I didn't see that other thread until after I posted. I bet you are right.

Wow!!!! It says there are 720 members and 2630 Anonymous users on line now and not very much activity. I can't remember seeing that many folks on line before. Is it a server glitch?

I have both the 3910 and the 2910. They both are good machines (i.e. I have had no problems with mine). The 2910 is a better deal for the $$$$ IMHO. Check out the AVS Forum for the owner's thread for the 2910. It's also a good resource to find out about firmware updates and settings.

Speaker A or B ?

My later thoughts are posted above. I was too much of a novice for my first visit to such an event. Thanks for the experience Trey and co. I hope to be invited again. -
Speaker A or B ?
Zen Traveler replied to IndyKlipschFan's topic in Forum Meetup Planning + Past Klipsch Pilgrimages
I chose "A" and was somewhat disappointed because I own B. It wasn't until I got home and played "Building a Mystery," from the 'Afterglow Live" Dvd in 5.1 I realized 2 things: 1) I prefer multichannel over 2 channel and 2) Speaker B {major edit: I mistakenly wrote "A" in original post}was designed mainly to be played with a subwoofer and 3 other channels. All I can say is that listening to Sarah Mclachlan belting out "Building a mystery" in multi-channel, in my HT was more impressive than her singing (another song) in that testing room in 2 channel. That being said, I wonder how 5 speaker "A"s in a multi channel configuration would sound. -

I also have a small room but a high A-Frame ceiling--Acoustically it really helps. I run a "9.2" setup with a Denon 4802R...Incredible! -
Hmmmm. I would stick with a good 5.1 system or possibly consider a rear center channel for a 6.1 set up. Not knowing your much about your situation--that's my 2 cents.

Denon 4802-R. I use both A & B surround during movies and it sounds excellent! I know slightly off topic...

The Mixer

I guess I thought the Indy crew would have the entertainment lined out. I can volunteer to bring some 5.1 media (DVD DVD-A, SACD's) as well. There are several things I would like to hear and compare to what I have at home. I look forward to meeting everyone. -

Welcome to the forum rockos. 2 years ago I had pretty much the same decision you have. I was deciding between the Denon 5803 and the B&K 507--Then the 4802R came along. It was between $1200 and $2200 cheaper than the other 2 and had all of the power I needed. I am still considering using it as a preamp, but haven't felt the need to upgrade, and it's been 2 years. If you are not on a budget then I would take the advice of going separates. You couldn't go wrong. Another idea would be buy the 4806 when it comes out. Use the money you save (assuming it's cheaper) to buy a set RF-5's to use as side surrounds along with your RS-7's(The Denon allows 2 sets of side surrounds;-).Then buy a pair of RB-75's to use as rear speakers in a "9.1 configuration". I have something similar and it sounds Awesome! Good Luck.
