  1. Actually, at 7 weeks he was 12 lbs[:$]
  2. I can ask if you're serious. There were 7 males and 3 females. As of 10 days ago (or so) I think there were one or two of the little guys left. Be aware however that they're in North Georgia. It's hard when you get another dog, there was a lot of emotions going on with me at the time we decided to get him. This is our 5'th puppy we've had since I've been married. We've had 2 New Foundlands, 1 Golden Retreiver, my last Rottie Adolph and now Axel. Every time I've gotten another dog, I think about how gut wrenching the passing of the previous one was, but as the saying goes, it's better to have loved and lost than never having loved at all. I cave.
  3. Marshall, you can't build one this good, this cheap, even with freight (may only have low level inputs though). http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/151927.aspx
  4. I thought that the Cornwall III's crossover was created using the distance from the woofer to the floor or mid horn as one of its design parameters. The woofer in the C III is in a different location than the woofer on the C II. I wouldn't think it would work unless you relocated the woofer in the cabinet.
  5. Yeah, but it wears off quick. Here's his daddy. (Hmmm, linky no worky) Try again, Axel's daddy:
  6. Yeah, but it wears off quick. Here's his daddy. (Hmmm, linky no worky)
  7. Sorry if it's been mentioned, (didn't read the whole thread[:$]) but I saw The Fighter this weekend. What a great movie. Christian Bale lost so much weight for his portrayal of a crack addict that he was barely recognizable. I enjoy Wahlberg movies as well and he was really good in this.
  8. The only thing that normally goes out is the amp. Find a good plate amp any you're good to go. Amps are typically what go out on the Klipsch subs so I would think you'd have just as reliable sub if you made it then if you bought one. Snoop around HERE.
  9. Thanks all. He's got quite a personality.
  10. Best post ever. You should add yourself to that exclusive group.
  11. The driver is the woofer, yes. The amp and driver should be held in with screws. DISCONNECT THE POWER BEFORE TINKERING. The driver will be heavy and the driver and amp may stick a little when coming out.
  12. The dog in my avater's name was Adolph. I put him there so I could see him every day as we had to put him down about 4 1/2 years ago due to bone cancer. I didn't think we'd ever replace him, and actually no dog could, but................................................... Abour 4 weeks ago, one of my older brothers started sending my family pictures of a litter that he was going to receive a puppy from. One thing led to another and we ended up with an addition to our family, another Rottie. I'd like to present Axel (at 9 weeks).
  13. Haven't heard either one, sorry. Small might be the better choice, but big is future proof. You can turn big down but small can only be turned up so far. Most subs have high level inputs (and outputs). Run your speaker A wires to the sub and then go from the the high level connection output terminals of the sub amp to your mains. I can't believe you're not DIY'ing her a sub. If a wood butcher like me can do it, I know you can[]. You can even match her veneer on her Heresy's.
  14. Just think of it as about the bottom 3 octaves or so[].
  15. It wouldn't hurt to pull the amp and driver to check and see if you have a loose connection somewhere.
  16. On a 5.1 movie track, there are 6 seperate tracks. Left Front, Center, Right Front, Left Surround, Right Surround, And Low Frequency Effects. Typically they all have different content. It's called the Low Frequency Effect channel because all content on this particular channel is in the lower registers of the audio spectrum. It is, it's taking everything below the crossover point of the LF, C, RF, LS and RS and sending it to the sub. It's ALSO sending the entire LFE channel to the sub. Yes, it's the LFE channel.
  17. You've tried 2 different receivers. Have you tried 2 different cables?
  18. Now I met your wife, and she did not have giant fangs, and she's only dangerous to you when holding a frying pan and correctional training is required. Or when Marshall doesn't heel.
  19. LOL...I'm not sure I'm following either What I think your saying is that you want your sub playing all LFE content available and that said content goes up to 120hz. I'm sorta cloudy on what setting your speakers to big or small actually does. I don't agree with some people's advice to set all your speakers to 80hz but that may be a seperate subject. My on screen display and owners manual does not do a good job of explaining the "small" and "large" settings. I'll give it a try but most likely not do as well as the posts above. The LFE track goes from 10Hz or so, up to 120 Hz, so you don't want to set the subs low pass filter below 120 Hz as you may loose some LFE content. For example, if you set the subs filter to 100 Hz, you will loose content from 100 to 120 Hz. You want to turn the filter on the sub to it's highest setting or disable it completely. The crossover point for your speakers is a totally different discussion. When you set your speakers to "small" you can choose the high pass filter setting. Most start with 80Hz. That means (roughly) everything above 80 Hz goes to your speakers and (roughly) everything below 80 Hz goes to the sub. Most processors combine the LFE signal with everything below the crossover point (of the speakers) and send it all to the sub.
  20. I haven't done any reading on it but I would think that the chain theaters have sound engineers set everything up for a typical application, then cookie cutter it and build duplicates.
