  1. I can't believe they are still there doing it. I saw Klipsch speakers for the first time there back in the late 70s when I was in high school. Your description is EXACTLY what it was then. Very cool.
  2. hey, this works, I knew this girl that swore by club soda to.... aww, wait, bro, that was for stains on her scarf. my bad
  3. I'm running a ML Depth sub...(3) 8" woofers, servo controlled and all that.....$1.8 large but IMO not worth it.......I could have gotten off cheaper and had something more powerful, but it does sound really good. I still don't know why I bought that sub, but its in there so thats it. \ Yes, this is off track sorry
  4. my first "good" rig consisted of an Emerson reciever/8 track combo unit (no rated power but I used to think it was 180 watts cuz thats what it said on the back) bought at Sam Soloman, the speakers that came with it and an old Garard turntable(changer). Oh how I wanted the Panasonic system they had at JM Fields, the one with the Thruster speakers and it had flywheel tuning............ Hey, is that a picture of you when you were a baby over your bed? An interesting touch if so.
  5. He works serving food at the Interfaith Crisis Ministry on his nights off, he visits the elderly and plays canasta with them @ Cooper Hall every other Saturday and is always willing to escort some little C of C co-ed back to her dorm if she's had too much to drink. What a guy. What a great, great guy.
  6. M & K makes a killer system and I think it's in the same price range. I was in a custom dealer's shop and he had the THX 250 set up with twin sunfire signature subs and Krell electronics. It was quite impressive. Not that it's better IMO, just thought I would chime in about the experience. Billy
  7. Those who think it permissible to tell white lies soon become colorblind. EXCEPTION: If you tell them to get laid.
  8. I once drug this chick out of Captain Harry's Blue Marlin Bar by telling her I was a Broad Street attorney and had a house on South Battery.....even drove her by the house but told her we had to go somewhere else cuz the wife was home.......ended up at Remly's Point hammerin' her like I was Arnie Becker(from LA Law lmao) Moral: If you're gonna lie, make it count
  9. your amps, much like your avatar, are immune to the effects of aging.
  10. I wonder if he's been making a fool of himself since 1969?
  11. It may well be there and I don't know what it sounds like. Not being a wise-***, I'm serious. Is there some program for a PC that measures the output at given frequencies and plots on a graph? I guess you would need test tones as well. That would be cool.
  12. Go For It Billy ! Pick me up in Chucktown and I'll ride with ya' and provide some muscle . Nothin But a Thing Dude ! [H] Don't think it's in he cards Willie, But let's go to Atlanta anyway. I'll tell my wife the Brave's are playin'
  13. I can't hear it. It sounds so much clearer and more balanced than the C7 that it's hard to imagine it getting any better. That's not to say it can't, but I simply cannot hear a hump in the 100 hz region. One day when my lazy butt has some time and money, I will get a box built that is the right size and then I will MAYBE be able to tell a difference, but I doubt it.. I do recognize that there are those who can detect this sort of thing, I'm simply not one of them. Billy
  14. Not enough time = lazy:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::>>>>>>>>>BUSTED!! you got me The RB 35s aren't gonna get sold. I'm keepin' 'em no matter what. Just looking for opinions. If that pisses anyone off, feel free not to offer one.
  15. Now that the modified KLF 20 center is running, what should I do for rear surrounds? Keep the (2) RB 35s in a 7.1 configuration or put the single KLF C7 back there in a 6.1 configuration? I definitely will get another C7 but not sure when. Time is not a luxury I enjoy so I'd rather not "A/B" the set up if I don't have to. I guess it comes down to this; would 400 watts of RB35s be better than 200 watts of KLF C7. Any opinions are welcome. Billy
  16. Thanks,it fits in there just like I need. I'm not into moving the computer right now and frankly don't have time to do all that, build a box(or even get one built), etc. One day I may make it the optimum size but looking at Who's graph I'm not losing out on anything if nothing under 80hz is going to the speaker. It is definitely doing what I need in the midrange and up area. This is a major upgrade from the C7. Thanks again to all for participating. I declare this thread officially dead!! But I will start another one on the rear surround question right now. Billy
  17. Hope this pic shows up. The enclosure is one of my original Scott 188t speakers. I had to cut out the original motorboard because this thing is built like a tank; double thickness MDF and glued to high heaven....I left about 1 1/2 " all the way around and cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to fit, then cut out the holes. I cut out 2 ports in the back the same size and installed the flared ports for a klf 20. Once I make a new speaker grill it will be slick. I may re-veneer it but let me tell ya, we ain't exactly interior decorators around here so it'll prolly ride just like that. Like I said, this enclosure is rock freakin solid and the speaker sounds unbelievable. Next question: Do I keep the rear surrounds as (2) RB 35s or a single C7? I mean, until I get ANOTHER C7.
  18. It is done! Hooked up and running. It is late so I wasn't able to really push it, but I did try out a few multi-channel audio selections. Fleetwood Mac Rumors was one test. Stevie Nicks always sounded kinda wierd singing Dreams on the C7, and some of that has to do with the recording, which is good but just not the FWM Rumors I grew up with. Anyway, it sounded really good with the new center. Tomorrow I will really give it a go and recalibrate things, etc. It sounds great in that smaller box. I may just stay with that. Thanks for all the input during this project. Billy
  19. HEY, Putting the center together now..The new K-52 Mid has no pos/neg marking but does have a slash by one terminal....looks like a minus, BUT does that indicate negative terminal or is it marking the positive??Anyone, QUICK!!, i'm putting it together right now. Thanks, Billy
