  1. That's a pretty tall horn, isn't it? If memory serves correct.
  2. Maybe honorary member. I would think being a true member requires having a visible serial number. haha
  3. I have CF-3 v3's which have had the crossovers altered to me more of the version 1's using Solen caps and Mills resistors. Those alone made a great improvement in sound quality. I also did mild bracing to the cabinets because the back panel on one of mine was loose with almost no glue holding it in two 2-foot areas. Quite noisy. So some basic bracing and added rigidity to the tops and bottoms, increased port length to 5.75" total, wrapped the horns with medical grade Koban (not messy at all), and tilting the fronts up some by adding about 5/8" of lift for aiming the horn at listening level. Other than that, I just listen to them and enjoy them. I agree with the efficiency being overrated on their specs because they do love power (I'm running 460wpc on them) and they aren't that much louder in comparison to my Norman Lab Model 9's which sport three 10" woofers and three 1" Phillips tweeters per cabinet. Hmmm.... Maybe I do prefer the sound of a simple two way design.
  4. I would be interested in the price on the stock Belle's if that happened.
  5. Holy crap. One of the bands I grew up with and learned to play many of their songs, and still do now. R.I.P. Mr Fry....thanks for all the great music.
  6. Are they the black satin finish originally or that industrial finish? If black satin, sand them and use the Lowes Valspar Black Satin paint and a good brush and they will look great. I did that to the KLF-30's I had and was pleased with results. To me, that looks better than bedliner or something of that nature.
  7. Glad it worked out for you. I'm collecting my parts for the Belle build but if something comes up along the way, I'd still ponder some of those.
  8. Not a problem. I'm always hopeful that helping with deals in another area will Karma some of them my way someday!
  9. I just tilted mine up in the front end to where the horns were more aimed at me versus lifting them up. Had good results with that.
  10. Honestly, I don't believe I can make the deal work this far away. If you can get them local, which is the best bet, then do pick them up. One of these days a pair will come up around me that I can actually see up close.
  11. Yeah, he should've put a quantity amount of 4 in his listing. Or listed two separate "pairs". But as mentioned, he's always been a buyer and this is first time selling.
  12. Someone earlier mentioned that they had all already been picked up. Was a great deal for someone.
  13. But, I can get new K-33 woofers so I'm not sure it's beneficial in buying these and would definitely make more sense for others closer.
  14. I just want the drivers out of them. I don't care if they stink or not. I have a friend in Clifton who could pick them up and snag them for me possibly. Maybe he can go see them first. Hmmm...
  15. I was going to say that as well. Just take something small and portable to hook them up with to verify all drivers. It won't take much.
  16. Same here. If only closer. The holes could be filled and then repainted black or even a veneer job done. Or, harvest the drivers and use them in Belle cabinets.
  17. Hmmm.... Someone must've spiked my coffee here at school. Gonna be one of those days. Edited again. I sent an email on shipping. But that would be a nightmare unless put on a pallet and shipped via LTL.
  18. Why did I not remember that. Another sheesh moment... Thanks! Anyone in Maine coming this way? I'd buy all 4!
  19. Once again....speakers far away from me and way too far to drive. Sigh... Starting bid $225 and BIN of $300 each. Helluva deal! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-La-Scala-Speakers-/331753639759?hash=item4d3e0ecf4f:g:LtgAAOSwSHZWg0wb
  20. And there's this pair in NC for $2250 on eBay. Might take less. 744 miles from me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291654133470?_trksid=p2060353.m2763.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  21. True. An hour drive would be nice too. Or across town. Ha
  22. Just try it and see. If it's 2.3ghz, they have good range.
  23. And none of them are ever within 500 mules of me. Sheesh. Except for the overpriced ones that show up in Little Rock.
  24. I may have to make a trip down from Searcy and just make a party of it. haha
