  1. Neither time did I take the test did it come up with anything near Texas. It is based on about 15 years of research done by a Harvard professor, of linguistics I believe.
  2. Took it first time, completely wrong, East Coast, never lived there but spent summers there and spent a year getting a post-graduate degree. Took it again trying to use words we used as kids, a lot closer, central valley of California. The best quiz I have ever taken on the internet. Travis
  3. Here is a couple if youtube clips of Redbull car in downtown Austin https://youtu.be/sFw0W13aoBw https://youtu.be/gWP1uVUMXyg
  4. About 17 million to be the main sponsor of an Indy Car for the season. That includes the cost of the space to set up your tent to display all of your wares in the Fan Zone, but doesn't include the costs of sending your people to every race, giveaways, hospitality suites, booze, spokesmodels, etc., etc. All of this came to light in last years fight over the National Guard sponsorship switiching from Panther Racing to Rahal Letterman Lanigan. Panther filed an objection with the GAO and all the fine details came to light. In 2013 the total operating budget to run an Indy Car was 15 million, including car, engines, driver salary, everything. To run one car in F1 is about 31 times that amount. F1 cars have to be hybrids in order to compete, I would think that part of the sound difference is that a certain percentage of their power comes from electric energy, which is probably also related to the rev limiting Gilbert mentioned. They bring one down to Congress Avenue every year a day or two before the race and fire it up and run it up and down the street, it is still plenty loud. There doesn't appear to be any shortage of money in F1 even with their muffled sound. Of course Bose is sponsoring the in-ear audio plugs the Mercedes drivers wear. They get a tiny sticker on the car and about a 1" x 3" patch on the upper shoulder of the driver's racing suit. Now isn't an exhaust pipe a type of horn?
  5. That is certainky true also Eldon, looks like 4 to 6 weeks to know for sure what was in him.
  6. White Bird Saw them in San Fransisco, have both LPs and It's A neautiful Day on prerorded R2R. One of my all time favorites. A true tragedy with their management, I think they would have been bigger than Fleetwood Mac.
  7. There are fights in EVERY estate, the issues are just different. The more you plan, the less risk there is of that. The highest risk of fighting occurs when there is a family business involved. Riley B. King, Inc. was a family business. You can disinherit children in every state except one. Plan accordingly. You have the right to skip your kids and give to your grandkids, even unborn ones, but you cannot go much beyond that without violating the Rule Against Perpetuities, so plan accordingly. You want to be buried, not cremated, plan accordingly. Anyone can raise a ruckus after you are gone, but with proper planning, they are going to be out of court quickly. There are pros and cons with every plan, a good lawyer will explain the pros and cons to you, whether to do a will, revocable trust, irrevocable trust, etc. Travis
  8. Another reason to have good estate planning in place. The probate commissioner and judge are excellent in Las Vegas, they will sort that all out pretty quickly if he had good planning in place. Travis
  9. Steve, Great to hear from you. Congratulations on the healthy living. Your post brought back many happy memories if Strathmore, Holst's, The Planets with you, Thebes, LarryC, Mike Lindsey, Gary, Michael, et al. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/87622-the-planets-at-strathmore-and-md-dc-va-tubes-and-klipsch/?hl=strathmore Anyone have photos if that by the way? If you ever get a chance to go to a concert with LarryC at the Strathmore, by all means go. The only thing that comes close is a great opera at TKC or the Met. Oh, and seeing Jethro Tull live there in the front row with Gary. Travis

  11. Actually edit away, it is about the only post I have without any spelling or grammatical errors, I figured you just cleaned it up.
  12. That was very interesting history about the song, and very moving performance.
  13. I cooked two sacks of Louisiana crawfish yesterday for friends and family. Had, Monaco GP recorded and played that, and watched THE 500. The skys parted, the Sun came down, and it was a beautiful day after 12 straight days of rain. Today, relaxing and enjoying the day. Re-reading The Naked and the Dead. Travis
  14. This is as far as I can get without losing it. Thank you for that revealing story. WVU: God bless your Son. Travis Edit: P.S.: Truly outstanding performance
  15. That brings back memories, but no military school for me, my parents friends lost a lot of kids in the previous "conflict" so maybe it was a bit of different time. Here are some of my favorite spots:
  16. From Wkipedia: Nash's adviser and former CIT professor Richard Duffin wrote a letter of recommendation for graduate school consisting of a single sentence: "This man is a genius."[8] Nash was accepted by Harvard University, but the chairman of the mathematics department of Princeton, Solomon Lefschetz, offered him the John S. Kennedy fellowship, which was enough to convince Nash that Princeton valued him more.[9] Nash also considered Princeton more favorably because of its location closer to his family in Bluefield.[7] He went to Princeton, where he worked on his equilibrium theory, later known as the Nash equilibrium.
  17. A TRUE genius. Did anyone read the book A Beautiful Mind? I always wanted to but have not heard any thoughts on it. I really liked the movie. Travis
  18. Here is an article about the classic case of the childhood genius delusion of parants. This kid lived near us, and one day he is on 60 minutes. When I spoke to him I always thought him to have had great memory, way above average, but as far as independant analytical thought, I really didn't think he had anything beyond what other kids his age had. It was all his dad, it was his Dad's career to promte this kid as a genius. Very, very sad. However, it is just as bad with sports, and a whole host of other things where hucksters aim to seperate delusional parents from their money. Travis http://www.cbsnews.com/news/what-price-genius/
  19. Mercedes welcomes Bose as 'Partner in Sound' http://www.f1today.net/en/news/199658/mercedes-welcomes-bose-as-partner-in-sound
  20. I don't believe there is one this year. I'm thinking with the death of that sprint car racer Tony was involved in, plus his wreck and leg injury, Tony might be in a bad spot. His Cup car team hasn't run well, even Danika is running better than him. Harvick and Busch are running great. Amy was all over this last year, suppose i could ask chad eh? Chad posted on this about a week ago, no car this year. You can search for Josef Newgarden and probably find it pretty easily.
