  1. As long as "Old Hippies" have been brought up (which I are). Iron Butterfly..................... In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.................love the organ solo! Enjoy!
  2. Nothin wrong with old Marantz gear!!! Good old ss has alway sounded good w/ heritage. Its the bose (opps, somthing went wrong, mental stupidity). Agrreed good stuff there! Enjoy!
  3. I hate it when the voice starts up again.......................money talks.....mine just says good-bye!!!
  4. SWEET.......... after ya pull the backs, if stock, got type B networks, recap them. Cheap date for what you will end up with. Had mine since new an need more. You'll lovem on tubes. ENJOY!
  5. Kind a like it around 84/86, 90 plus, great. But for how long???????????
  6. lota years ago..... James Gang......
  7. Robert Mirabal (hes a native american) "Music From A Painted Cave" Only place to see him live is at a pow-wow. He preforms in full native dress and with family members. His music, stories pasted from elder generations down to the young in a rock style. Really good after a long hard day of whatever. Very calm and relaxing plus really good on his flute. IMHO, this is music to crash too! Enjoy
  8. Boomac, a little OT but is the Seven Seas still there? If it it is my daughter works there!
  9. Wow its thurs. already. Monday we got hit with a huge electrical storm and wiped out phone, modem just about every thing at least the power came up 3 hours later. This gave me plenty of tme for the tunes. John Kay and Steppenwolf "Born To Be Wild A Retrospective" - 1991 A two album set with more tracks never played over the airways. A wonderful dislay of talent for sure. On the humor side, a reason I've got tubes, to warm my butt up on a cold winter mourning (just kidin). Enjoy!
  10. Good to read ya here, this is a wild, wackie and agreed fun place to be. wpines....... nice avatar (my power button is on the right).
  11. Sweet, pencil us in, missed the one in Feb. over in the cities due to big a$$ storm. Be cool to put a face to the man who built my amp. Been years since I've been back in my old stumpin grounds.
  12. Got both HK and 2200s. Daughter has the HK and the 2230 will be driving my step daughters verts. Sweet!
  13. This one say Corns. The 2238 does sound vary nice on them. One can never know which direction will come in the future! All of them are great units, but I'm kind liven in my little neck of 2ch. You really cant go wrong anyway you choose. Price, Looks and what one likes is all that matters. Enjoy!
  14. Ran mine a long time on the hk430, really like the rich tones. Marantz 2230 works way well to.
  15. Got my Peavey in 03 "Q 231 FX". 2x31 with 1/3 octive filters, very sensitive with that many bands to play with. Although more built for live performances I like it (just me). Gain controls are tight and quick. Problems, how much ya what to depart with ($$$) this was around 500 then. If I could only find the old (mint) Soundcraft 32 that I sold many many moons ago. Regaurdless the corns like it too!! Cheap is ok but good costs IMHO. Enjoy!
  16. I also agree with TOOL "Undertow" As far as A Perfect Circle, just checked out the ones I have, nothing with "mother mary" but still a good group. Check out "Coldplay, A rush of blood to the head" really good alternative rock. (also has NASCARs theme song on it from last year) Enjoy!
  17. While waiting on the vrd, bought a 2230 for the start of my step daughters 2 ch. system and ran it a couple 3 months. Excelent sound but limted on the top end. Sweet at low levels but falls off around 50%. Just what I hear.
  18. I agree with the 2 schools here. For 20 years ran mine with a Yamaha P-2200 pro and a tube pre,did sound very nice. Have since moved to VRD ST with the same pre. The tubes" to me" are smoother, cleaner and crisper. You might want to think about replacing the Corns caps (if no mods have been done already) a cheap date. Regaurdless no matter what you choose, it will sound great they are Cornwalls. Enjoy!
  19. Mid week and the 4th ta boot. Here's one I have just learned about from the wife. We were just listening one evening and mom goes "put this one on." Wow was I impressed!!!!! "JONNY LANG" "Wandering the Land" (1998 cd) 21 years old when he put down the 12 tracks. Excellent studio work, separation "Awesome" uses all 2ch bass, mid, highs clean and clear. After a little digin he has 2 more realeased and yes ordered both. Will let ya known down the road my take on his newer stuff. Well worth a listen! Enjoy
  20. No matter what........just corns only what I hear
  21. Ok! Must be my turn, just a little stuff from "69-71". The James Gang! Rick Walsh, Jim Fox and Dale Peters (Tom Kriss fills in on some tracks also). A 3 man band that sounded like 5 plus. 3 studio LPs, one live. Hard driving rock! Walsh really show his stuff. Enjoy!
  22. I,m glad to hear they're still in business. I bought my Corns there in "75". Are they still in the Tosa mall, just in case my travels bring me back to the southeastern part of our state? Enjoy!
  23. Tubes, As a newbe, 30 plus years later, left SS. Tubes today. Brought me back to the day I said I'll take them. Cant' know why mom beat me over the brain bucket to get it dun. Money will buy you anythings, try vintage for lot less, you like, get more or better! Better,,,,, opps.......Money talks, mine just says......Bye
