  1. You boys need to find something to do. There is an answer to the cause. You and I will never know it. Let it sleep.
  2. Yea, but some folks told me to zip up.
  3. Back roads. Driving the backroads; some asphalt, some gravel and some calichi around Red River County TX. Get out and pee when you needed to. Park on the bare white rock shell during a thunderstorm to capture the lightning flashes. 8 track playing the tunes thru rotted factory speakers. Two stations to listen to but only at night; Chicago and New Orleans I believe WNOE and WLS unless you wanted to hear the Bill Mack over the roadshow nationwide from WBAP 820 out of DFW. Listened to B Mack many nights as my Dad was an over the road trucker that made it by home 2-3 times a year and Mom tuned in as the station would pass word to and from the truckers. Was it Blood Rock that did D.O.A.? Yes, searched. Chuck Cook driving thru the city square with D.O.A blaring /distorting from his '65 Chevelle; the locals never found out that the front door 6x9 grills rotated to gain access to what was in there.

    Stimulus Money?

I have paid by CC for years to get cash back. Logging in to portal tells me that I am not known or some such words. Doing it again to ensure I didn't fat finger it I get told that I have attempted too many time; try again in 24 hours. Based on the calculators I would expect ~$1000 or so for a fam of 4 but one over 18 in school.
  6. They can't get out of their leases to move. We had to pay $250 in order to go from the 2 bed to a 4 bed next fall (that was a rip off). No charge to move out at end of lease but to move within complex two fiddy. My son wanted to move in with 3 other H.S. classmates, didn't particularly care for his current roommate chosen by "personality interview comparisons" and the 4 bed is cheaper so I said ok and signed early for a discount. https://parkwestlife.com/ Jeffrey has a 2/2 in the Towers currently and a 4/4 in the Towers for next year in the fall. Just looked at the apt site's virus info. Would reduction of quality of life like gyms, pool, etc, etc be reason to expect a reduction in rent at least? Closure of High Touch Amenities Beginning March 17, following government guidance, Servitas communities have temporarily closed certain high touch-point and high-density amenity spaces, such as fitness centers (including gyms, yoga rooms), business centers/computer labs (some may be available by appointment only to assist on-line learning), swimming pools, and coffee bars. Green spaces and laundry rooms will remain open and available for resident use – provided that social distancing is practiced.
  7. There are ~ 3,000 residents and I am told by a student employee that ~ 1/2 have remained due to such things as international students, those that do not want to go home, etc
  8. Each apartment has separate leases for each tenant for the 2, 3, 4 bed units. He is in a 2 bed now where subletting is allowed for a fee however, all tenants must be attending A&M so chances of finding someone to sublease would be rather difficult. Just hope to know the status of fall semester in time to request cancellation of next year's lease.
  9. a whole bunch of that famous river's prime novels for free.
  10. Any one local I will take them both and give a finders fee but you have to do the legwork on shipping.

    Stimulus Money?

No I do efile with credit card so we get money back from the CC. I honestly don't get it. Family of 4 with mortgage interest and taxes, one in college (didn't matter when he wasn't), sales tax on three vehicles this year yada yada but still owe. I do claim all dependents all year. I just wish that I say yo, me, wife and 2 kids ya'll take out what needs to be taken out and be even at the end

    Stimulus Money?

I always wait until the last week possible before I pay so no direct deposit info on file like THAT would mean I get sumtang
  13. DOD every 10 years D.H.S. every 5...dam near lost it last time because I forgot to enter a traffic ticket from 1983.
  14. Goodbye clearance, goodbye access to facility, goodbye job. Homeland Sec folks are tough on financial matters
  15. I went back and read the contact; no such clause is in there. I can ask permission to get out of the upcoming August lease but it's up to them to grant. Son tells me that there are already rumors about Fall 2020 being online as well. That frustration of purpose seems to fit. Every resident MUST be enrolled at TAMU C.S. what the point of living there if there are no classes to attend. Anyway I knew I was doomed to pay 3 more months but I have to really consider asking now to be released for the next year. Would suk if classes were held as it's a nice place and walking distance to campus.
  16. Is this the wrong place to ask? Corona related Son attends Texas A&M College Station. He lives in apartment not affiliated with A&M except that the apt. corp. leased the dirt for 30 years from TAMU. He (we) signed a lease for one year 8/2019 to 8/2020. He decided to move from a 2 bd to a 4 bd to share with his high school buds for Fall 2020 term (another year). Discount if you sign lease early on the new place early so I did. BS charges but that's another story. During spring break in March ( date?) the virus hit and in person classes were canceled. Now that there are only online classes I am paying $700 a month for the apt and the boy is living at home. The complex refuses to refund/reduce current lease. The complex refuses to nullify upcoming 8/2020 -8/2021 lease Word (web rumor) is that TAMU summer 2020 will be online only and those courses have been loaded. Do I even stand a chance of getting a refund or lease(s) nullified due to My Corona? I'd pay a $ or 2 to our forum litigators
  17. We have to cover 16 hrs / day 7 days / week. One of our three associate managers has been out for, forever for a knee then a shoulder and now a back. F'n retire already but I digress. Since the remaining 2 assoc. managers have been worn out covering their shifts and the weekends I now cover the weekends to cover the flight schedule, maintenance, etc and work from home during the week on the charts, graphs and policies / procedures / tech manual updates. Retirement sounds good.
  18. Been a wrench turner forever, mother complains that I took everything in the house apart. Installed a 4 track cassette player in our 63 Impala (Wayne Newton Pearly Shells anyone?) building my first small block Chevy @ 15 and started working cars at full service gas stations at 13 (BTW, not one day of unemployment since that day in 1967). Been an aircraft mechanic for the last 47 years. My son doesn't know which hammer to select to install a straight slot screw.
  19. Just do a search for BANK NAME mobile deposit. All 4 of my banks / credit unions have their own app.
  20. I may be wrong (never happened before) but I think the only a$$s he has now is for the virtual labs but none prior to the lockdown.
  21. I actually miss the work; now all charts, spreadsheets and predictions...f'ng boring
  22. Yep. BIMS (still getting used to acronyms, BioMedical Sciences) at TAMU is a bit different. During orientation he was told that his classes / schedule were already selected and just move along. Cool, we got to leave a day early
