  1. We're just now starting to get the outer bands as they swirl southward. A slow soaking rain, just what we need. If you hold your tongue right Dave, you may see a little.
  2. How big is you attic, is it accessible to the listening room ? [Y] Now dtel, I was trying to be non-bias and NOT recoment the particular sub I'm using now[H]. I've found that the number of people willing to cut sheetrock for optimum bass is pretty low. Normally I go down that road after a few leading questions[].
  3. Most people recomend the sub that they're currently using (for some reason[]). Do you want to build a sub or buy one? Does size matter? Do you have a budget? How loud do you normally listen? Are asthetics important? How big is the room and how many openings?
  4. Was that really necessary? I guess it was about as nessasary as you reposting it in a quote. I thought it was enlightening.
  5. I get a good hard mid bass thump in the chest from my RF-7's (with 300wpc behind them) during concert videos. I also get that queasy feeling during suspense movies from ULF from my IB. They're 2 completely different feelings and both kinda cool.
  6. Nobody can make a decision for you as to what would sound best to you. The only way to make an intelligent decision is to hear the speakers in your room and decide for yourself if you like them. Worst case scenario, you prefer your LS's, sell the Reference speakers and make a profit. I own LS's and RF-7's. I like them both. I have a hard time listening to the LS's without a sub however. YMMV.
  7. GRAB IT NOW BEFORE HE WAKES UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. John, I lost my mother a few months ago after watching her mental health decline over her last couple years. I can't feel your anguish but I know what you're going through. Sometimes typing your feelings helps deal with the situation at hand, I know it did for me. It doesn't take the pain away however. Only time can dull it slightly. Prayer helped me also. Carl
  9. I can compare Heresy (III's) to RF-5's, but not RF-52's. If you have a sub, go with the Heresys. The Heresy''s have slightly better mids and highs. They drop off fast on the bottom end however. The RF-5's are almost as nice in the mids and highs but blow the Heresy's out of the water in the bass dept. If you only have room for 2 speakers, go with the RF-5's. If you can work a sub in, the H3's are the way to go. BTW, they're both great speakers and I'd have no problem with either set. Carl
  10. Nice score!! You've officially put one foot on the slippery slope.
  11. I went Chevrolet, people like to mod the old ones, the new ones have state of the art technology, American made, been around for a while, etc.
  12. Maybe I'm slow too, this didn't refer to "In" then?
  13. John, I said a prayer for her and your family. I'm so sorry. Carl
  14. The disturbance at the Yucatan Peninsula seems to be trying to gather itself.
  15. Good tip, thank you!! Now to be creative.... how about "Den Mother"? How about Audiofox?
  16. If the disturbance below the Yucatan would develope, the low pressure might suck Katia this way. Big "if" though.
  17. For the untrained and uneducated eye (mine) it appears that Katia will steer clear of the Gulf.
