  1. When I was in the market for a center and had some room constrants Trey auditioned an RC-64 with the LS II speakers in his house and suggested one to me as a viable alternative........ I think it worked out great, yes it may not be perfect but it is pretty freekin' good!
  2. I agree this is one to buy.......watched it tuesday and also friday.......my only problem is I have two paintings on the wall above my screen and have to straighten them after the movie......there is some punch to the sound in this one!
  3. I rarely post, but my thoughts and prayers go out to OB, his family and all who have come to appreciate his comments over this forum....Harry, I hope it is a small comfort to the Buckster that his wellbeing is in the thoughts of so many, not just from his home country but also around the world.....when you have such a diverse group pulling for you it shows that OB is a blessed man............
  4. I have never heard the RC-62, but I have the RC-64 hooked up as my center with LS II"'s for fronts........I realize there are timbre issues however this setup sounds great........I have a larger issue with my Heresy's as surrounds than the RC-64 as a center. In a perfect world I would have LS II's across the front, but with room limitations the world is not perfect and I am very happy with the way my system sounds, and I feel that most of you might be surprised that it may be an "R" series speaker but it is a good sounding substitute. Sure Heritage rules but somtimes you do what works best for your situation.
  5. Don't you know, you could make more money as a butcher so don't you waste your time on me.......Zappa was such an inspiration.....I would log in anytime to retort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't need to log on even lurk because: "I'VE GOT THE CRYSTAL BALL" Well I snatched it all away from him and showed him how to do it right.........Sorry, but I couldn't resist......I promise to leave this thread alone, although now I can't get ZAPPA OUT OF MY HEAD......It is now time to log off, turn off the computer, and crank up the sound system with some 30 year old tunes.........Chillin out............Steve
  6. Don't you know, you could make more money as a butcher so don't you waste your time on me.......Zappa was such an inspiration.....I would log in anytime to retort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. My son and I have over 50 Blu-ray movies and love the format.......one to consider if you have the sub power is Cloverfield. You have to get used to the picture format because it is shot as a one person documentary with a hand held camera (like Blair Witch on steroids), but it is good and the sound is incredible. When you crank up the sound the bass response will exceed any movie we own.....between Jet aircraft, tanks, machine gun fire and all other types of explosions the rumble is enough to satisfy most bass junkies out there......again if you can rent it first do so, but I think it is good enough to buy just to show friends what a good HT sound system can do fo for movies,
  8. I work for Frit-Lay and the other day at our warehouse a driver found a Racoon setting in the drivers seat of his truck eating a bag of Nacho Chips, the coon looked to weigh about 15 pounds...... one that size would eat you for lunch before you would get him, they may be cute but Racoons can be mean sob's!
  9. Bill...the latest home theater pics are linked below.....your 79 Heresys are now my rear surrounds, my son has my H III speakers in his room as mains with some 901's as sorrounds I was going to make some slanted risers for your old speakers, however the stands for the 901's did a very good job raising the Heresys enough for rears. Bill... thank you for giving me some time to enjoy your '79 for now , my son will probably have them before it is over with.... 10. congrats.....the LS II sounds better the longer you play them....if you go for surround sound, three cherry H III's would be a knockout!
  11. Sorry about the screwup on my above post alittle bit of knowledge and a ruaway mouse can cause more trouble than the pictures are worth!!!!!! Steve
  12. 13. If you are looking to use LS II in a HT.....you might want to check out my pictures, they are listed under my profile.... Re: Trey....new pics are up...Klipsch all the way around..... The only change in my situation is a HK receiver, and I now have my Heresy III's placed on the floor. I know this is not the best way for rear surrounds but the bass is better and the risers help point the sound towards ear level...... This system sounds great in 2 channel with the sub adding depth, it also does the trick in 5 channel stereo especially since the H III's are now broken in with plenty of playing time.......The center speaker works very well but I would eventually like to get another LS II for the center.... it also kicks in surroun, my son and I have probably 50 BRays Good luck with your system choices... Steve
  14. I have the RC-64 as my center and just needed a slight tilt, so I took a strip of wood roughly 30 inches long and 1X1 stained it with alittle walnut stain, and glued a strip of felt on the wood......placed it under the front of the speaker. It blends in and gives just enough tilt to direct the center towards the listening area.....if you look under my posts I have one to Trey showing my LS II's and Heresy III's.....the RC-64 is also pictured......good luck! Later...............Steve PS............I slso put a little laquer on the wood to give a little shine
  15. I.m also proud of the Klipsch Southern""""Heritage""""", which is why I own LaScalla II's and Heresy III's..............Steve
  16. Actually I love this type of story hitting the press, it will hopefully keep more yanks from invading the south when they want to retire.....I live in central Arkansas and some of the finest lakes in the country are an hour from my home......peace out................Steve
  17. I have been lucky to see Stu Hamm and Victor Wooten both play and the amazing thing about them is that these are small guys.....bass players with average size hands that do amazing things on their bass. I've been a fan of Stanley Clarke and Jaco since the 70's ....Return to Forever for SC and Weather Report for JP were fusion that stand up thirty years plus after they were recorded...... Every style of playing is impotant but for every one who dug some memorable hooks, think about the Funk Brothers of the 60's and 70's.It may not be your cup of tea but they put down a strong groove, while Donald "Duck" Dunn was doing it with Steve Cropper on guitar in Memphis with people like Otis Redding...
  18. RT12-d for sub-punch in movies......the LS II's and RC-64 carry really good bass response but big bangs need a little extra punch and depth, I know there are bigger ways to approach the end result, but the 12 is really all I need.......I guess there can never be too much from a sub but for me this is enough.
  19. I have a pair of LaScala II's for my front L/R and some Heresy III"s for my back.......great for music or movies......I finished my set up with an RC-64 and RT-12d and you get a solid center and big punch for those explosions and gun fire from "Letters from Iwo Jima". Ii've got some pictures posted under Home Theater......to Trey's attention, check it out, Trey was a big inspiration and help in guiding me through the process. Later.........Steve
  20. They may not be a match made in HERITAGE HEAVEN........but the RC-64 is a great center channel and does a really good job. At some point I hope to do a dedicated HT would like to go with another LaScala.......but I am very pleased with the way things sound at the present, although I know most forum members feel strongly that the 64 has no place with LS II's my untrained ear is "happy" and I have no regrets with my setup.
  21. Trey....finally have everything in and set up.....besides speakers I'm including my old Beogram 3404 which I got around 1980 and the PS III for Blue Ray. I had a lot of great input on placement for the rear Heresy III's, however I ended up getting some monitor stands from Guitar Center fo $70 out the door....then took the most important suggestion which came from my wife...until we can possibly do a dedicated HT...the stands are as good as it gets, and after 27 years as my wife her advice is the one that counts the most.....Later..........Steve http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0203.jpg http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0202.jpg http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0201.jpg http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0199.jpg http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0196.jpg http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o129/Snajdan1g/?action=view&current=100_0195.jpg
  22. I replaced one amp and sold a pair for $600 to a friend...... he really was tight for space and the powered subs sounded great. I probably owned them for seven years, and always loved the way they sounded with the sub seperated out for the LFE..........
  23. Now there is the Roc I've grown to" love"...........man I am outta here................... Jeez....now he has me doing it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Thanks for your input.....I have seen some DIY plans for stands that could probable be safe at four to five feet in height, but when I do post some pictures you will see what I mean about limited options......I really am excited about the Heresy III's and would like to place them as well as possible under my circumstances......and as sweet as my wife is, I still want to try to keep things where she doesn't feel I've totally overpowered the room. It could be a close call! I would like to go with Heritage in the center channel, but to be honest to my untrained ear the RC-64 is such a good speaker that I really am pleased with it, and once again it really fits my space. Later....Steve
  25. Kaiser you rule.......I promise to do my best to never ever chime in on a persons posting addictions, my point was just to see how long it would take Roc to fire one back in my direction.....me bad. Roc, I am sure you are a grest person and I never would try to hurt any ones feelings or gang up on another forum member.....Hey in my short time everyone has been helpful and supportive to any post I have made. I've learned some things that have been great in my search for a limited bit of speaker and HT knowledge....................In roughly six months I now have a pair of LS II's, RT12-d, an RC-64 and hopefully by next week a pair of Heresy III's......my head is swimming in a pool of Klipsch. To close this POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thnk this a great place with some top notch people, and I know it will stay that way. Regards to all, and to all a good night!
