  1. Been watching the Credit card for charges, finally showed up today (I was hoping like us Mike might forget) 🙂 No such Luck 😗
  2. I can't lose teeth anymore..........................well except maybe Dentures but I would have to have those to lose them.😒
  3. Auto Bias does not equal a hybrid amp
  4. "pulled them out and took them to Klipsch HQ where I inspected them" Im betting the Chamber is at Klipsch HQ where the OP must work or be associated with
  5. pretty much as many as I can afford............😒
  6. I have a superb Don Allen KT88 / 6550 / 6L6gc SET amp with massive Iron Totally overbuilt and sounds wonderful. It would be perfect for Klipsch Speakers, offering the best of SET mids and highs with enough grunt to drive those 15" woofers....................I love the amp but the gain is not a good match with my current Hi-Gain Supratek pre and 100db efficient speakers. Ultimately I would love to swap the amp for a lower output SET amp. I can add $$$ or accept $$$ to balance out the trade values. Here is a link to my amps Pictures and a great description. I have spare driver tubes that I will include and I have several options for output tubes. My amp is auto Bias so basically plug and play Link to better pics and Description than I could ever take or pen: http://glowinthedarkaudio.com/don-allen-se6550.html
  7. Check out Decwares Forums, Steve does a lot of speaker reviews that sound great, Nice setup Example https://www.decware.com/newsite/ZMS.html Scroll down to the bottom of the page for a couple of his demos. 2 superb songs that can really show off a system 1. Jennifer Warnes, album The Hunter, Song, Way Down Deep 2. Allison Krauss, album So Long So Wrong, Song, It Does'nt Matter Also Danny Ritchie over at G.R. Research does some great Demos
  8. I would like to try it but if its nuts and bolt mount that leaves me out, My tremor barely allows me to put a screw in a threaded body cart. Holding a cart and a nut while trying to line up a screw is outta the question, I would also play HE!! aligning the cart................Just not worth the added hassles for me
  9. 2 RCA 6KZ8 tubes in original boxes, 1 RCA 6ES5, in original box, and a pair of Raytheon 6ER5 in Pro Comm Boxes...............................Free for anyone using a wright phono stage. I will even cover USPS priority small flat rate shipping
  10. Is the body threaded or do you have to use nut and bolt to mount the cartridge ?
  11. I have a lot of reference materials, most likely will be Allison Krauss, Jennifer Warnes, Dire Straits, Lyle Lovett, and a few others.................I dont do Alcohol, so will be strong black coffee (Petes Major Dickenson Blend) or Chai Tea Horn Monos, LOW gain 25wpc http://quicksilveraudio.com/products/horn-mono-amp/ I have a Bi-Amp system using a Lii Audio F-15 Full Range Driver up top and a Lii Audio W-15 on Bottom. Using a SET 6L6 amp on the top paired with my Supertec Syrah Pre it sounds phenomenal but the gain is such that even a 5 / 6 WPC set amp restricts the Pre Volume to 9: O-clock position at best. The Quicksilvers have higher WPC But Lower gain they were designed for use with horn speakers. They are dead quiet......................I am hoping the lower gain will allow for better use for the volume control on my pre. I already know I like the sound having had an older pair of the horn monos that lost a power supply cap, and I sold them as a project
  12. I could not care less about your system, I wont despair at all I promise............................ Whole point is I wont allow anyone but me to choose an amp for my system Good Night all🙂
  13. Now we are stretching things, Subwoofer and subwoofer amps have nothing to do with an amp being chosen for a pair of mains. I see you are simply stirring a pot looking for rebuttal. You are searching out every example of an amp built into a speaker in an attempt to support your theory that an amp built into a speaker is a good thing. I am happy you like the idea of someone else making the decision on how your system will sound. Enjoy that...............
  14. Called Mike Sanders this afternoon, Was shocked when he answered the phone (being Sat.) short version is I put in an order for a new pair of quicksilver Horn Mono Amps hoping they will be the answer to my to much gain issue..................The wait begins!!!!!!!!!!
  15. While I have the greatest respect for PWK., and his many contributions to audio. The fact is, he was in business to sell products. In business, if one desires to stay in business the cost to produce a product is ALWAYS a paramount concern. That being the case, it is no secret that Klipsch, has and still does select products on the basis of meeting both COST and PERFORMANCE. No one at Klipsch or VOXX or ? could possibly know my desired parameters, my room situation, my system components. Therefore NONE of them could possibly KNOWINGLY install an amp on my behalf. Its that simple, what someone may have done in the past to please themselves, has ZERO BEARING on the TOPIC at hand
  16. "Should Be" Is an opinion, I personally will pick my own amplification based on my desires. Someone that is installing an amp based compromise to meet a Price VS Performance goal, is not an opinion I will put faith in.
  17. I had the Edgar Titan up in Pa in a basement with twin seismic subs VERY NICE SOUND...............................I think you will be impressed
  18. Appreciate the Kind Words, I am watching out for Tims next project, have conversed with him a few time. Very NICE and forthright .
  19. You are correct I have had a few Schiit pieces. I only still own a Sys as its handy in a few situations. I am not one to bad mouth gear etc... but to be frank The Schiit is not in the same league as the MK III monos. Dynaco MK III driving Cornwalls would be a match made in Heaven I have owned that combo in the past and heard that combo in others homes as well. Its hard to beat. Joe
  20. DAC is the latest version with the Beeswax Caps, You Can listen for HOURS on end with ZERO Fatigue.
  21. Border Patrol bought new in May 2020, has maybe 200 hours and includes a couple tubes for your rolling pleasures. The SingXer SU-1 allows you to use either USB through the SingXer or SPDIF / Coax without need of the SingXer. Condition SE-i the copper case was Dinged and had die electric grease inside the cover. When I cleaned the grease off The finish was marred. I sanded down to the pure copper primed and sprayed the cover satin black (same as original color) inside the cover still shows remnants of the grease though no grease is there. I lost 2 of the original screws and replaced them with same size though they are Philips not the Allen key The SU-1 looks as new See Pics the dac looks pretty much like any other out there IMHO, None of the above affect play, use, or appearance. I only mention it in the spirit of full disclosure All Pics are actual items offered for sale Both the SE-i and the SU-1 perform as new with no issues. Price is fairly Firm and reflects the cosmetic items mentioned above I have the original packing for the SingXer, and will double box both the SingXer and the DAC in NEW Heavy Duty boxes with plenty of soft foam for protection. Price is 950.00 for both plus shipping and fees (New 1800.00) Location is 28351 NC
