitized this information, he knows the answer, and has other information from other sources that expound on your question. 2. He will need time to get you a full and complete response. One thing I know from observing The Historian is that he epitomizes the word historian. He will not guess, he doesn't add spin, and he won't try and guild the Lily. If he partially knows the answer he tends to wants to get the full answer before giving a response. 3. He doesn't know, and he doesn't have another source to try to find the answer. If he doesn't know, and if there is no real way of knowing, he will say that unfortunately the records (so far) are not available to answer the question. He has scanned literally thousands upon thousands of paper documents and indexed them. At the last Pilgrimage he gave a 2 hours slide show "sneak preview" of documents he had discovered in his excavations such as a letter from PWK to the President of the United States (don't quote me, I believe it was LBJ) complaining about Daylight Savings Time. As you have mentioned, The Historian is the one person I know that could even approach giving that question an answer it deserves. Travis
  6. We should have a list up tomorrow in at least PDF format. The initial list will have one photo, and a very brief description. KHMA people will be working on a more detailed list with additional photos in the coming weeks. Travis
  7. As far as the research on the price of the gear, some of it is ascertainable from completed listings on eBay, however, some of it isn't at all. Some of it is one of a kind, or things that only come up once a decade, and eBay keeps limiting the amount of time you can go back to look at completed listings to come up with research on prices. An initial list of items should be up tomorrow for everyone to look at so they can provide input on any items. With regard to selling directly on the forums, we certainly agreed with you, that Klipsch could probably net a higher amount on some items by more of a direct sale to forum members on items that had a an easily ascertainable value. However, Klipsch is part of a publicly traded company and so there is more red tape to comply with both in making sales of any items available to the entire "public" and from an accounting standpoint. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to comply with all of that without going through some type of public auction. In any event, we were very glad when they offered the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association, Inc. (KHMA) a percentage of the proceeds from the sale to help us get the museum off the ground and running when they take over the building and property before the end of the year. We are assisting in the sale and will obviously do everything we can to get the word out to everyone that has an interest in antique phonographs, radios, drivers, horns, etc. so that we can give the KHMA a strong footing to ensure that all of the Klipsch spearkers and other artificats have a safe and secure spot long into the future. 8. Rare Close Encounter of Venus & Jupiter Tonight Won't Happen Again Until 2065 http://flip.it/C1T_ZO Tonight right after sunset
  9. That is my understanding. It used to be if the outside compressor went out you could replace just that piece. You will no longer be able to do that, and pretty much can't do it now unless you have a very common compressor unit. Plus, you would need to add 5 to 10 lbs of R22 and that is going to be another 100 to 1000 for that alone, and will continue to rise. They are supposed to be making a replacement for the R22 so you supposedly will be able to recharge your system after 2020, but it is going to be more and more expensive.
  10. How come you didn't snap photos of those great KLIPSCH speakers in there and post an in your Klipsch sightings thread?
  11. I recently received a mysterious priority mail package from Maryland. Inside was an even more mysterious plain brown box taped up with plain brown tape. Brought it home and the dogs started smelling it and went crazy. Turns out the Boss MKP and Mr. MOP send me a nice big bag of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. Brought out the grinder and making an awesome cup of coffee this morning. Thank you so much Boss. Travis
  12. Wait, wait, wait. The Freon for the old unit you are replacing is $50 a lb correct? It is an old R22 system? The refrigerant for the new system should be 410A and is about $7 a lb. They stopped making R22 systems in 2010, and R22 will no longer be available after 2020 which is why it is going through roof right now, it is being stockpiled. That is an exceptional price for a 3.5 ton unit (assuming it is R410A). You might ask him how much to go to 16 SEER, it would probably get you a $500 rebate and a $300 tax credit if you can get certificate with your current furnace/air handler which is sometimes not possible. 14. What size unit and how much was it. I have to replace a 2 ton
  15. That sure looks like fun. I used to do a lot of that in my younger days.
  16. Picking up football equipment, pads, pants, helmet, that time of year again. Watching 150 kids go through the maze of getting everything to fit right with a Cafe Americano.
  17. I haven't seen a bottle of Galliano in years.
  18. Coalter knows all about these rock cruises, he has been on several. They have many different kinds. Classic, Progressive, Jazz, blues, etc. I recall him posting here and there about his experiences.
  19. Where is that? What are they making? Who the heck snuck you in there?
  20. NBC is in Brazil's back pocket. They should be outraged, and covering the numerous police armed robberies that occur regularly there. They have a police force of 85,000 for the Olympics, what does that tell you. They are afraid to dig into the crime because they don't want to be detaing. They are trying to make it to closing night without an incident. How much reporting did they do on the boxing judges and referees being sent home for irregularities and "not up to standards" on several fights. No results will be overturned. How on earth did they end up there?
  21. It is just the seeds, and nobody eats the seeds.
