  1. That's what happens when you turn Roy loose on upgrading 40 year old speakers!
  2. As raindrops fall on my head (raining now), I think of all the great songs he wrote, too many to mention here.
  3. So would a Corvette C8 for $5,000 but it will never happen.
  4. It was a joke from many moons ago AFAICR. I'm the one who should say "Really, bro?" But anny feedback from you here is good feedback, so I don't want to slow you down in any way. Peace, Love, Beatles (with a little Bonnie Raitt thrown in for desert!).
  5. Not to be confused with the Scoop Horn with Wings called "The Little Bastard," by PWK. In more polite circles known as the LB76.
  6. I have no issue with what you have done, but the Patents on a Khorn ran out decades ago. Even PWK himself, in an interview, said they could build/copy a his corner horn but it was the TRADEMARK that protected the name so they could not call it a Klipshorn, not Patents on the design. BTW, I have no real issue with the changes being made here and have full respect for the Klipsch Engineers, especially the Chief. It's all good in my mind. Time marches on and if tightening the reins makes for better travel, so be it. If I were working for Klipsch, I'd be all for doing the same.
  7. Keep in mind that my "Super" Heresy, was named because I replaced a [deleted Bullshit Mod talk, there are other forums for this So basically, I never sold any other product [speaker peddlers are not welcome here]
  8. Hey, I'm a YOUNG Fart, thank you very much! LOL.
  9. Being French Canadian, I never had trouble pronouncing his name properly. I also had a different experience with Dave Malette. During my first trip to Klipsch in Indianapolis, he had a stack of home made CD's he was giving away in the cafeteria. His recordings were some of the best I ever heard, especially the Piano one. Co-incidentally, I have one of those Quadraptor boxes from even before my start at the Forum in 2006, but never used it. Too far down the list of things to try I guess. Too bad we lost another good one, RIP. So do you have 4 Supers to play with? Well, I do. Pretty sure you have enough TI Chip amps to connect, if not, I have a whole bunch of those too. I'll call you in Feb. to discuss. Thanks for your posts.
  10. It's more like "See the babe, photograph the babe!"
  11. I likd the way you got some light under the hat to avoid the dreaded (by portrait photographers) "raccoon eyes."
  12. Based on all the past misnomers, I would just put a K-402 on top and call it Jube McLaren! Or maybe addd a Super Tweeter, only then could I call it a Super Jube McLaren!
  13. You always have cool things to say, and pretty pictures of women to show, including your lovely wife.....................cradle robber! Not to mention your nice house, car, and Audio gear, with those Miniature speakers you listen to.
  14. Adding the small baffle to the bare horn, likely allows for slightly more output at the lower crossover point. Besides, creating a passive network for it would be to reduce the ouput since it's not going through a movie screen at home.
  15. I'm a lot poorer than you think, Mr. Moneybags!
  16. Great way to sell Theater speakers that, I suspect, hardly sold during the pandemic. I'm sure they sound terrific after Roy, presumably, revoiced them for home use!
  17. MTX makes some serious subwoofer drivers though.
  18. I can see your biggest problem is your ROOM, like it is for all of us below about 200 Hz. I read the White Paper by JBL's Todd Welti, and it provided all the answers I needed. Now since my speakers are smaller than LaScalas and actually have too much bass in corners, even EQ's down they go to 40 Hz. which is where I cross my subs. I had a pair of THTLP's also and they were superb, while representing the "best bang for buck" as a price/performance ratio. If you can't have 4 subs in mid wall location, the next best thing is middle front and rear walls with only Two. I believe opposite corners is 4th best, but can be improved by simply Moving your Couch! Do an REW room simulation and see where you get the flattest response. In my case it's smack in the room center, but your mileage may vary a bit from that. Try and see.
  19. Ah, yes. A good POLARITY check is the best advice for Bass prolems. We have all done the 50/50 chance thing on those darn 2 wire things! The result is always the same, regardless of speaker brand, since the woofer carry most of the music Power, they are the first to Inform the listener that something is wrong. The speakers are THE messenger, telling you something is wrong. NEVER blame the messenger in life or Audio!
  20. When I met Saul Marantz (yes THE Saul Marantz) too many moons ago, I spent a good 1/2 hour in the Dahlquist Listening room and chatted with him. He told me to always use solid state for Bass and Tubes for the high end, like he did. Over 4 decades later, time has proven him correct.
  21. Congratulations. You get the Paul Wilbur Klipsch Bullshit button for a whole week over that one.
  22. Another great loss. She had her time and we enjoyed every minute.
  23. Since I can't afford a C8 'vette, my good friend of 45 plus years has 2, including his original 1964 in mint shape. But I copy the rest of your choices!
  24. It's one of the benefits of starting young (built my first speaker at 12). I'm still learning more every day. This hobby is full of positive vibrations (referring to music not woofer cone motion). Music unites us all and crosses all cultural boundaries.
