  1. David, yes, I have been taking lots of picts, getting better - she is a trip - The only thing for sale is the amp right now, I have the tube and driver spoken for at the moment, just the amp is available. But thanks for the question! K
  2. Jay, sent you e-mail - OK, last bump - Amp in great shape, still available - ready to go - any takers? Price OBO... K
  3. Despite promising start, amp still available. K
  4. Hey Bro! Long time no speak...Yes, I am THE dad, pretty much the only one - ever. and the spud is showing her first teeth, can you believe it? I have those Heresys hooked up and I am enjoying the sound, those little buggers cook (edit - when the overly sound sensitive nugget is not around, or her mother for that matter). I have been trying to do good deeds for fellow members ever since that excursion you and Seti took...and I am still listening to his Japanese techno stuff...good times. Bruce
  5. PM-ing doesn't seem to work for me, so shoot me an e-mail plz if you are interested - bellicus-AT-gmail.com K
  6. Been experimenting? Have amp, you want? K
  7. Hey, I thought I would post this here before FleaBay, I have the amp from a 20-39PC+ cylinder sub, it is the 525 watt BASH, in excellent shape, looking to sell. I would prefer local to Ft. Worth, but we can work something out otherwise. I think given it's shape, $200.00 is fair, plus shipping. K
  8. Hey Fritz, Tried to PM, it doenst; work - I am in Keller, couple of hours south - of Wichita Falls - what can I do for you? I need to pay it forward man - if I can help let me know. Bruce aka Kriton
  9. Well Bill, some of your information is also incorrect - I have in my possession a pair of Cornwall 2's, not 1's, made from Birch ply throughout, not MDF - Label Says CW2, composite mid-range horn, externally mounted drivers, and all - made from birch PLY not MDF - of course I also have a pair of CW 2's made from MDF but not *all* were - oh, and as an edit, the label on my CW2's indicate that they were made in 1987! I don't think anyone would claim to know everything about anything (at least not the wise), but believe it or not, some of us have actual visual proof and experience, not supposition. As well as the fact that once you own CW's or Heresys, or KHorns for that matter, you tend to notice and see and research all of the different configurations. I have personally inspected at least 12 pairs of Cornwalls, inside and out since I bought my first, and while my knowledge is limited with regard to historic models, I have a short grasp on what the basic configurations were. Like my pair however, yours might be completely different, that is possible- it just seems unlikely. The general consensus is that Klipsch did make mid model change speakers, to use up parts etc. But your configuration is radically different than any I have seen before, that crossover is something else entirely. Maybe some of our crossover gurus can chime in here... Further, in my limited experience, I have never seen round caps like those in your untouched crossovers, which is not necessarily a bad thing. If someone *did* recap them, that is a good thing, not bad as the originals were not optimal. However, on the point of your caps, my opinion is totally *an opinion*. K
  10. Uh, pardon me for interupting but I prefer to make my own cabling with raw cable from www.bluejeanscable.com - the Canare Star Quad and the 10 gauge Beldin are killer and for a good price. The cable they sell is top notch, and comparatively cheap when set next to the hype of Monster. The locking bananas they sell are awesome too, and cheap or you can go to www.cobaltcable.com (go compare the cost of those bananas at cobalt, they are the exact same components - I know I bought both) and pay way too much. Shipping by BJ cable is fast and easy - of course, while I wish I had an affiliation, I do not, etc. Sorry to direct this thread back to the apparent intention of the original poster. Now back to the original post-hijacking channel. k
  11. Uh, my humble recommendation is the circuit specialists unit that I picked up a while back - cheap and well built, been using it rather extensively, I don't do several hundred crossovers a year, but for my use it is above average. http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/7307 K
  12. Ohhh, I wouldn't advise cashing the check - cashing the check with the notation of "full and final settlement" could be construed as a settlement offer and wherein cashing the check would indicate acceptance of the offer to settle, precluding any further recovery, striking the notation and initialing might be possible - but I wouldn't risk it...How big was the shingle warning, and was it in such a place as a reasonable person would have seen the warning? What is the failure rate of the shingle? Did the manufacturer place into the stream of commerce a product that was known to be defective such that their warning would not relieve them of their negligence? Would alternative design theory come into play? Doesn't this also come down to comparative fault question, regardless of the warning? Wouldn't this also be a submission to the homeowner's insurance policy for full payment, and their decision (by the assignment of the right to recover form the shingle company) whether to sue the shingle co.? I guess I really shouldn't get into this should I? I restrained myself on the whole mitigation of damages/bargained for exchange/duty-breach-damages thing on the last question...I will shut up now. K
  13. Dude, jet down - relax and breathe - I think Jays post could have been interpreted in two ways, and you and I interpreted it in different ways - He could have been saying tht you are flapping in the wind complaining about a product to a company that isn't going to answer you and therefor you are wasting your time complaining about it - that would make him on YOUR side, wouldn't it? You spend an entire post saying nasty things about this guy for an eight word phrase on an open internet forum? Don't you think that is a little over reactive, even if he just wanted to say you make a long post complaining and venting when nothing can or will be done - he didn't call you a troll, or an idiot, or anything of the sort. You appear to spend some time on the internet, yes? You know how this works, why do you think crapping in the front seat is going to make the car smell better? You want help, you be nice and inquire - you will be shocked at how people will actually try to help here. I have a free turntable, some crazy good speakers and people I respect and now consider friends from this board- you can too. More listening and less expulsing. What exactly do you want us to say? Have many of us had some crappy experiences with Klispch mass produced products? You bet, I am one of them - I had a set of ProMedia 5.1THX, the infamous-amplifier-blows-just-shortly-after-the-warranty-period-is-up-blunder - was I pissed? You have absolutely no idea. Did I ***** about it, yes and how. Did my bitching resolve anything? Not on your life. NOW, that being said Klispch doesn't build your speakers, they are built by some sweat shop factory someplace subcontracted by Klipsch on the Asian rim. Fact of life, to get the speakers at the price you get them, that is what you get. If you want to pay more, much more, you can pick up the actual MADE by Klipsch, hand built, hand tested reference and Heritage speakers that we all aspire to (see my sig)- but you get ultimately what you pay for here. Some of us actually ahve taken the time to meet the good hardworking folks that hand build these things, and THERE, the fail rate is remarkably LOW (saw the inspriation chart on the board in the factory in Hope, Arkansas). And yes, you will find that there are some very conscientious people on this board, in the employ of Klipsch, who are watching and reading everything you are saying - and I believe that those people will be very interested in your problems and will tell their superiors what is going on (but frankly, I think in this particular matter, you will be one of thousands making the same complaints) - and while I hope that they will attempt to fix this - it is out of the board moderators hands - and into the dark halls of the corporate shuffle. All I ahve learned is that these things are worth the hassle. But, if you are looking for specific advice on maybe how to fix those buggers, ask specifics, and you might be surprised. IF you want someone to tell you that you are right, and this sucks wind - I am telling you that you are right, and I am sorry for your pain - because I have been there - if you want me to tell you to move on and get something else - can't do that - as painful as it was, I got those ProMedia's fixed, and am using them at good volumes today, and they kick asssssss compared to the Logitechs I owned and the now defunct Monsoons...these bears are more than decent speakers. That all being said, you should be able to take that speaker back, no? Get it back to where it comes from, get another or get your money back or call Klipsch support and get it fixed on their dime - or ask nice and maybe one of the moderators here will point you in the right direction. K
  14. When I try to hit the "Contact" button at the top of your comment, it just sits there? When I hit reply t goes right to the reply screen, but not contact - the drop down menu isn't working apparently? Anyone else having this issue? OT send me a PM, I will hook you up - I am pretty sure that my wife hasn't gotten rid of them - and I am sorry, I wasn;t following this thread to see your response. K

    Genesis

Hey all, I know that you probably have all heard this news, but I have been just frothing over this one - it would appear that there will be a Genesis reunion tour in Europe next year, sans Peter Gabriel, but with all the other guys, including Phil Collins on the massive drum set - and the powers are releasing a lot of the good Genesis albums on SACD starting in January - I don't think Lamb isscheduled for release but I might be wrong - I am jonesing over the walk down memory lane...might have to catch them abroad, maybe another Wembley sold out? That would be nuts... Don't know when the US tour is scheduled - but surely? K
  16. OT, you have pm. K EDIT - Well I tried to PM you at any rate, forum won't let me?
  17. I am keeping the poster for Klipsch, I am donating the unsolicited moralistic sermonizing to Trinity Waste Services, but thanks. Does this mean they are out of posters? K
  18. Hey boys, I am going to interject if I can - I need to pick up 2x1500uf and 2x2200uf caps for a receiver recapping that I am attempting - the voltages are 80 and 90v respectively, very hard (impossible) to find in those numbers - and they are large cans - would those high voltage 1500uf's be ok to replace the existing caps in this receiver or am I going to get hit with a huge in-rush current and fry something if I replace an 80v 1500uf with a 1500uf 450v? Those prices look tasty, and I really need to get this thing moving... Help! Uh, and yes, I am nuts. And, yes, I solder with my pants on (learned the hard way). K
  19. I finally pulled my poster all the way out of the tube - WTH is up with the "Practice Peace" propaganda in with the poster? I have to tell you that I am pretty fed up with everyone, pro and con, trying to push their agenda down my throat whether I want it or not...Not that I am all happy with the situation we currently find ourselves in, but I was almost PO'd enough to send this poster back and tell the drowningcreek people to shove it squarely up their spam mail slots...End of my political discourse for today. I order a product, and it comes with strings attached - like some open invitation for them to spew their point of view at me and to accost my sense of rightness - like I am some stupid idiot that needs these guys to wake me up? Getting more steamed..FYI. K
  20. Uh, I may have missed this but - I have a few questions - Boom, do you like music that thumps, large and lush, or quiet and contemplative? The gamut could span from Wagner to say, Debussy - and personally I like a smattering of both - as much as they are played and trite as it may sound, Clair De Lune and the Ride of The Valkyries from the Ring cycle, are spectacular pieces - I personally lean toward opera myself, and could name just a boat load of good opera, but I am not feeling that is your preference? There are a lot of good opera compilations that you may want to look at - I can recommend a few if you are interested. A few of my favorite singers are Ettore Bastianini, Leonard Warren, Franco Corelli, Leontyne Price, Maria Callas, Lauritz Melchior, Renata Tebaldi, Brynn Terfel, Jerome Hines, and the list goes on... On the other hand, there are times when the only thing I can stomach are what I am currently listening to, Palestrina and Allegri's Miserere (1500's polyphonic church music) - I guess what I am asking is are you leaning totally toward instrumental or vocal too? Whether you consider the pieces classical or not - the Gershwin classics are just fun to listen to - American in Paris, Rhapsody in Blue - again, trite, but great. In the more contemporary vein, when I want to test my speakers at good volume and get a good dose of brass, I will throw in Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copeland, a piece that is very recognizeable andjust plain cool. I also highly recommend (in the beautiful quiet vein) Lark Ascending by R .Vaugh WIlliams, actually pretty much anything by Vaughn Williams is just some wonderful modern (not atonal) music - He put quite a few of the most recognizeable English hymns to orchestral versions that are marvelous, the main theme of the movie "Master and Commander" was a famous V. WIlliams piece entitled "Fantasia on a Theme of Tallis", great stuff - fantastic for Klipsch speakers... There is just so much out there, hard toknow where to begin or stop - I don't have the organizational skills of Max, sorry to say. K
  21. Now, they really should get the artist too - don't you think? It was Marvin Gaye, by the by - and I want to say that song was released posthumously? One if his biggest, I think. Tragic by any standards. K
  22. Done - One of the CD's that finds itself in the player alot - " Picket lines and picket signs, Don't punish me with brutality..." K
  23. Are these the right words? That was a Frankie Valli song was it not, Oh What A Night?
