Pushing the envelope aren't I billybob? Does sound rather nasty huh Dave?

That's funny.....just got a error message that I have reached my quota of likes for the day! I always try to acknowledge replies that are helpful. So if you didn't get a "like" from me I am sorry and I owe you one. Back to coffee. Just went by Trader Joes' and picked up a bag of Kauai whole bean coffee. "Made up of yellow Catuai, a common variety of bean on Kauai, often referred to as "yellow cat"." "The most common flavor that is noticed in yellow cat is a rich, dark chocolate, and is lower in acidity" Later I will grind enough beans for an afternoon cup and report back...... Good link Dave.....back on the slippery slope once again. BTW....isn't it cute how I used "Cables" in the thread title to lure you guys in

Irish Cream comments made me think of Irish coffee that I use to enjoy many years ago. A shot of Irish whisky in a mug of steaming coffee with a dollop of real whipped cream. Bien! Any good hot buttered rum recipes? Mine is pretty standard....apple cider, dark rum, cinnamon sticks, a pat of butter. Served steaming. Now that I am retired I bet either would be good in the mornings

The big island? Great time to visit and yes a nice way to start the day.

I love kona. I have an uncle that lives in hawaii, so birthday and xmas gifts always consist of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and kona coffee. no complaints. +1 on the Kona Carl and Thad, the chocolate covered macadamia nuts and kona coffee sounds like a scrumptious pairing! Somebody wake up dtel.....want to hear more about those New Orleans coffees!

Thanks for those links...may now be on a banana peel headed for that slippery slope. Yikes! I may need a pot for tonight. The Olympics start and Jay Leno's last show. The lady friend (non coffee drinker) wants to see both on my TV and she is a night owl.....I am not. But what's a guy to do....right?

Ah......we have a purist here I like that. May try to head in that direction.

Eight O'clock.....use to grind that for folks when I was a bag boy at the A&P in the mid 60s. Always smelled wonderful. I do have a small grinder and have recently ground (or is it grinded?) some Trader Joe's cheap beans. Okay.....for you serious guys....I bet you drink yours black? No cream, sugar, artificial sweeteners? I neglected to say I use coconut cream and Stevia. That's got to go....right?

My morning routine has me enjoying a cup or two of non GMO, environmentally friendly, green, expensive, co-op purchased, coffee while reading the latest in the cable debate now on page 19 in one thread and a "hot topic" in two others. Pursuing Cal's thread that wandered a bit and ended up in a discussion of coffee I would like to pick the brain of the serious coffee drinkers here and get some suggestions, tips, and advice. Here are the particulars. I usually do not grind my own beans. I drink two cups in the morning....that's it. Expensive to me is more than $10 a pound. I am not particularly loyal to any brand or purveyor. I have a Keurig but routinely use a Mr. Coffee. I guess among serious coffee drinkers, to use an audio comparison, I am in the boom box stage. So what would be a step up?

I like it when the poster doesn't mind that the thread takes a few detours. Folks apparently have something to say about coffee and Cal jumped right in with them Bien! Welcome back!

bluesboy is a long suffering Seahawk fan so I will support his team now that they have made it this far.

Thanks......you enjoy it tonight and I will call for my concert later. It is a very handsome amp!
-
Congratulations on amp number five. Looks like a keeper. I would love to hear it. If I call can you hold the phone up close to the amp
-
Thanks Bruce. Have to say I am a little surprised..........thought there would be more interest and comments here.

Thanks for the link Boxx. Interesting comments at the end mostly pro but a few cons on this man and his lifes work. Concerts without much more than a six or twelve string and a green of kindred souls. No truck load of equipment....no box office. The message was everything......

Anyone recall the songs he wrote and the groups who later performed them?
-
The world dimmed with his passing.....but oh what a contribution he made!

Nope, zero means you have used them all up, need to buy more from Chad. Chad is out as well.....been locking too many threads Black market rate is $17-20 for a package of three!
