While we are reminiscing...after USN retirement I was working at a company overhauling Southwest Airlines engines at $10 an hour; needed a j.o.b but didn't fit in as I worked 8 hours during an 8 hour shift and the union folks didn't like my efforts. I answered an ad in the Dallas Morning News recruiting for a CNC machinist with no experience necessary, well that fit my qualifications. Went to the small company and 'interviewed' for 6 hours with a tour of the place, introductions, etc. I was asked what I expected to be paid. This place was interesting, would teach me new skills and was a closer commute so I answered $10 an hour. Dude looked at me and asked just how much experience I had? I responded well, 6 hours total now after today. He asked why I should be paid that much? Well, you advertised for no experience necessary and I can guarantee you that I can learn it faster than anyone else off the streets. I was excused One week later I was asked if I would accept the job on my terms. I did and it was a great job but then a better opportunity came calling and here I am today retiring from Lockheed after 21 years on New Years eve. Sad part is that I have to go back to work with a new company on January 1st.

My son is attending Texas A&M. He will have enough hours to be a junior after the spring 2021 semester. His major is Biomedical Sciences with a lifelong ambition to go to med school and become a surgeon. Today he received a job offer from his physics professor to be a teacher's assistant next semester. Background resume is that he became certified as a CNA, phlebotomist and to administer EEGs and EKGs in high school. He interned at the children's hospital and assisted living facility during breaks and summers in high school. Question: would the time required to properly perform as a TA (at $15.00 per hour) pad his resume for grad school application enough to offset the hours and loss of current study time? Current GPA 3.8 and I feel that he has the ability to better that with some more effort; he is not overly taxed with school work (according to me based on free time observed).

This will be Node2i, NAS and Oppo UDP to Parasound Halo P6 and thru the Xilica to a pair of Halo P6s and the Jubilees . I have several TV options for the 2 channel side but a new Sony 77" OLED is coming for the HT I reserve the option to swap rooms when things arrive for best value.

Listening seat distance from plane of the Jubs? Sweet spot width? I am used to exact center sweet spot or lose of all imagining by moving L/R a foot or less with other setups THIS IS ONE OF MY MAIN ATTEMPTS TO FIX. Reminder, not in the new place and never Jubs but past experience with KHorns, LaSacala, Belles, Cornwalls, etc all in less than perfect or just pitiful rooms.

What does that say about the other Schiit DACs (diminishing return on investment?) and / or the Bifrost multibit upgrade in a normal room with SOME ability to use front wall corner bass traps first side wall reflection dampening?

Not really, I have a couple of months to return the Pany if the Oppo doesn't 'play' out. For the Oppo I have owned most every variation since the 83. I had the 105BD when the 203/205 came out. Had the 205 in the cart but hesitated and lost out so got the 203.

Budget <$1000.00 Use: in a two channel setup with Parasound P6 preamp and A23+ amps thru DSP to Jubilees. Other source is a bluesound Node 2i for streaming and from NAS I might have a TV between the Jubs for the occasional video but I have some input that the TV reflection would degrade the sound. I have an OPPO UDP 203 but plan to use that in another room for surround HT but I could swap that in and get another Blu Ray for the movies. What say you?

No, left them several years ago when they doubled our auto and house rates with no claims but the kids started driving. I use an independent broker out of Katy, Tx. Moving in two weeks and I have every box for everything I have purchased (and kept). Cornwalls, SVS PB4000s, McIntosh, phones, ipads, sewing machines, xmas decorations, TVs and mounts, PS4, XBox, routers, switches, security cameras. recorders, those things that make loud noises, computers, monitors...the three attic ladder areas are full. I am close to throwing every box away except the cartons for the McIntosh stuff, 3 Cornwalls and 2 SVS subs. With the Jubs coming that is more BIGGER boxes.
