  2. I have a Panamax 5100. It's been in service for about 18 months. I never used my system without it, so I really don't know if it's doing anything or not. The blue lights look nice, and the outlets on the back are very handy. I have had no issues.
  3. I don't see any "made in USA" on RF-63 package box only see simplied Chinese words. I have seen the "made in USA" on Heresy package box. So I question the place of the production of RF-63 ,I don't see the "made in USA" behind the speakers. Any Klipsch employee can confirm that ?? You realize that this question has been asked and answered many times in the past. A simple search would have answered your question.
  4. +1 - I've had my 680, basically the same thing, for a little over a year. I love it, and my wife understands it. A Win-Win!
  5. RC-52 center with RF-62 mains. Must have got your system from BestBuy. For some reason the don't carry the proper center, RC-62. Anyway I have RF-82s with the RC-62 center, and lived without a sub for a year, while arguing with myself, should I or should I not get a sub. In the end, the I should get a sub won out. I picked up an RW-12D. And, yes, it was the RIGHT thing to do. You wont know bass until you hear all the LFE stuff you're missing. GET ONE! If I were you I would pass on the RPW10.
  6. I bought a brand new one, off eBay for a bit less than $500.00. No warranty here either. Here's a current one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RW-12d-RW12d-Reference-12-Powered-Subwoofer_W0QQitemZ220225632289QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3275QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. The Klipsch finishes are in fact uniform. You're talking about mixing speakers with different characteristics. The horns are the tweeters and upper mid in the reference line, and are different, depending on price point. Using the RC-64 with the RF-82 will work, but the soundstage will not uniform due to the differences in design of the horns. The RC-64 horn is the same as used in the RF-63 and RF-83. The matching horn for the RC-62 is the RF-62 and the RF-82. The finishes are the same within a series. I'll agree that the horn differences are not as critical for the surrounds, but than neither is finish since they are mounted away from the mains. IMO, Klipsch is meeting the consumers expectations and price points with it's offerings. However, they could be better identified. With the Series III Reference, Klipsch identified it's premier speakers as Reference Flagship and the lesser Reference line as just Reference. With the Reference IV Series the Reference Flagship designation has vanished.
  8. You don't want two crossovers affecting the sub. The receiver's crossover is the one to use. Set the sub to LFE, which eliminates any crossover in the sub.
  9. Which receiver model lets you do that?!?! I'm just curious!?! Most receivers do. I have a Denon 1907 that does the same thing, and I'm doing just that. HOWEVER, there has been much written on this forum from electrical experts, that call this "Fools Bi-Amping". They say there is not benefit, unless you use an external crossover. Do a search, you'll find much written on this subject. But, maybe my ears are tin, and I'm imagining things. I believe this works for me.
  10. I've seen them go for at little as $200.00, brand new on eBay. There's a couple on there now for around $255.00 plus $35.00 to ship. So, your local deal seems like good one, unless the tax kills it.
  11. Yep, it is indeed a double post. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/102451.aspx
  12. If you can afford it and have room for the RF-62s, get them. Your mids will be smoother and better blend with the two cone drivers in your RC-52.
  13. No The RF-83s replaced the RF-7 at the top of the Reference line. You are correct the RF-63 replaced the RF-5 as second from the top in the Reference line. And Remember, all the real wood models are made in the USA. The vinyl veneer models are manufactured in the orient. The RF-82 replaced the RF-35, and etc. So, the RF-5 was an RF-7 with smaller woofers, but the same tweeter. In it's day, the RF-5 was higher in the Reference line than the RF-82 is today. BTW, I have RF-82s
  14. Just upgraded to Safari 3.1. This was supposed to add HTML enhancements, but it still doesn't work Properly here[N] Also, the posting of smiley's is archaic.
  15. I am a big fan of this group, and the band is not the same without Christine McVie. You are exactly right, she was underrated, and when I watch or hear them without Christine, I miss her.
  16. The RC-64 is not a good match for the RF-82s. The RC-62 is. I have 82s with the RC-62, and the sound stage is seamless.
  17. I have 82s for the fronts and an RW-12d. A lot of folks say their is unwanted noise from the port. I have no such experience. My sub is tight and well controlled. The electronic controls on top are great, because I have mine sitting in a corner, and reaching around back would not be fun. I'm very happy with my sub.
  18. his was the answer I gave you in your other thread: "I'm assuming that your receiver has a sub or LFE RCA output. If so set your sub to LFE and defeat the sub's internal crossover. Set your front speakers to small, sub to yes, and set your receiver's crossover to 80hz. I think you'll like it." Yes - Low Pass should be set to off, as I said above. You don't want two crossovers, you want only one, and that one should be the receiver's. And again, set your fronts to small, not large or full band.
  19. I'm assuming that your receiver has a sub or LFE RCA output. If so set your sub to LFE and defeat the sub's internal crossover. Set your front speakers to small, sub to yes, and set your receiver's crossover to 80hz. I think you'll like it.
  20. I just cranked mine up. No Noise. Mine is located in a pushout corner with thick carpeting between the left front and the center. No Noise from the Port. It sounds Great to me.
  21. I've got an RW-12d and hear no "ping pongy" sound. I've never heard a sub-12, but am very pleased with my RW-12d.
  22. You want abuse. Come here fella, and I'll show you some abuse. Wow, Some people????????
