  1. Drivers and horns in the house... 2 - 2365H Horns 2 - 2365T Throat/s? 2 - 2441 Compression drivers...serial numbers 33959, 33961 Based upon the serial numbers can anybody elaborate on the drivers? Pictures forthcoming...I'm about to open them up, they have a pathetic physical appearance, the drivers do, anyway...Can they be refinished? There are no dents or gouges or anything, just paint mainly (crinkle finish). The back covers are off, black foam just crumbled to dust on the slightest of touch...more later BS
  2. DJK, Firstly, thanks for your informative response Secondly, I may be getting the horns, throat, and compression drivers for next to nothing...The horns are huge...guessing 36"x 36" at the opening, which model might those be..? the throat looks like a mini K700 .They are currently sitting upside down, drivers up, in a utility building. I;m to pick them up and haul them off, next week...
  3. I have an opportunity to get a pair of these which are blown...any idea on cost to fix and other valuable information would be appreciated... Thanks BS
  4. If you mix lacquer thinner and denatured alcohol in a 50/50 mixture you will get a much cheaper version of Formby's that does the same thing. It will take off as little or as much of the finish as you want. Use 00 steel wool and rub in the direction of the grain.Herb Good suggestion on the mix..... I would like to add ... instead of steel wool I have used a synthetic pad that looks like a scotchbrite pad. I was warned about steel wool leaving small pieces behind that might be missed and then could stain the wood. I don't know the name of the pads, I think 3M makes them. Theycomes in different colors which denote the amount of material they removes ( white, green and brown ). They work great for me and last a long time. Yes, as suggested, unless I remove all the guts prior to this job...I do not want to use any steel wool...unless it's a must..
  5. Any cautions about using lacquer thinnner or the wood finish stripper products? Concerned about releasing the veneer from the substrate. These are 83 walnut lacquer cornwalls...FYI BS
  6. Why do you say that? Yeah, they could have degraded in a good way.
  7. And the finished product now belongs to my friend Colter
  8. Looks like you might need some slant lowerers on that pair...good greif!! Looks good
  9. Use the Masonite board for your grills 3/16"
  10. As usual, very well thought out and constructed.
  11. Wuzzer, I'm down to chosing between a few recievers, now. The Pioneer Elite SXA9J two channel has a set of pre-outs. I'm not worried about the options on the Elite SC-05. Would you be so kind as to suggest what options I would have with that two channel 9J? The SVS sub is a SB12Plus. The Aragon is sold, but not shipped yet. BS[bs]
  12. So, an extra set of Pre-outs would work wonders? I would need just one set of RCA's plugged into the "in", correct? Where would you go "out"? Wuzzer, I just ordered an SVS sub, BTW... BS
  13. On a standard 2 channel receiver, can you hook up a powered sub through a tape loop or other options...other than speaker cables? BS
  14. Get a preamp/tuner + amp. Adcom, Parasound and others
  15. Sounds like you have an encouraging better half; that always helps. Get over to see Colter for true madness. Welcome aboard. What's the connection to Sweden? BS
