  1. This pair is now sold to a local Klipsch fan. Thank you.
  2. Sold.....Klipsch Epic CF-3 speakers for sale for $400. Excellent functional condition and good cosmetic condition. The speakers themselves sound and work great just as they should. The cabinets do have some scratches that you may want to touch up. The grilles do not have the logos but are otherwise complete and do not have any tears. These are not the series 1. I can't ship these anywhere so they can only be picked up here in the local Los Angeles area.
  3. I've had only very good experiences with audiogon. Having said that, it looks like this guy is a total scammer and I suggest you ignore his contact with you completely and wait for a real buyer.
  4. So is it safe to say that if the the plastic ports behind the grille mesure 3" then they are the less desireable later version?
  5. The Apple Stores have a "Genius Bar" staffed by a few experts at the back of the store that will answer Apple product support questions in person and for free at the store. You can make an appointment online (strongly recommended) as this support is very popular given it's availability and price. I think the closest Apple Store to you is: 8702 Keystone Crossing Blvd. Indianapolis, IN 46240 (317) 574-8601 I've carried in desktop and laptop computers (current models and not) before and they have helped me work through OS and application problems/questions. If the hardware is broken, they won't fix it there but will send it off if that's what you want(not free unless under warranty). I've never had to send anything off before though. Haven't noticed any service from Microsoft like that for their computers or was I just not noticing?
  6. I'm old school on this one even though some sellers are going the positive feedback first route. If I'm the buyer and I've sent the money in a timely way and the buyer receives it, I've completed my primary obligation in the deal and should be eligible for positive feedback right at that point. If I'm the seller, on the other hand, I still need to deliver what I've sold as described in a timely way before my primary obligation is met and my feedback comes when I deliver on my end of the deal. If the seller witholds feedback until he has positive feedback, then it becomes one sided in favor of the seller and defeats the balance in the process. I just don't bother with feedback either way if I'm the buyer dealing with a seller who insists the buyer goes first.
  7. Great to hear it all works so well. As soon as Verizon offers the service, we'll be there too...probably not far off at all...
  8. Hmmm...the vacuum fix from the thread seems like a good idea...
  9. If the cap is pushed in, I've had success getting one back out using adhesive box tape. Make contact, gently pull, do it several times, not too hard and it will come out with a bunch of attempts. Slow and steady progress is key...looks almost as good as new.
  10. I do the craigslist searches every day too...sometimes more than once...sometimes the broader search like "electronics" and "speakers"...now I'm going to look at crazed list. What's next?................?
  11. I say buy the Belles and get 'em hooked up and start listening. I've had mine a short time but I sure spend a lot more time listening to all kinds of music now! If the price is reasonable, you can't go wrong.
  12. I have been following the saga of these speakers and I agree with Buckster 100%.
  13. I have the VPI Scout and the VPI 16.5 and highly recommend both. Cleaning records with the 16.5 has worked out fine for me but I started out with that system. I also use an Allsop Orbitrac 2 manual system to preclean before the VPI if I find an LP I gotta have that has a bunch of mold on it. It works well at getting the mold off and the 16.5 brush doesn't get gunked up. If I put on some music and grab a beer, I can go for at least 30 minutes of cleaning the old vinyl. You can probably clean about 30 records or so in an hour so at $1 per clean, outsourcing is a little expensive if you have a lot of vinyl to scrub up.
