Does anyone have an extra 311-90 horn they wish to part with..? I need one to make a pair. Also looking for some good drivers to go on them.

I too want to attempt building a pair of Jubiliees, but am not sure about which plans are the correct ones. Over time I blieve there have been a couple of different sets presented and also some measurement corrections. How (or where) do I get a set of plans with the most correct and up-to-date measurements?

POLL: Fun with bias/voltage meters? What is your wall voltage?
Joe Auwen replied to meagain's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
My wall voltage is still fluctuating between 119v and 127v, however my PS Audio appears to be able to keep up with it. The output voltage is almost stable at 117.3v and slowly moves up or down about .2 volts. The output voltage comes from the factory set at 120v, but can be adjusted. http://www.psaudio.com/products/moreinfo.asp http://www.psaudio.com/products/premier_power_plant.asp -
POLL: Fun with bias/voltage meters? What is your wall voltage?
Joe Auwen replied to meagain's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Wasn't blowing anything in the audio system, but could hear a change in the sound as the voltage went up and down. My UPS on my computer would also drop to battery power every few minutes until I set the sensitivety way down. From what I could measure, it was the spike at the top voltage that would trigger the UPS. The PS Audio output voltage is maintaining a near constant 117.3 volts (+/- .2 volts), so I am pretty happy with it. Even though the power issue didn't seem to have any short term effects, I feel a whole lot better about my amps long-term health with the cleaner and more stable power (of course the more consistent sound is nice too)... We are in a an area that is growing extremely fast, with lots of new housing and commercial buildings going up in a 20 mile radius. The power company has been trying to upgrade it's major (and only) substation for the past few months to keep up. My wall power will vary from approx. 119volts to 127volts within minutes and sometimes seconds. For piece of mind, I finally gave up and bought a PS Audio Power Plant Premier and set it for 117 volts. I run vintage McIntosh amps, that are set-up for 117 volts, into khorns. -
Out of curiosity, what exactly would the 'ball o' wax' be if someone had already collected over a 100 vintage McIntosh amps..? [:|]

A project I would like to start this summer is a Jubilee build. Is there a good source of plans for them?

Dave, Just don't get toooooo attached to those KT66s...... [] -
It includes all but the K33s, but I have a used pair I could include. I would also consider parting with just the xovers. Send me an email.

Hi All, I just started moving stuff into my new home shop and found these in the process. I thought I would offer them to the Klipsch forum again before putting them on ebay. The $1300. price includes shipping within the lower 48. Price is negotiable as I need the space.

Dean, I still have the complete package.. AK-4 crossovers, K-55s and the K-77s...

Yep, I've been moving equipment into my new workshop and made sure I put the AK-4s aside in case you needed them back... []

Craig, My understanding is that you like to fish... maybe name the amps after the fish you like to catch, i.e. Salmon, Trout, etc.... Just a thought! -

Dave, Great write-up and it does sound (pun intended) like we found a good build for the 30s. I'll get some KT66s together this weekend and get them in the mail for you to try. They will be either GEC Gold Lions or regular GECs, depending on which ones I can get a closely matched quad out of [] Craig, If it's OK, I'll give you a call this weekend? I've been building the benches in my new shop, so it may be a couple more days before I can start getting a pair ready to send. As soon as I got my woodshop going again Myrl came up with a few projects for me to do when I can fit them in.. [:|] Thanks for the kind words on the rebuilds...[:$] I started life out as an Aviation Electronics Tech in the Navy (retired in 1996 with 26 years) back when most of the gear we had was vacuum tube. It's been a lot of fun getting back into the 'vintage' equipment... [] -
Myrl is 5'2"... She helped me carry these into the house, what an adventure that was.... :-) Werner, which ones do you mean...?

Craig, Which caps are you bypassing in the MC-30? Are you almost ready for the 'upgrade with whatever you want' pair of MC-30s yet..? -

Hi Tim, If you wish, you can send my 'babies' back and I'll do the update for you... [] Not quite sure how it happened, but you and Audible seem to have become parents to my best two pairs of 30s (I think you actually have the nicer pair of the two - sorry Dave..). This was a fun project that is still in progress as we try some other things to try and 'improve' on the sound of the 30s. Even Craig will get a chance to try a few things with a pair (as soon as things settle down Craig..) Now if I can just get the time to get started on updating a pair for me. [] On a side note... With the help of another forum member, I recently received a batch of newly manufactured replacement chassis and bottoms for the MC30s. The bottoms appear to be close to a perfect match to the original. The first batch of chrome chassis is a tad thinner material than the original and also sustained some small scratches on the back panel during the screen printing. However, if you put them side-by-side with an original, you would not be able to tell them apart by looking at them. We are working on another batch that will hopefully be perfect. Also looking to do some chassis that would match the MC225s (as soon as I can get a bare chassis shipped).
