  1. Indy: That would definitely hinge on what your definition of "naughty" and "nice" means.... It's my understanding that she (dtel's wife) has been consumed with "Santa" duties. Last time we talked she was neck deep in Christmas presents that needed to be wrapped (which isn't saying much since she's only 5ft tall). BUT, nevertheless, I think that's what happened, Christmas sucked her in! I think most of what she was doing was stuff for the grandkids (she has 5 of them).
  2. I knew that this thread would produce some kind of response, but phew....the interesting guesses!!! It's really going to be tough for mom to have to look at this wrapped gift until Christmas and NOT KNOW what's inside! [A]
  3. They've got all the TV they can handle in that house! I think the living room is a 52" or 62" big screen plus, at the minimum, a 27 inch in each bedroom. Besides, if Klipsch is outta my budget, a flat screen tv is too!
  4. Okay, here's the deal, I told dtel's wife ( my mom ) that she had to go for a ride with me Sunday when I go down there for a visit. The reason she needs to go is because her birthday/Christmas present is being delivered to her house AND she doesn't need to be there so it can get wrapped. Hmmm, wonder what it could be?!?! P.S.- It's NOT Klipsch! My budget is ENTIRELY too tight for that (except maybe a tshirt LOL)
  5. We are in the process of "remodeling" (if thats what you want to call it) and don't really have the room for speakers. Couldn't really enjoy them at this point so I'm not even considering getting any. I just thought the comment from my daughter was amazing. I often wondered if kids actually payed attention to stuff like that....guess my question is answered!
  6. Ok guys....this comment I'm about to share comes from a 6 year old female (the oldest granddaughter of Dtel/Dtel's Wife). She has heard "paw paw's" speakers for years. She has also recently had the experience of witnessing Buddy's bedroom have a pair of Heresy's installed (much thanks and appreciation to Groomlake and his family as already noted in this thread). This 6 year old female, "Allie" doesn't even have a radio or cd player in her room and has just made "the grande announcement" that she "wants Klipsch speakers in her room". This is my daughter, I don't even have speakers in my house MUCH LESS KLIPSCH. The only speakers we have are the ones installed inside the television (unless you count the computer speakers of which we have two pair). I have NEWS FOR HER (since she's reading this as I type)....NO! Not until daddy gets his first pair of Klipsch...then we'll talk again!
  7. Colter: If properly packaged, baked good do extremely well during shipping. I'll provide my address to you at a later time. J/k....sounds like you had a pretty good Thanksgiving though. [Y]
  8. Tarheel: Will do. Menu was excellent. So good that my husband, my daughters and I decided to put off our drive home (1 hour) until tonight so we could stay and eat again! Ate entirely toooo much[+o(]. Aint nothing like a real "homecooked" buffet! All you can eat....the best food ever!
  9. Ok, bare with me...I am entirely too full to list this in any kind of meaningful order but here is a sample of Dtel Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner: Turkey (2 @15 lbs each--leftovers will be added to a pot of homemade gumbo) Homemade baked mac n cheeze (2 pans) Artichoke casserole (2 pans) Green bean casserole (2 pans) Cornbread dressing (2 pans) Creamed cauliflower (2 pans) Rice and gravy (2 pans) Corn (2 casserole dishes) Peas (2 casserole dishes) Asparagus *** Salad Cranberry Sauce Brownies topped with mini Hershey Kisses **DISCLAIMER: The Dtel family is not responsible for injuries related to overeating.**
  10. This society is so full of greed and selfishness that it's hard for human beings to actually realize that good, honest, caring people really do exist. They tend to be hidden away in forums like this one, but they do exist! Recently is has come to my attention that my family has grown, unbeknownst to me! Apparently, these newest members have some strange names such as" Colterphoto" and "Groomlake" (and there are others). In all honesty, you have become a part of the family. You guys (and not just colter and groomlake) don't realize just how much of a blessing you are to my parents! They speak highly about you as a group and individually also. And that says alot coming from Dtel, who really doesn't say much at all normally! Often times, I actually hear more about you guys (the members/forum/family/friends) than I do Dtel and Dtels wife's grandchildren! I hope you all realize just how "special" you really are to them (and to the rest of us Dtel's)!
  11. and mom...I think your signature needs to be changed as well. You are also entitled to HALF of the newest audio addition![]
  12. Groomlake (and family): I am so sorry that I missed your visit to mom and dads. HOWEVER, I will be there this weekend when you come back through. It's always a pleasure to meet such kind, generous folks like you....and of course the bbq is top notch at my parents' house too! I was there most of the day Saturday but had to leave about 30 minutes before you arrived. Hopefully I can coordinate with my mom and we'll meet this weekend. Buddy: YOU GO BOY! Mom: I think this goes back to your old saying "Full Circle"....because what goes around comes around. Not just because you are my parents, but because of the kind of people that you are. Everything in life comes back "Full Circle" and you always get what you deserve! In this case, you are getting back just a portion of the goodness that you have shared with everyone else throughout your life.
  13. Two of the Dtel (grand)kids in costume. LEFT:Rylee Christy-Claire(16 months) RIGHT: Ashlynn Alexis-Joy (6 years)
  14. If you enjoyed the hamburgers, you should try the bbq chicken he does! Between the HOMEMADE bbq sauce and the perfect grilling (well, sometimes it's not "perfect" but most of the time he's got it)....it's enough to die for! MMmmm, all this bbq talk has me thinking it's about time for another bbq down there. Wha'dya say??
  15. I dont think Khorns were on the shopping list. And if something WAS "possible planned" perhaps it might be a surprise??? Ok well, there's nothing planned, no surprises...good try though!
  16. <-----------BIRTHDAY WISHES FROM US...THE BEST GRANDDAUGHTERS IN THE WORLD [*-)]!!! (okay, well at least the prettiest [8-)] ) HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY/PAW PAW...WE LOVE YOU!
  17. Looks like my mom beat me to it....WAY TO GO DTEL'S WIFE!! WOOHOOO!
  18. Betcha thought this one was going to "slide right by" eh? Happy birthday daddy! Happy Birthday PawPaw!!
  19. Been checking in often...just haven't posted. I'm at work ( [:'(] ) and this DSL is not up to par. The service is rather slow and it takes two year almost to make one post so I try to save it for special occasions []
  20. I know this is sooo not appropriate here, but good morning mom! Love you and miss you! Hope we get to come down soon!
  21. Congrats Mr. Bob Riff. This is DTELS middle daughter (aka: Just_like_dtel). Last year my parents were sitting in your shoes so I know you must be thrilled. As I said last year, Thanks KLIPSCH and all of the dedicated employees who make KLIPSCH happen. I'm not a regular attendee but I know the joys that my parents have found being members of this forum and that says alot. They don't have very many close friends (by their own choosing). So in order for them to continue to be a part of this, it must be something special. Even for those who don't win speakers, the friendships developed here are uncomparable! I have not had the pleasure of meeting any but COLTER and he's a pretty awesome feller! Hopefully, next year will bring us to Indy (or Hope) or wherever all you fine people can be found!
  22. I know you could really care less what I really did this weekend BUT I'll take this opportunity to share some thoughts anyway: Well, I spent today in the yard (thought I'd do some "landscaping" while the "landscapers" were at the PILGRIMAGE)! Got the yard mowed/weedeated with my husband, got some overgrown bushes hacked back. NOW....its just the SIT AND WAIT for that phone call from DTELS WIFE telling me that they won ANOTHER PAIR OF SPEAKERS. Seriously, I really did think they were kidding last year when they called. ACTUALLY, what I really thought was that they BOUGHT SPEAKERS and used the "WE WON SPEAKERS" ploy so we wouldn't think they were totally nuts for buying MORE SPEAKERS! THEN I saw this whole forum thread about CONGRATS DTEL and really felt like an A**!!!! Sorry MOM and DAD...hope you're having a blast! Luv, Jen
  23. Yes, I did. I did say I am proud to be just like my momma. For those that don't know me, let me clarify. I LOOK just_like_dtel(hence the sn)! BUT, I am my momma made over! My momma has all but killed herself to take care of us THREE girls. As a family, we've been through alot. More than most families could ever imagine. You'd never know it, since we all managed to turn out "FAIRLY" normal, but it's true. And honestly, without my momma, we probably all would have killed each other at least ten times around! We've loved, we've cried, we've hated, we've fought, we've made up, AND MANAGED TO SURVIVE. From deaths, to births, and heartaches and happiness. I wouldn't be who/what/where I am today without my mom. I used to not understand her and why she did/said the things she did. BUT, with two daughters of my own (see avatar) I now fully understand EVERYTHING that a momma goes through, puts up with, and tolerates! I love you mom!
