  1. For $500 I would stick with what you have and get a good cartridge, several have been recommended. Save your money for a vpi scout, don't bother with anything in between. I say this out of financial efficiency, i.e. buzz per dollar. JMO obviously.
  2. That being said, a cartridge mass in the 4.5 to 5.5g range should work well with the op's arm.
  3. Where do you draw the line at efficient vs. inefficient artto?
  4. Here is the same thing that you purchased, http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=2015&sku=29173, but from MonoPrice you only paid a 1/4 of that. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10239&cs_id=1023901&p_id=2789&seq=1&format=2 Even from BlueJeans you would saved almost half the price from CablesToGo. James I hereby stand corrected! I must have just been lucky when I purchased a set of xlr's. Thanks guys I'll be sure and keep these places in mind when comparison shopping.
  5. Seriously, check out cables to go and then laugh at blue jeans or monoprice.
  6. Good ears jay. You should not be able to tell the difference with such subtle changes. Personally I hate banana connectors, but I agree with you they are convenient.
  7. You could do the same from radio shack.
  8. You might not believe it fella, but it will cure your asthma too.
  9. So why haven't the brits and europeans figured it out? The horn guys over there are true mavericks, and far and few between.
  10. Technically. Just as recording an lp and giving it to a friend is technically a violation of copyright. Or listening to said recording then makes you an accessory. I feel so guilty all of a sudden.
  11. But Dave, nothing is more comforting than bacon on a rainy day!
  12. Cables to go is even cheaper.
  13. Right Craig. I have found them to be an excellent source of styli and their prices are very competitive. Another cart worth trying is the denon DL110.
  14. Do a search, we have exhausted ourselves over this ad nauseum..
  15. Only a collector would be interested and I'm not sure if anyone does that sort of thing. The whiskey itself depending on exposure to light may or may not be drinkable. At least it is in glass and not plastic, but the color looks off in the photo. Once spirits are bottled they gain nothing from age, and usually lose a lot over time. You never know, someone born in 1961 might be interested. The stand would be of as much interest as the rest of it.
  16. Laffer's idea only works if it is executed as posited. Expenditures must remain level. When the fiscal side is ignored as it has been then no possible economic theory will work to balance anything. Revenues will rise in an expanding economy, economic expansion can be fueled with lowering taxes (see Ireland) but if expenditures rise even faster the result is obvious.
