  1. How do the KT-77's sound? If they offer a significant improvement over stock EL-34's and the winged c EL-34's, let me know how much $$ and a description of it's sound and I'll mull it over. Again, I'm looking to tighten up the bass and any other improvement over that is welcome.
  2. What would you do with them? You'd be insane to use them in a house. Unless you think you could resell them or actually MOVE them, you've done the right thing by letting them go. Don't lose sleep over it. Buy some Jubilee's or something...[Y]
  3. Thanks for the input; the tubes are glowing, although very faintly. One is so dim I'm not sure it really is glowing. speakerfritz, I was unaware that KT-77 tubes were compatible with EL-34's. What is the advantage? What do lower MU values do to the sound? Also, I've read that if you have individual bias adjustments for each EL-34 (in my case), you don't need to buy matched sets. Is this true? Thanks for your help. Tubes are fun. [H]
  4. I just got a Jolida 302b integrated tube amp. I love the sound so far but I'm new to tubes and have a question or two. 1. Are 12AT7 (E.H.) tubes supposed to glow. Mine aren't and I'm concerned. 2. It appears that all tubes are stock- i'm interested in rolling some Svetlana "Winged C" EL34's to improve sound, but should I also replace the (2) 12AX7's and (2) 12AT7's? If so, what should i replace them with? I listen to classical, mostly piano music, jazz, some rock (Led Zeppelin) and organ music. I am most interested in tightening the bass response for jazz and organ. Thanks for the help. I also run Magnepan SMGa's and sometimes Klipsch KSF 10.5's (with Paradigm Studio 20 v.4's arriving soon). Moderate to loud levels.
  5. Nope. That's an actual screenshot from my computer. Of course there's no way I can verify that: you'll just have to take my word on it. I've seen bids like that before on ebay. It's not uncommon.
  6. Is anyone here going? This will be my first time. I recently started working for a home theater/ home automation installation and design company and they want me to go this year. I will be stopping by the Klipsch booth and I'll be armed with a camera and lots of memory. PS- This is my third or fourth time writing this. I use a Mac and the new forum doesn't play well. (I'm posting this via Safari- I was using Shiira, then Opera before.)
  7. There are -3 of me!? Just kidding. There are really zero of me. That's depressing.
  8. I signed it. I hope they can resolve this peacefully. I can't imagine this great saga ending so bitterly... I think the beginning story would be the most interesting of the present trilogy. I think that movie would be able to show a lighter, brighter and not so destructive side of Tolkien. Here's hoping for the best...[~]
  9. You could do some crazy donuts in that with one rear wheel stopped and both front ones in the air... [+o(]
  10. Two things: 1- I'm glad I don't want a Playstation 3 2- I'm sad I didn't buy one to resell. (These are completed listings).
  11. I must say... that's pretty impressive to stay up on the rear wheels for that long and still go straight. I'd sure hate to sit in the front.
  12. sputnik, if you press command shift 4 you can drag a box around anything you want. It saves the picture to your desktop. A lot easier than a digital camera. Good to see a Mac user.
  13. For organ lovers alike; please watch (especially the last song). Please disregard the horribly recorded song in the beginning...
  14. I saw this on a basketball hoop in Las Vegas. Funnier still, it was in a church. Only in Vegas...
  15. "ever since you've been gone there's been owls pukin' in my bed" (I've never heard the song before, so I took a bit from Dave Barry's humor.)
  16. Thanks for the info Tom! Can anyone chime in on how the KG's would blend with the KSF-C5 center channel?
  17. How do they compare to the Cornwalls? Obviously, Cornwalls would be one of my first choices, but I can't afford them right now. Thanks for your reply.
  18. I have an opportunity to buy some KG 5.5's locally. Link to ad I currently run KSF 10.5's with the KSF-C5 center. Is $300 a good deal for the 5.5's? Also, if I did buy them, I would run the 10.5's as rear surrounds. Would the C5 match the 5.5's? I'm in the process of cobbling a 2 ch. rig together, so the KG's would be used mainly for movies with little music. Any listening impressions of the KG's? They look cool.
  19. Now you're making me want one even more. Maybe two of them.... I would love to hear some 64 and 32 foot pipes bellow through a couple of those. Mmmmm.... Make that diaphone sound like it's in the room. That'll be the day.
  20. I'm jealous. I've wanted an SVS 16-46+ for a long time. Be sure to send in some pictures when it arrives. Have fun!
  21. I'm also in the market for said Cambridge 640. Please tell us if you find a good deal on one.
