  1. so next year we can call you an old salt? happy birthday--have a great day.
  2. great post jerol...and fini, i hope you didn't throw your back out again celebrating. i had so much energy, i had to take a walk around the block a few times. now those golden arms get some rest before the series starts.
  3. Bacon---oops, wrong thread. Ice cold Moosehead or a couple shots of tequilla.
  4. this game gave me indigestion. but, since i'm a Giants fan, i loved the outcome!
  5. Right on...congratulations. Very good news. you don't want to start off your marriage arguing about those big ugly speakers that are taking up so much room, so perhaps i can take those cornwalls off your hands. consider it my wedding present to you. And i'm right down in Orange County, so i can be there pretty darn quick to pick them up. Again congratulations. Steve
  6. Why? Does it hurt? I wouldn't know, I'm from OAKLAND not SF. All I'm saying is that after seeing that, i wanted to poke my eyes out with a rusty nail.
  7. Just saw this article: CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Some don't like it hot. A Steak 'n Shake restaurant in Cleveland, Tenn., was sued by a couple who claimed it served a hot sauce that sent their son to the hospital. Tim and Mary Katherine Gann said a restaurant server gave their minor child a bottle of Blair's Mega Death Sauce for his chili and encouraged him to eat some. When he did, he broke out in hives, had trouble breathing and suffered severe pain. The brand isn't customarily served by the chain, according to the Cleveland Daily Banner. Mega Death's maker warns that it's "500 times hotter than a jalapeno." A spokeswoman for franchise owner Debbie Richmond said Thursday the company wasn't commenting. The lawsuit seeks $10,000 in compensation and $50,000 punitive damages.
  8. i feel dirty after reading that headline.
  9. Here's to hoping the Tim L. takes a big bong toke, gets in the zone, and strikes out 14 tonite. looks my cornwalls will have to wait--i think i'll buy world series tickets instead.
  10. actually, i started using my igroove in my vehicle--sounds great too. Sometimes it goes flying off the seat; but, i don't fault the Klipsch engineers for that.
  11. The President is pitching today....MADISON Bumgarner. I hope he's on his game, with the Giants anemic offense, i want this series over. Then i can "try" to buy some world series tickets and make the seven hour drive to The City. in case you've never been, the Giants have the most beautiful ballpark in all of baseball. -- Steve --
  12. how can anyone watch dancing with the stars when jersey shore is on? my condolences to the fish, clams, seaweed, sand, and even the litter that is on the actual jersey shore for mentioning them in the same sentence as the tv show. but, wasn't snookie on letterman or leno recently? maybe a mollusk would have provided a more interesting conversation. oh well, i'm sure it's just that east coast/west coast rivalry talking now. this post is probably rather silly; but, i wanted to get in on the conversation and my mind isn't quite right anyways....so this is what you get. Steve
  13. Chris, hope you're doing okay. Tough days for sure. It's never easy--even when you know it's coming. My condolences to you and your family. Steve
  14. Yet another beautiful pitching outing by Matt Cain. This time they actually scored three runs for him. GO GIANTS!
  15. i disagree with boche often. i would have had zito on the roster, just in case you need a long relief pitcher. i definitely think the giant batters are not aggressive enough. i hate seeing so many called third strikes.
  16. i wish someone other than ross could hit the ball. those pitchers deserve some support.
  17. sorry fini--i live alone now (four daughters grown and on their own). right now, i have the SF Giants game on....let's see, i had that on last night too. today was two football games. And the Lakers season is right around the corner. And then there's all this music to listen to.
  18. i have to admit, they make good beer. Love me some Moosehead and Molsen.
  19. glad to hear the epidurals are working fini. i'm sure that GREAT outing by Timmy Lincecum took the rest of the pain away. Man was he hot! Watched every pitch and loved it. Wish I could have been there. A great ballpark too, went there a couple years ago--very beautiful place.
  20. i'm a southern california guy...what is hockey?
  21. best wishes, hope the pain goes away soon.
  22. Absoultely right. I think staiway to heaven will always be on every list (admittedly, i think it's overrated). I would have liked to have seen martin barre on there for the Aqualung solo; and something from (don't laugh) Glen Campbell. During the 60s, Glen was one of the most sought after session musicians in the business and part of the famed Wrecking Crew. It's just someone's list; but, fun to read and talk about.
  23. ..............you know we expect pic's when it's over, or anytime ! There goes dtel the thread killer at it again...asking for pictures? what are you going to do when your wife decides to check the forum? come to think of it, i haven't seen her post in quite some time--i hope all is well with her. And Amy, as a bachelor, I eat out every meal, every day...and i've actually lost 25 pounds. First time in a long while i'm under 200 pounds, and last week i bought a pair of levi's--size 34--haven't wore that size since i was in my 20s. the secret--i just tell myself that the things i like are fat-free. i can't explain it; but, it's like magic, once you say those words, the food becomes healthy. i guess it helps that i hate chocolate and very rarely eat any sweets. My son-in-Law is a former pro-athlete and now is a personal trainer at an exclusive, private facility--he tells his clients to give themselves one day a week to enjoy the foods that they love.
  24. i'm going to come knockin at your door someday at dinnertime--that looks delicious! But was it necessary to post a picture? all i have to look at is an empty pizza box, del taco burritos wrappers, and a box from last night's KFC. ahhhh, the life of a bachelor sounds nice until i see your pictures...now a home cooked meal looks very good. have an extra bowl or two for me--don't let a drop go to waste. Steve
