  4. Sorry, failed to follow instructions. I went from 3-4 feet to 12 feet. Stand by, new ones coming. Confused yet?

  6. This should be the 12 feet low freq screen shot
  7. This should be the 3 feet hi freq screen shot

  9. Again today. Yo, we need more votes. If the feds and the baseball all-stars can stuff a ballot so can we!
  10. As much as I would like to know something, I don't. From what I have read I would like to have a flat frequency reponse. Based on what you see here what changes in room treatment are in order. Yea, I know, not enough info. So let's just ask this, how BAD is it? Sounds good and that's what counts I know but some data should indicate cost/effort vs return and I'm looking for you acoustic guys to pipe in here.
  11. Got my PAA3 back finally, and took a snap shot of the room using pink noise thru the 2 channel stuff. I am going to try to better the room and have no idea what I'm doing, as usual.
  12. CB, do a google for "free photo hosting" and pick out a service, photobucket, flicr, etc. Save the photos to that site and then post the link. If anyone knows a better way or can recommend a site, don't hold back. Yea, right, these folks are much too shy.
  13. Original xovers were the ABs, Bob's are marked Type A-4500.
  14. and the fix is.... (I see the electronic band aid you mentioned) but hardware wise?
  15. You are right. I am very familiar with the redbook version but the XRCD is new. Of course I can not find the redbook now, it's here darn it, it's my standard. Popped in Sam McClain XRCD and I don't get that soggy lower mid/upper low. I'll shut up and listen for a while. Damn, where's that CD?
  16. Playing around trying to listen to some music. Kids and wife in bed race is over. What I'm listening to: Dire Straits Brothers in Arms XRCD Jolida 100 modded by Hotrodaudiomods (about a year old) Juicy Music original Peach (fresh from Mark) Mcintosh MC-2125 (fresh from Terry Dewick) Klipsch Belles (BEC 4500 xovers and CT-125 tweeters) What I hear/feel/think: Lower mids to upper lows are mushy, not well defined. Upper mids to highs sound great. Imagining very good to excellent. Depth , well not so much. I feel the lows but the 'transition' from woofer to mid (at least somehwere around there) is just not cutting it. Analogy: someone standing up in a flat bottom boat. Things I have recently changed are switch from Mc C-28 preamp to Peach- didn't sense that when I first swapped. Peach rebuilt and different tubes installed-I didn't get this feeling before it was rebuilt. New media, need to listen to same CD in old format, off to do that now. Next for troubleshooting 1) go back to Redbook CD 2) install original tubes back in Peach Just logging thoughts and asking if anyone see's a problem in the setup. Sometimes a fresh mind can spot something. As I type this and edit, I realize that I just should pop the redbook in and listen.
  17. Congratulations Joe!. I was 47 when I had my first, you could not have put it any better, ain't nothing like it. BTW, protect your face when changing diapers; boys will be boys
  18. Good luck with that Richard, I've been looking at those at the ND site and got even more confused then my normal state of mind. But time now for NASCAR!
  19. an then all we need is the media and the money to upgrade to the hardware that will send it to the new and improved HDTV. I just want a BluRay that will output 7.1 via analog so I don't have to upgrade AVRs AGAIN (yea, it's coming but...). What good is a display without the media and all the equipment in between?
  20. C'mon, don't leave us hanging. How many programs is "a few?" And as far as being worth it to switch, are we talking it's so good that I should switch providers, or if I already have satellite, it is worth it to switch? Let's just say this. I am using a 5 yo 1080i DLP and do some unofficial testing that anyone can get into with DTV (multi-room video, Direc2PC, single wire multi-switches, video and audio streaming from PC, etc). The 1080p programming is much better than the other, now I can not swear what makes the difference, I suspect that it's simply a matter of bandwidth as I SHOULD not see a difference as I only have the 1080i. But the picture is much better. If you have DirecTV and want to get in on the "cutting edge" visit this site, abide by the rules and take your chances. New software most every weekend. http://www.dbstalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=118
  21. Think space is a problem? Just see what your wife thinks of this. Pay no attention to the 'crack' in the right stand "V", hinges were still in work. What I'd give for several more feet in width!
  22. That's the plan. I got deep cleaner, regular cleaner, rinse, stylus cleaner, brush and pads, extra felt pad for the VPI, and a bunch of MoFi sleeves to put them back in. Need to get a couple of pickup tubes/felt pads for the RCM but they were not in stock. how hard is it to change just the felt on the VPI pickup tube if the tube is in good shape? I asked on the local community forum if any one had any LPs and got several hundred donated! Last year I asked if anyone had any big old ugly Klipsch speakers and got a pair of H1s on the really cheap, they live at dklowery's house now.
