  1. I would put you more in the role of opera character based on that pic.....
  2. This one is one of my favorites. An arbitrageur and an economist were walking down a sidewalk. The arbitrageur sees a $20 bill. He points it out to the economist. "Hey look! It's a $20 bill! The economist replies: "Of course it can't be a $20 bill. If it were, someone would have already picked it up."
  3. I have never heard that one. I think it is hilarious.
  4. I don't think the cobs would bother setting up on your speakers. Too much movement on the cones and too much air movement from the horns. I have neglected to look at the back of the Forte II's for long periods of time and never had a cob or anything else make shop. (Except sometimes in the groove between the riser and the cabinet). Let the spiders live. Or at least most of them. 1. They help keep other bugs controlled. 2. You can achieve that "Adams Family" look. 3. At Halloween it looks like you went all out carefully decorating with spider webs. 4. No pesticides to pollute your living space. 5. Spiders are harmless to humans with a few poisonous exceptions.
  5. You have to have patience around here. A lot of threads take a while to get going. I rarely take the grills off my forte II's, the magnets are pretty strong, and there is no obvious sound difference, just an obvious difference in looks. They look cool with horns a'showin, but having the grills on make sure both the components and the grills are best protected.
  6. Sort of sounds like that weird al song "another one rides the bus", so it must be "another one bites the dust." (gay royalty Queen, or is it just the Windsor royalty, or is there a difference?) Thanks for the hint. "So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye- So you think you can love me and leave me to die"
  7. I tried searching to no avail. I would resort to getting the video and checking credits.
  8. Sopranos were great, especially the first few seasons. Are there going to be more? I also like 24, Allan. Still, South Park rocks for social commentary, etc.
  9. This the best i can do. I went and found the instruction manual that came with my FII's. As mine were among the first built, the specs I have are for the Chorus and Forte models, not the II's...On the graph, the fortes are smoother over most of the 90 to 180 range than the chorus. At the end of said spectrum the forte's start rising a tad later but bump up about a .25db more, while the chorus rise a little earlier then hump down to the 200 mark. If anything the fortes are smoother most of the time, with the main difference between them in that range being where the peak is (about 25hz form each other). The fortes start rolling off at 38hz and the chorus at 42, but the chorus roll off much faster. I think the combination of drivers and dimensions of the cabinet contribute to some being better at low end response than others. You certainly cannot conclude that the fortes achieve their low end because of a sacrifice in your stated range.
  10. I lost my mom last year. She was 64. We all wish your family our heartfelt concerns and support.
  11. Fairly common. She can watch law and order or cold case or that show with heidi klum (i peek in on that sometimes) while I can watch sports, and twisted cartoons, or bad movies.
  12. Abba means you have a weakness for looking at swedish girls. Well, who doesn't?
  13. I took it to mean best current show on tv. It's always a cartoon (everything in life is a cartoon to you, isn't it? people ask me). South Park has the best writing on current topics or trends, clever song writing, and a take no prisoners attitude. Championed over the simpsons several years ago for me.
  14. .98g's must be fun. Last Road and Track test summary I looked at for slolam handling was best from ferrari, and second was: the new mini cooper!
  15. There maybe AR's that can but not sold in the USA.
  16. No I don't think there is a vw for that type of car. But JB, I still would like to know the top speed (just curious).
  17. LOL. Of course. The spider is a 1971 Alfa Romeo which is real close to being back on the street if I just take a little time to do a few things. The vw is an '88 cabriolet which has an electrical gremlin I also should get off my duff and find. Low miles, good engine, straight body, nice paint. The bimmer is an'80 320i which I have been using as my daily driver, in pretty good shape except for the two major hailstorms she's been through. 190,000 miles on original engine and still runs good with minimal oil usage. Not even thinkable to get rid of right now(although the spider is close to the same thought) are the 88 325i, the 91 Alfa Romeo 164L, and the 70 beetle. So you can see where I would have to make room somehow.
  18. How fast does it go? (top speed)?
  19. It's like the outer limits jay. "We now have control over your thread."
  20. I've always wanted a mid to later 70's 911. For a while they were a great deal but now the rest of the world caught on. Still would love one in good shape though. I would get rid of a vw, a bmw, and maybe the old spider to make room(hope the spider did not hear that).
  21. I watch cartoons, but I am selective in twisted way. Soon it will be hockey season, yes very soon, and then there will be something else worth watching.....
  22. Perhaps, but how does that answer your question, or does it?
  23. I don't know about the current line, but.....the Forte II has a low of 32hz and the larger Chorus II has a low of 39hz, so why not?
  24. I have Richard Sakai's email address. Maybe I should send a copy or link to this thread.....
