  1. Mr. BEC hit this one on the nose, pay pal is on the up and coming since E-Bay over here!!!! This would probably be the best solution.
  2. I think the first question to be answered is what is the budget?
  3. Hi and welcome, What type of budget are you on? Do you want to buy once and forget it or could you wait a couple of years for an upgrade? Are the Reference night/day better??? [*-)] This is where the oppinions differ greatly. I have the RX-V1800 and am using the F3 fronts, C3 center and S3 surrounds with a sub-12. If you can wait to upgrade I would suggest to buy F3´s, the F1 or F2 don´t even come close to the Reference. IMO the F3´s can hold up their own to the mid´s of the Reference series. This is a price class of 1000 per speaker (RF-63). I could not test the RF-82 (600 a piece) but found the F3´s better than the RF-62 (500 a piece), once again this is just my oppinion. The F3´s are about 600 per speaker. The F3´s would also go better with the center that you have at present. So in this example you have a 7.1 system finished. If you want to buy once and forget I would go with the higher level Reference (RF-63 or 83) and new center (RC-62 or 64). If you change to Reference Floorstanding then it would be advisable to change the center due to the fact that they would harmonize better (Timber matching I think it is called). Or for that matter Heritage if you can get a good deal on used. A lot of answers to this question and you have to find the right one for you. [] Go out and listen, your ears will give you the answer!!! Ran
  4. No problem! Concerning your bank account number from the "German" point of view it is no problem, here in Germany it is normal procedure. I as an American had to get used to that myself. Do whatever you feel is correct of course. Ran
  5. Unverschämtheit, for this comment I challange you to come over to Germany and we will do a round!!! And we will not stop testing until you accept the fact that German beer is better or we are both under the table!!! We meet at dawn with frosted mugs!!!(Did you feel the white glove thwacking on your cheeks???) I agree that Belgian beer is tasty, but is far insuperior to a good German Bräu. [] Ran (This said very light hearted and good humored!!!!)
  6. For this reason my next suggestion, the soundtrack to the film "keinohrhaase" (no ear rabbit, don´t ask, I have not seen the film;)) from actor/producer Til Schweiger The Killers - Mr. Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont Mix) Deepest Blue - Deepest Blue Is It Love (Score) Rea Garvey - Anna & Ludo / Hold Me Now Springtimes (Score) Angels & Airwaves – Lifeline Autumn Leaves (Score) Keane - Everybody's Changing Prefab Sprout - Looking For Atlantis Rain (Score) Bloc Party - I Still Remember Liquid (Score) Angels & Airwaves - Everything's Magic Some Time (Score) Au Revoir Simone - Sad Song Timbaland feat. OneRepublic – Apologize A Rainy Day In Vancouver (Score) Kashmir - Rocket Brothers Perfect Circle (Score) Cheyenne Blue (Score) This is a compellation of Pop, Rock, Alternative and classic Film score. Although not "normal top 40" material this is a nice laid back, drink your wine type of CD with good earworm quality. Ran
  7. Hi Speakerfritz, This could be to late but I just read this post, so for Information. When we import into Germany we have to pay extra taxes, this is 19% but the coustomer should know this, if not his amp will be waiting for him at cusoms until it is paid. These taxes have to be paid even if it is a gift!!! Normal Western Union or even a wire transaction is no problem. I have imported things from the States and normaly a wire transaction is credited within 2-3 Days. I think is is best Bank to Bank, for this you need a SWIFT and IBAN number, if you go to your bank and get these the customer could deposite direct to your account. This is normal procedure here in Germany. Hope this helps Ran EDIT: Oh, BTW, I would suggest to ship with UPS, TNT, FED EX or any other big name, UPS is the most trustworthy here in Germany, just my experience.
  8. I like to watch it in German without subtitles. They only confuse me.[]
  9. A plane is standing on runway that can move (some sort of band conveyer). The plane moves in one direction, while the conveyer moves in the opposite direction. This conveyer has a control system that tracks the plane speed and tunes the speed of the conveyer to be exactly the same (but in opposite direction). The question is: Will the plane take off or not? Will it be able to run up and take off? Why does this work with water and not with a belt??? heheheheheheheheheh
  10. It is supposed to be "the best speaker on the planet" and it is a small jump if you have $140,000 chump change []
  11. I agree with Steve_L, I also own the F-3 with sub-12 and surrounds and am a very happy camper. These speakers get extreamly loud without distorting. I personally (my wife as well) liked them better than the RF-52 and 62´s. I could not demo them against the 82´s so can´s say anything there. The 63´s and 83´s are different beasts alltogether so you cannot throw them in the same boat. I would probably update them with the RF-83´s but I first need to save the 1,200€ a piece (and that could take years). shame on me as well Ran PS: is your avatar an Alexandria X2?
  12. The new Yamaha recievers all have YPAO, if everything is hooked up properly it should find the speakers and sub itself. Have you tried the auto calibration? Yamaha suggests that the gain should be a little under 1/2 and the freq. crossove on the sub set to the max. I have found with my system that I had to tweak afterwards but the reciever found everything. Nice reciever by the way!! Ran
  13. No problem with the help I am new to this as well. You are right thoug the cleaner the watts the better the sound!!! As far as uploading pictures I have no Idea as well. You could PM a Forum Admin and they will surely help. I know there is a FAQ I just cant find it, sorry. Enjoy Ran
  14. Here is a translation of the reviewers thoughts: I am not an Audiophile so some of the terms in German were direct translations (heck sometimes I don´t understand the terms in English []) and one guy I thought was talking about wine and not a speaker. Bon Appetit!!! Loud and clear Led Zeppelin opened the session with the live version of their blues classic „Since I’ve been loving you.“ - a home game for the Klipsch. The Palladium polarized stronger by classic and jazz. Wolfgang Bors“Tie!! I liked the Klipsch a lot, for all the new Symphonic line. KEF has it´s plus points as well though.” Dietmer Pfeffer“The Klipsch has no chance against the huge 3 dimensional panorama of the KEF. Their plus is the extremely tight, lively reproduction of modern music.” Rüdiger Fröhlich“The Klipsch has everything that a world class quality speaker needs: clean highs, strong bass, lack of coloration, dynamic. I find that the KEF is more “correct” on classic though.” Hans-Dieter Rausch“At my sitting position by 2,5m the illustration of the Klipsch was to “in your face”. The KEF was more rounded and won by a nose.” Andreas Lucewicz Sorry cannot translate properly (he writes very Audiophile), basically he said that the Klipsch´s tonal coloration is to dominant. So to say did not like them to much. Boooooooo[:^)] Ralf Scheerschmidt“The Klipsch are more present with strong bass which makes them more reliable (tonally). The KEF seems to be slower, analytical, however their soundstage is deeper.” Paulo Fernandes“Two completely different sound philosophies meet each other: the very open, tight, natural sound of the KEF and the powerful, impressiveness of Klipsch.” Ran
  15. Hi Ran, I actually have the full review article on the Palladium from Audio magazine, but we're lagging a bit getting it translated....have you seen it? Hi Amy, I don´t have the full review article on the Palladium from Audio magazine but would love to see it. Do you need the entire article translated or just a part of it?? I would be glad to help if I can! You can post it here or send a PM, I could see what I could do. Ran
  16. Herbert Grönemeyer is also in that film, now he only does music. He did the "Theme song" for the Football (thats soccer for you yanks[]) WM in 2006. Cool energetic song and his concerts are always packed.Ran
  17. Hello there Doc Try here http://apcc.com/tools/cable_selector/index.cfm Hope that helps Ran
  18. I am also glad you started this thread, I had been thinking about it for a while but this just gave me the push!! For those of you who want to stop now is the best time. I did not think I could ever stop because I really enjoyed smoking. That sounds crazy but it is true!!!! There was nothing better that working in the garden in the fresh air and then sitting down to see the fruits of my labour, drinking a nice cool one and lighting up. Man what was I thinking???? Thanks[D][Y] Ran
  19. I hope I can answer this. If I read this right you have the B&K pre already, good. If this is a 5 or 7.1 system connect the fronts to the Adcom for the RF7 and leave the rest hooked up as they are to the Anthem. The differences of the amp output is moot for the pre-amp, thats why it is there to control everything.[] Of course you have to readjust everything to balance the fronts to center and surround due to the large difference in wattage. This is best done with a dB meter, search the site for info or mabie someone with more experience will chime in and help with adjustments. Hope this helps. Ran
  20. If you get a Yamaha most of them have 2 or more HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. You could just connect the cable box to the amp and the amp to tv. My reciever is the RX-V1800 and I have the possibility to input 4 HDMI and output 1, also all combinations of Composite or normal video input to HDMI is also possible. My model also upscales. The HDMI is "better" because audio and video goes over one cable. At the present my DVD is connected Video over Comp. Audio over Coax, DVB-T is normal video and analog connections. Then with HDMI to my TV. Works like a charm. The good thing about this IMO is you do not have to change TV inputs and everything is controlled over the reciever. Hope that helps Ran
  21. Damon thanks for the interview!! Well done keem ém commin!! I understand what they are saying about, putting it into my words, getting into the big league of speakers. With the Palladium Klipsch has the "6th Best" Speaker in the world and if you actually look at the price tag it is a bargan at $16,000 Taken from Audio but also crossreferenced to other "Audiophile" mags here in Germany. 1) Wilson Audio Alexandria X2 140,000 2) JBL Everest DD 66000 49,800 3) Backes BM35 56,000 4) Revel Ultima Salon2 26,800 5) Focal Grande Utopia Be 70,000 6) Klipsch Palladium P-39 F 16 ,000 7) KEF Reference 207/2 20,000 IMHO Klipsch has the widest line of speakers in every price class and all of them are of supurb quality. Keep up the good work KLIPSCH!!![Y][Y] Ran
  22. It is dubbed in German the Germans like to keep everything in their language.[] Just about everyone around us to the north (Netherlands, Denmark and Scandinavia) keep it in English with subtitles.
  23. I was using a 75 W/Ch Yamaha to power my F3´s. I am now using the Yamaha RX-V1800 at 130W/Ch and the sonic change was night to day. The Synergy line needs more power than the Reference. I can get to ear bleeding level without any distortion now, with the lower wattage amp it would get a little muddy at louder volumes. Ran
  24. I´m only at 2 months but I am also having the problems with sleeping, although it could be that I am just getting old and don´t need as much sleep.[:|] Taste and smell has started to get a little more detailed but not as much as I had expected. At first smoke did not bother me but I must say I am starting to get a little agressive when I smell smoke. It is not helping much at home that the wife did not stop yet. She has reduced dramatically at home though and that makes me happy. She is one of those "don´t push me or I will smoke more just to show you I can" people. She did tell me though that it is not as fun as before when we both smoked and has reduced to about a 1/2 a pack instead of 1 pack a day. She only smokes in our entrance to the apartment and after renovation she has to go outside so thats really motivating me to get the entranceway finished. Then the apartment will be 100% smoke free. A friend told me how he stoped: Smoke a pack, your last pack, and deposit each butt into a glass jar. At the end of the pack put water into the jar and let sit overnight. Each time he wanted to smoke he got the jar, opened it and inhaled. needless to say after that he did not want to smoke and after 2 days did not need the jar anymore. [+o(] It worked for him!!! Ran
  25. Thats funny because in the German version the first and third are Dolby 5.1 and the second is DTS. So that is another variable, which language is bieng used. Ran
