  1. Thanks Dave.....that was easy. [] Any recommendations on free internet radio?
  2. Here's a good one for ya... Is it possibe to connect my laptop to my stereo? I mean, in my bedroom where I usually use my laptop the stereo is like five feet away. Vintage Marantz 3600 preamp.......I also have a Denon 3805 a/v receiver that I could use. Why buy computer speakers etc. when my bedroom system is right there?
  3. Yeah.........."We're up here.........and you're down there".
  4. I have more good things to say rather than bad..........but it has become the "American Way".......among other things. []
  5. Denon does an excellent job for movies.
  6. That's funny......I majored in ***, too. No books......lotta Old Style.[][:S][:S][:S]
  7. And here I was thinking it stood for Sweet Wisconsin Lakes... Is that a Wisconsin landscape in your avatar? It sure looks like one. I don't have a camera so I got it off the computer with that in mind......and yes, the lakes are sweet. []
  8. I was talking about individual speaker volumes. When I used my Denon, I had them between 0db and +5db. (test tones)
  9. Curious.....What do you have your gains/attenuators set at on the Crown's? speaker volumes on the Denon?
  10. I went there today. They have three listening rooms displaying PF-39's and the next two lower models. All powered by Krell and Mac.......tube and solid state. Big bucks $$$. Can you say Hi-End? [] The Palladiums are an awesome sounding speaker.
  11. I was gonna demo a 640C from Ken at Simply Stereo in Hoffman Estates. I've always been hearing such good things about the Cambridge cd players. I ended up buying a used.....perfect condition.....Cambridge 540d DVD player from Decibals for $180.00. I've only been using it for listening to cd's and absolutely love it. It now gets more action than the Denon cdp I was using prior. Very nice sounding unit. Very good build quality as well. [Y]
  12. True.....I've never tried them, though.
  13. So if I go this route.... do the back wall and the sides, so how far forward of speaker and how far above? m What you can do..........is sit in the sweet spot and have someone run a mirror along the side walls at the same height as the tweeters. When you can see the reflection of one of the speakers, that is a reflection point and an absorption panel would be placed there. There will be two reflection points on each side wall.
  14. Ya learn something knew every day. [:^)]
  15. That pretty much describes the entire purpose of this forum, I'd say. I admit that I've been there before......but have learned to be open minded.[]
  16. Yes, the sides also (reflection points). []I'm not quite sure what you mean by vertical or horizontal..........do you plan on removing the balancing network or leaving it intact?
  17. First, middle and last name initials.........real clever, huh?
  18. How far away is the wall behind the 30's? My RF-7's are 1.5' away from the wall and I put Auralex acoustic foam on the wall behind the horn only. This helped mellow out the highs in addition to treating early reflection points. Are you looking to passively bi-amp the 30's (Fool's bi-amp)..........or do a "true bi-amp" configuration?
  19. Yes......but you'll need RCA to XLR adaptors......no big deal.
