  1. Dean, I agree with everything you said about the repair to the speaker, but I don't understand why you say the RF-7 is not a high end speaker. What would you concider a high end speaker??? I trust your jugment alot more than my knowlage in this hobby and am just wondering. Steve
  2. I ran across theses while surfing the net today. I did a search of the forum and the Klipsch main site and couldn't find any pictures. I believe these were taken at the last CES show. Any way I sure think they look sweet. I like the dust covers on the woofers. I'm just not sure why?? haha Steve
  3. I use a Y cord and connect the sub cable to both Left and Right RCA jacks. I don't think you have to use the Y cable but I had one anyway. I think it will work just fine with the one cable to either the Left or Right jack. Steve
  4. hahahaha Now youve done it now everybody has to go searching the net to find the most rediculous stuff that has some kind of audiophile look to it. I'm looking forward to what all shows up. Steve
  5. Thanks Mauge and ygmn, I was thinking of using the 3 RF-7's and the 2 ultra subs. While the RF-7's would be behind the screen the subs would be built into the wall or stage below the screen. I want to use the RB-7's or RC-7's as my surounds and rears. I really like the way m00n has his set up. I am waiting to see what he does with the RC-7's, as far as them having rear ports. Steve
  6. I'm sitting here at work kind of bored and was thinking about the design of my HT. The wife has said that she would not like to see any of the speakers in the theatre. I would like them to be in full view but I'm willing to compromise. Using 3 RF-7s as my LCR I could build a box behind the screen that they would set on. The question is. With the RF-7 having a rear port they need room behind and around them. How deep would the box need to be to accommodate the speakers and not take away the bass? I understand that it might not be advisable to do this but I was just wondering if it was even an option. Dont laugh at my drawing. All I have at work to draw this out on is MS Paint. Steve
  7. Live CrazyJoe, I own KG 5.2, and I really love the way they sound. The 5.5 have two 10" woofers where the 5.2 has a 10" woofer and a 12" passive radiator. Like Bill H. said "you cant go wrong" That is as long as its a good price. And since its local there will be no shipping involved. Sorry about the first posts that you got on this but it is like Gil said, with out knowing what exact model and what condition they are in it is very hard to give a price. What is the store asking for them? On the back will be a sticker with the model number and serial numbers on it. Let us know that and maybe some pictures and we will hook you up and get you started in the Klipsch family. Welcome to the board. Steve
  8. Thats not mine; I pulled it off the web that was for sale. I wish mine looked that nice, but mines not all dolled up to sell either. It gets dumped in every day and emptied once a week. I do need to pull it out of service for a weekend and clean it up tho. Mine is the same as that one. Right now all my cleaning up and fixing is going into the 35 x 65 cinderblock dairy barn Would love to close off a portion of the hayloft and make a listening room. Maybe after the addition to the house that has been put on hold for now. Some day I'll have it all done. Yeh right!!! Steve
  9. I would not use WD40, it will leave a residue that is oily and will only attract more dust and dirt. There are several electrical contact cleaners on the market The one we use is made by LPS. It comes in an aerosol can just like WD40, it cleans and dries very quickly and leaves no residue Contact Cleaner or LPS site http://www.lpslabs.com/Products/ElectricalCleaners/ElectricalCleaner.asp'> LPS Site Steve
  10. yup, your right Daddy Dee This time of the year I have all the neighbors calling and asking for me to spread **** on there gardens. I have a good friend that is a Lieutenant Colonel with the Air National Gaurd and he doesn't take crap from anyone. EXCEPT ME Steve
  11. I pull this around once a week. Does anyone know what this is??? Steve
  12. Back when a hoe was a hoe Coke was a coke And crack's what you were doing When you were cracking jokes Back when a screw was a screw The wind was all that blew And when you said I'm down with that Well it meant you had the flu I miss back when I miss back when I miss back when I love my records Black, shiny vinyl Clicks and pops And white noise Man they sounded fine I had my favorite stations The ones that played them all Country, soul and rock-and-roll What happened to those times? Steve
  13. I wish I could get highspeed internet for a reasonable price at home. The only option I have is Satalite and they want $100.00 a month or $599.00 for equipment and $60.00 a month. Don't think that will happen on my budget. Just wish I had another choice and maybe it would be a better price. Oh well at least dial up works for what I do at home. It is sad at how much we spend for stuff that was free or nonexistance when we were kids. Hey I remember when I was the remote control for the TV. Dad wanted the channel changed he would tell me to change it. Steve
  14. ---------------- On 4/14/2005 9:27:51 AM Maron Horonzak wrote: 50 percent hit rate? The first shot killed him. The next 22 shots to make shure. ---------------- But there was 47 shots fired. I know some had to come from the robber, but still at point blank range you would think the hit rate would be higher. Steve
  15. I use a KV3 as a center with KG5.2's as mains and IMO I think it sounds great. I'm not saying that Klipsch designed this to go with it but it is what the delear sugested and sold me at the time I bought the 5.2's. I assume if there would have been a better match he would have sold me that. He had to order the KV3. If you do a search on this website for the KV3 the main speaker matches are all the KG line. it doesn't mention the CF line at all on the KV3 page. If you do a search on KG4.2 it gives KG2.2v as the center. The KG4 page doesn't list a center match. So Klipsch is not clear on what to use. Steve
  16. Spkrdctr, Your saying that you've never touched the Blose stuff or are you saying that you just didn't intake any sound from blose??? Steve
  17. I really like hearing others with KG's. You hear so much about the Heritage and all the new stuff but not much about the KG line on this forum. I do want to get a RF7 sys in the future but I plan on keeping the KG sys for the livingroom or bedroom. Steve
  18. Michael Yeh I don't send many e-mails out like that but that was just too funny The part that made me laugh the most was Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. It had to be point blank range and there were that many misses. I mean thats not even a 50 percent hit rate. I shouldn't say anything, I would probably not be any better in that situation. Steve
  19. I just thought this was way to funny not to post. What was he thinking?????????????????????????? The following mind-boggling attempt at a crime spree in Washington USA appeared to be the robber's first (and last), due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices: 1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms, A gun shop specializing in handguns. 2. The shop was full of customers - firearms customers. 3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door. 4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work. Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a .22 target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, the police officer with a 9mm Glock 17, the clerk with a .50 Desert Eagle, assisted by several customers who also drew their guns, several of whom also fired . The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt in the exchange of fire. Here we are at the beginning of March and we already may have the 2005 winner of the Darwin Award. This guy is going to be hard to beat. Steve
  20. Griffinator, I thought it was funny and didn't see anything that was offencive (sp) but ut took at turn toward political and religious. Poeple took it serious (I really don't know how if you read it) I think it was heading in a bad direction and they pulled it. I doubt it was because of what you posted. Steve
  21. The worst part about not going along with the book is that they depict NUMA as treasure hunting, and depict dirk as being obsessed with finding the Texas (cival war ship). And there trip up the Niger is looking for the ship and they stumble across the red tide because it messes up the sonar equipment. It was a good action adventure flick in the Indiana Jones kinda way. It was also a clasic good guy wins bad guy loses flick...haha The only thing I didn;t like was the fact that it was so far from the book. Steve
  22. We saw this on Saturday and I will say it was a very good movie. BUT.......................................... It was really lousy at following the story line from the book. The key point in the book about the red tide is just a side note in the movie. The Lincoln part was left out completely along with the diamond mine. I wonder what book they have plans to do next. I have heard its at least a three book deal. I can see why Mr. Cussler was so upset and sued Paramount Pictures. But all in all it was a good flick, worth seeing. The wife has not read the book and she loved it. Steve
  23. OK, I guess I'll be first. I'm a closet blose owner, but hey it wasn't by choice. Our 2004 Chevy Z-71 cam with blose speakers in it, one of these days I need to get it to the dealer and have them check it out I think there is a tweeter blown in it. Crappy blose stuff....... There I got that off my chest, now whos next? Steve
  24. Only a Texan could think of this .... from the County where drunk driving is considered a sport, comes this true story. Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Bandera, Texas. After last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car which he fell into. -- -- He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off (it was a fine, dry summer night) -- -- flicked the blinkers on, then off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. --He moved the vehicle forward a few inche! s, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patron vehicles left. At last, the parking lot empty, he pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive slowly down the road. The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up the patrol car, put on the flashing lights, and promptly pulled the man over and carried out a breathalyzer test. To his amazement the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken." "I doubt it," said the truly proud Texan. "Tonight I'm the designated decoy." Steve
