  1. Actually, she's been talking about K-horns so much that I thought she might have already jumped on these. Seems like a great price, but they'll probably sell for quite a bit more. Dale
  2. I would agree with you except that I tried that tactic with an old Dual turntable last week. I was the high bidder for two days and I got sniped in the last few minutes and lost the auction [:@] Dale
  3. Unfortunately, I don't have the corners for the K-horns, but one of you might be able to snag these beauties! http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSCH-KLIPSCHORN-SPEAKERS-OAK-OIL-NEAR-MINT-L-K_W0QQitemZ9730682152QQcategoryZ61378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Cornwall-II-Speakers_W0QQitemZ9732653949QQcategoryZ32861QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. These would be for a 2-ch system I'm putting together for my home office. I just won Rick88's Rotel RX-603 receiver, and I'm bidding on a Dual TT as well. Dale
  5. Bally, Nice avatar! Is that pic from the Ronald Reagan display at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield? Dale
  6. Thinking about bidding on these...The current bid seems pretty low, just wondering what a fair price for these might be. http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Cherry-Wood-Klipsch-Bookshelf-Speakers-RB-25_W0QQitemZ9726765611QQcategoryZ94906QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Dale
  7. I'm also bidding on a Dual 505-2 TT right now. My home office is not very big, maybe 10' X 10', so I'm thinking that some Kg 1.2s or 2.2s should mate well. Dale
  8. Rick, I won the bidding on your Rotel. This unit wil be the starting point for my home office 2-ch system. Great looking receiver, can't wait to power it up [] Dale
  9. My favorite, by far, is "Fool in the Rain", mainly because of Bonham's drum beat. Dale
  10. Anyone ever seen these before? http://www.thesoundidea.com/ebay/shinall_spkrs_bfs2/page_01.htm Dale
  11. I saw a pair of Cornwalls in a pawn shop today that were in much worse shape than these are, but the owner wouldn't sell...Mentioned that a guy brought them and he was just holding them but didn't have room in the back, or something lame like that...It's times like this that I wish I had my old pickup and few days to spare. [] Dale
  12. It was 1994, at Wilson Audio in Tucson. I guess I had heard of the Klipsch brand before that, but I had never really had the chance to experience them. No one in my family was into audio, so I didn't grow up with it. All my friends were into Bose, and my previous speakers had been a pair of Realistic Mach-1s mated to Yamaha electronics. After several months of searching, the Kg 5.5s were the first speaker my wife and I actually enjoyed listening to; very clear, dynamic, and alive. They're still as awsome today as the day I bought them! Dale
  13. Found these on Craigslist...The first pair looks beautiful! Dale http://www.craigslist.org/eby/ele/159925535.html, $1300 http://www.craigslist.org/eby/ele/160417112.html, $2000 http://www.craigslist.org/eby/ele/160395103.html, $1300
  14. All, There's a Dual 506 belt drive TT w/Ortofon Mk II cartrige on e-bay for pretty cheap. Anyone have any experience with or thoughts about this unit? Dale
  15. Good Guys was the only place around here to buy Klipsch. They had the Reference line. Best Buy's sells the Synergy line on their website, but I swore them off years ago so I don't know if they carry them in the store. There is a audio store in Santa Rosa, Soundscape, that carries the Heritage line. I've been told they have a few pair for audition. According to the dealer lookup page, American Integrity Home Systems in Sacramento carries several lines. Dale
  16. I want to put together a small vinyl system in my home office, which is 10' X 10', and I'm think of picking these speakers up along with a Pioneer PL-12DII table also up for sale. I always thought the Kg 2's came with a 10" passive radiator on the back, as in the picture in the discontinued area, but these don't have that. The seller doesn't know either. Did Klipsch make different versions? They don't look to me to be suspicious. Maybe someone can help me deciper the serial #'s, 3X256 and 3X257. Maybe I should just hold out for a good pair of 2.5s, to get more bass? Of course, I won't be out much if these don't work. 17. That's great to hear! The only Klipsch dealer in these parts was Good Guys. Now, nothing. Ah well, another reason to go into San Fran [] Dale
  18. Congrats, guys! Good on ya! Dale
  19. I originally posted this under my own thread, but then Colin told me about this one... WOW, what a movie! Many folks have said it's too early for a movie like this, but I disagree. Actually, there was a made-for-TV version, but this one really blows it away. I came away with a new appreciation for what those folks did to defy the terrorists. I'd like think that I would have acted the same way, given the situation. I hope I never have to find out. I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone who might want to see it, so I won't go into to too much detail. This film was incredibly well made. It was shot in a minute-by-minute, "you are there" kind of way. You kind of get the feeling that you are in the room with the air traffic controllers. I mean, we all know how the story ends, but to see the events unfold from the perspective of those involved was very interesting. I agree with Colin that everyone involved, from the FAA to the military, seemed wholly unprepared. Who ever thought something like this could happen? I read that the script was based on the actual investigation, and it seemed to be very detailed. There are no "big name" actors or actresses, and I was surprised to see that many of the military and FAA personnel inlvolved played themselves in the movie. All the acting was top notch! The refreshing thing was that the director did not try to tell me what to think about the whole thing; he just laid it out for the audience. My parents talk about how they remember exactly what they were doing when they heard that JFK had been shot, and 9-11 will be forever etched in our memories as well. In the end, I guess everyone will have to decide for themselves if they are ready to see this movie. Like Ebert and Roeper, I give it a big "two thumbs up!" Dale
  20. All, This is a bit off-topic, but the wife and I caught an early matinee of "United 93" today, so I thought I would post my thoughts... WOW, what a movie! To top it off, 10% of the box office receipts for this weekend will go toward buidling a monument to the victims. My parents talk about how they remember exactly what they were doing when they heard that JFK had been shot, and 9-11 will be forever etched in our memories as well. 21. Tom, Whereabouts in Glendale are you? We used to live in Peoria...99th and Union Hills area. How does the new Cardinals stadium look? I can't wait to get back to Phx and catch a game there! Dale
  22. Although I've always liked it, my wife says "Brandy", by the Looking Glass, is the suckiest song ever... For my money, the prize goes to "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You", by Heart. Every time I hear that song I just want to vomit.[+o(] Dale
