  1. I remember hunting ducks with a friend and a biology professor from UNC-W. My friend wades out to throw out the decoys and stepped into a hole deeper than he is tall. All you could see was an arm holding up a 12 gauge Browning....still dry. Hey Tarheel, Is your friend named Richard (goes by Dick)? I'm an alumnus of UNCW with degrees in Marine Biology so I think it may be him. I know he is a humter. Speaking of getting wet while hunting, I was set up at the back edge of a beaver lodge (using it for cover) in waist deep water when a pair of wood ducks came overhead. As I pulled the gun up and fired, I lost my footing and fell backwards on my butt with water pouring into my waders. It was a rather humbling walk back to the truck.... This round of bourbon and water is on me fellas. Carl
  2. Enjoying reading about the high end shotguns as I sip a bourbon and water. Tonight is my value bourbon which is Ancient Ancient Age Ten star (90 proof). It holds up pretty well. I'm glad I only tote around a cheap gun while I stumble around a stray beaver swamp or creek trying to harvest a duck now and then. I couldn't imagine dunking a nice gun in the water in an unseen hole. Cheers Gentlemen, Carl
  3. The wife and I were tooling around in the boat last week and decided to eat lunch there. Enjoyed a nice grilled tuna sandwich and scallop burger..oh, and crab dip. It was a good day on the water. Carl
  4. Ancient Ancient Age 10 star bourbon over ice with splash of water. This is my value bourbon.
  5. http://www.klipsch.com/find-a-theater/ Perhaps the link will help in that endeavor. Carl
  6. A few of those with a splash of water and all of those amps will sound good. Nice weather we had in Wilmywood this weekend.
  7. That is a red drum or puppy drum, the North Caroline state fish. I hope you threw that one and the others back into the water. In North Carolina, there is a slot limit for them, meaning any fish less than 18" and any fish over 27" must be released. You can only keep 1 fish per day that is between 18 - 27". Out at Cape Hatteras they catch them in the 30 - 40 lb range during the Fall run. By the way, what kind of bait did you catch them on? Carl
  8. I have a pair of CF3s and they have a 6" port. In doing some research on them, I found out these speakers were first introduced with the 6" port but then later changed to the 2.5" port. If you do a forum search, there is a member that discusses this in length. Carl
  9. I believe you're right about the topo issues we have. It looks like someone has turn on the "We're Open" sign on that bullseys I mentioned before. Although, Hanna doesn't look too bad and she's not going to hang around long like some others have. Carl

  11. Living in Wilmington, NC, I've had similar experience. Between 1996 and 1999 I watched the eye of Bertha, Fran, Bonnie and Floyd pass over my house. People here joke that there is a huge bullseye at the mouth of the Cape Fear river so the storms know where to go. Carl
  12. I have the same impression you have regarding the kg2. I''ve had a pair of these speakers for almost 20 years and believe they perform very well. For their size, they dig fairly deep and have good dynamics. It's hard to believe they are considered a bookshelf speaker when compared to todays "bookshelf' speaker. Regards, Carl
