  1. I have seen guys use a LaScala as a Center for the Khorns since they have the same tweeter and midrange horn.
  2. This might just be one of those PM if you are interested type sales and together you can figure out what would be fair for both parties? BTW...sending a PM. LOL
  3. I have no idea about pricing since they are so old and rarely see parts for sale.
  4. Oh my bad, I thought you were saying you were trying to convince your wife you needed to buy a new 60" Plasma TV. I misinterpreted what you wrote. I didn't realize you have a 60" Plasma and you want to upgrade it but your wife thinks it's just fine.
  5. I'm not "up" on TV's but didn't Plasmas die a few years ago? Thought we were on LCD, LED and OLED displays now.
  6. Yes, there are plenty of people on the forum that have scored great deals. For some reason, my name just stuck as people just began using the phrase Youthman Deal as a catchphrase.
  7. Absolutely I'm not one to judge other people. LOL Haha...now that's funny. Interestingly enough, a few years ago, I was second in line for $200 Khorns. I was texting back and forth with the lady about them and when I asked for the address, she said "Oh, a guy is already on his way". You would have thought she would have mentioned that up front. LOL
  8. Oh cmon guys. Give milie a break. LOL. Yes, I believe you did very well my friend. I think you got a great deal on that Marantz amp, especially since it's a current model and pretty much brand new. Whether or not it's a Youthman deal, is not for me to decide. The phrase Youthman Deal was created by guys in this forum due to the many ridiculous deals I've found over the years. (ie. Mint RS-7 for $50, RF-7 II for $363.00 (when they were still current model speakers) and KLF-30 and KLF-C7 (with some cosmetic damage) for $200. It's those types of deals that simply don't make any sense to me or anyone else but are very real and are one of many ridiculous deals I've scored since my first Klipsch purchase in January of 2008 when my addiction was at it's infancy. As far as amps for my theater room, I originally bought a Parasound HCA2205 (220 x 5) in April of 2010 for $750 (which was right at market value at the time) and sold it in Nov of 2013 for $550. But in Jan of 2014, I made up for the loss when I came across a sweet deal on B&K 200.7 (200 x 7) amp for $400 and ended up selling it in Feb of 2014 for a $1000 after being given a Sherbourn 7100A (200 x 7) amp for free. I truly hope stories like these are an encouragement to everyone that deals are out there. I've always said that in order to score ridiculous deals, you have to have 3 things: 1) Continually looking for deals daily, sometimes even hourly (ridiculous deals often last less than a few hours, sometimes way less) 2) Have cash on hand that is pre-approved to spend on audio gear (if there is a significant other). 3) Available to either go get them immediately or send a deposit to hold them until you can pick them up If you don't have all three of these in place, it's really difficult to score what most would consider a Youthman Deal. Timing is everything. I'm not even sure how I do it sometimes.
  9. I need to keep track of who has expressed interest lol
  10. LOL.....it's just the rabbit hole that keeps getting deeper and deeper. Always looking for economical ways to improve my systems. If I can upgrade something with little to no money out of pocket, why not.
  11. Knowing @WakeJunkie he is going to build it like he would build his own and do it as the very best quality he can. If we do eventually go that route, that's likely what he would do. He just has sooo much on his plate right now. He recently finished repairing his foundation of his house (about a 5 month project), now he's starting a business. Not sure he will have any spare time anytime soon but fortunately, I'm in no hurry.
  12. That's what I was wondering. Thus the reason for my inquiry here. LOL Therein lies the problem....if wakejunkie was local, we would have already built it. I'm not a builder by any means. Wakejunkie can build anything. I told him I could sell 3 of my RSW-15's to fund (4) 18" IB subs and give him an RSW-15 for his 2ch LaScala setup in his living room as a thank you for building it.
  13. Have no where to put the 1802. The TH115 would fit between my LaScalas.
  14. I'm currently running (4) Klipsch RSW-15's in my theater behind a 150" AT Screen. A pair of Danley TH115 were just listed locally. I know Danley makes subs with ridiculous output and was really impressed their demo room at InfoComm 2017 where I had the chance to hear the TH118 (see demo video below). The TH115 is rated at 133db Continuous / 139 Peak Output, while the RSW-15 is rated at 121db Output. The TH115 is only rated at 38Hz though vs the 20Hz of the RSW-15. Just looking for some advice on whether this would be an upgrade over my (4) RSW-15's. I'm wondering if I would still need a single sub that would handle the very low frequencies.
  15. Welcome to the forums! Just for clarification...I'm assuming you meant 10' and not 100'?
  16. Didn't realize McIntosh made car amps. Pretty cool.
  17. That's what I was thinking since he is running 7 speakers on the receiver.
  18. Sorry, he has an Onkyo Atmos Receiver (not sure the model)
  19. He has RF-7 II with a custom RF-7 II center he built.
  20. If you aren't interested in it, would you mind PMing me a link? I might consider buying it for wakejunkie to see if it is an improvement for his RF-7 II.
  21. Yeah, it's probably a good thing because if you came over and heard the LaScala Trio, you might be trying to figure out how to squeeze 3 of them in your home theater too. LOL
  22. Bill knows Acurus. He made a believer out of me. I bought my A200 (200 x 2) from him and it's still going strong several years later and provides plenty of clean power to my RF-7 II.
  23. I was thinking West coast of Florida but maybe I’m thinking of someone else.
