  1. Do tell, please... I am looking for, not the grandest of sound, but the most musical sub to mate up with my CF-4s (when I finally pick them up) in a smallish room. Have not yet heard them so I don't even know if I need/want a sub. Rick
  2. I'm guessing that will be a NO Rick
  3. Yes, jimbo, I told him they will hibernate in the closet before I lose hundreds! I like collecting, buying and selling gear. They do not have to go now. Rick
  4. Several have commented and asked about the quality of the photos. All of those first photos were done by the previous owner so I don't know how he did them. With that backdrop you tend to think they are not of the same speakers for sale, but I kept looking at them and at the speakers and sure enough they are indeed actual representations. Another person asked how did I not bust the 2MB limit with the first post. Believe or not, the largest size out of all of them is under 300KB, so he must have started with some huge resolution. I don't know a lot about photography, but that's my guess. Rick
  5. A little bumpety-bump, and a reminder that I can hand these off at the Pilgrimage in May. Had an older Vietnamese man, an "audiophile", come over and listen last night. He was pretty impressed with the Heresys, but threw out an insulting low-ball offer and didn't want to budge. He brought these awesome Electa-Print 300B monblocks that weigh a ton and put out 13wpc, and so he cringed when I was connecting my cheap interconnects and speaker wires to it. He made it clear that he was into cables. Towards the end of the session he commented again about my cables, and I replied, "it sounded pretty freakin' awesome, though, didn't it?" He couldn't argue. I had noticed that he had mis-matched 300B tubes in the amp so I gave him a hard time about that! Good times! I have a feeling he will call back and increase his offer. Rick
  6. Anyone have experience with Synthesis Art in Music (Italian) amplifiers? Got my eye on an Ensemble, an integrated amp that uses four EL84/6BQ5 tubes per side in pentode configuration, for 30 wpc. Rick
  7. Thanks - guess I need a log-in to view... Rick
  8. Dave almost forgot but snapped this quick shot before putting the on the dolly
  9. Pretty sure they are Birch Raw, '76 or '78. Will let you know.
  10. These are now pending sale and delivery...
  11. He reused the autoformer and choke.
  12. Basically took out the K-77 tweeter protection circuit; reverted back to Type A, I believe would be correct...
  13. Thanks Dave. Keep the questions coming and I'll check them out. Forgot to mention they also have Crites tweeters and Erik adjusted the network accordingly.
  14. Gonna pass along these Khorns I picked up from a Forum member Erik ~2012. There is a little history on the finish; something about the prior owner inherited from his dad; he and his wife tried to finish them with average success; Erik cleaned them up best he could at the time. Anyhow, they are not all that bad, and they are solid on the performance side. Gonna pass them on for hopefully a quick sale. Gotta down-size for a little while. $1200 firm. Will deliver or meet within a reasonable distance in Houston and surrounding. Can also bring to Pilgrimage in May and hand off there. Will hopefully get more photos this weekend.
  15. Time to thin the herd to raise money for new stuff. Letting go these very fine 1983 WO Heresys and custom stands I had built. Consecutive serial numbers, which is very evident with the well matched veneer. Never opened the back but previous owner said they were stock. They sound just awesome! Do not want to ship but if buyer wants to make all packaging and shipping arrangements then I will. Will deliver or meet within a reasonable distance in Houston and surrounding. Can also bring to Pilgrimage in May and hand off there. Heresys $650 and stands $200. Will sell separate, but the package deal is $800. Audition and pickup in Fulshear, TX 77441
  16. Also traveling on 12 May from west side of Houston to Nashville, AR, just 25 miles west our beloved Hope, AR. Attending Pilgrimage of course, and returning to Texas on 20 May. Also driving trusty Silverado with 5.8' bed. Rick
  17. The seller has lowered the price to $600 Rick
  18. Dave - yessir it was me. My mom lives probably fifteen miles from rockhound, so he dropped them off and received payment from her; she's so sweet, still taking care of her baby boy to this day! Sad part it is, I will not get to see or hear them until Pilgrimage week, when I go to visit her for Mother's Day, and attend the festivities of course. I am really pumped about getting these; the rough finish did not discourage me one bit because I am definitely sound quality first. I do plan to try and clean them up with my limited skills, and probably get them refinished if I decide to keep them long-term. Thanks for the link to the Owner's Group. I will be busy studying that in the next few weeks. I will also be interested in the stand/riser that many have talked about to get the horn up to ear level. I can relate to that theory; that is what I do with my Heresys and it takes them to another level sonically; to my ears they remain one of the most musical speakers I have heard to date...not the grandest in sound, but very musical. Rick
  19. He has dropped the price to $650. PM me if interested.
  20. A co-worker has the following for $800 obo. West Houston/Katy area. Pioneer/Klipsch Surround Sound (2) Klipsch RF-62 ii towers (1) Kipsch RC-52 ii center channel (1) Klipsch KW-100 sub-woofer Pioneer VSX-42, 7.1 channel receiver Pioneer AS-BT200 Bluetooth adapter Aprox 4 years old, no issues, never over-driven – sounds great. Includes remote, antenna, sub-woofer cable and speaker cables.
  21. Not a loose wire, but a spare wire, connected on the other end to Tap 4 on the autoformer. The squawker is currently connected to Tap 3. So it appears the crossover is correct, or at least close, for this setup using Crites tweeters. Bob suggested I go with the A/4500 crossover. Looks like he has added an inductor in the signal path of the squawker, and changed the tweeter cap value as well. Rick
