  1. I was going to rag on billiboy, but, I think I'll leave that up to Hillary. Boy don't you know he's been sleeping on the cough! Think I'll go vomit now knowing that he owns Klipsch's. ARRRRRG!
  2. Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear PWK! Happy Birthday to you! Man I sing bad! Of course it would sound a whole lot better coming out of a set of Klipschorns or Jubilies. You know if I suddenly recieve a set in the mail I would be to excited to come and sing to you in person! Many thanks for all you have done for music. You have truly elevated its reproduction to where it needs to be. God bless and look forward to singing again next year! Maybe I'll even get to sing in person!
  3. I don't see a sub listed there, that being the case I would set um to large. DTS will send full range to the back, DD won't matter so much. Experiment with it and let us know what you think. Sounds like a killer set-up!
  4. Congrads on the KLF 30's (drool drool) I hate hiss! Have to agree thats it's the reciever. Would not think the Denon flagship would do this. My Yamaha RXV795a is dead quiet--not near the reciever. I would be UPSET and be proud of it. Salespeople tout Denon to be better with music and I believe it. Ask your dealer what can be done. The very least you could do is go back to the store and listen to another one. Call on Denon also, hear they have good customer support. Last resort may be to return it and get something that makes you HAPPY. After all, we do this for ourselves, right! I bet Klipsch/Mondail (spelling) will have a killer reciever out shortly.
  5. Sorry Boa, Not a slam at all! I was just trying to add a little humor to a serious situation. I'm sure you read all these posts--thought I read someone posting something R/T "oxymoron" a couple of days ago or so. The point being, oxy (sharp) & moron (stupid), being contradictory as related to the situation as a whole. Small dealers & customers are both followed by "feelings" in my post. Small dealers not being concerned with our feelings & Klipsch (we are their customers) not being concerned with our feelings. Truely, we must believe Klipsch cares, they devoted much space on this board to the subject. Have'nt seen a solution yet though I feel one is coming. Guess I'll be a little more careful with my wording--feeble attempt at humor. Maybe the people at Klipsch will realize how sensitive we are about this subject. The only slamming that should be done is when we are guest stars on WWF!
  6. Sounds like it's Miller Time!
  7. the small dealers' feelings. Who was that talking about oxymorons! Lets see, small dealors, feelings, customers, feelings. Wow, this may never go away!
  8. I would recommend the 12. If it's ever a problem just turn it down!
  9. Hey Kirath, I am using Monster Cable SW Cable for about a year. I've had no problem so far and the sound is good. Let us know what you decide on and how it sounds!
  10. I am concerned that the sound of the KSW-10 will not be sufficient in the room I am wiring for surround sound. It is 20'x 30'. RJS, sounds like you have a pretty big room. The KSW 10 should be enough bass for the quintets--If I may...Try to demo the system in the room. You may find you want to upgrade to a Synergy system. The KSW 12 might make more sence then. Shoot, you might want to even check out a reference package! Bottom line is to demo the system before you buy! I bet that room will suck up more sound than you realize. Enjoy!!!
  11. Where is this Sound Advice you speak so highly ofHey lerajie, sorry for the delay. Sounds like the sale is over (2-28). Don't know if this is so, when I was in the store (Tallahassee, FL) the salesman told me they were closing them out untill they were gone. You might give them a call. Let me know if I can do anything to help since someone says they don't sell over the internet. They are right around the corner form me. I find this to be an excellent store with very friendly & knowlegable staff, ask for Evan. He's the manager & will bend over backwards to help you! PS: They told me they were not planning anything with the 20's or 30's #*!%!!!!
  12. Sound Advice has KLF 10's on sale now--buy one ($450 to 550, can't remember) get one FREE! Talk about a match!
  13. Hey Boa I think if I was going with those speakers I would consider a tube preamp and a lesser reciever. I posted a while back on a 7.1 tube preamp put out by sasaudiolabs. Seems like this would be the best of both worlds--feeding HT/music signals through it should rock. No experiance with such a device though, you can check it out on thier web site.

    Subs

Try setting your mains to large, set your LFE to both, set the subs frequency responce to 120. Sit back while someone switches the phase for you & see which sounds better. Also move it around. I like mine in the back corner of the room right reside the cough. Small sub closer to me!
  15. I use Monster MCX1's, noticed they tamed the highs & helped the base. I noticed a difference right out of the box! These cables are well shielded--was using 16 ga Wal-Mart speaker cable at first. I noticed a bigger difference when I upgraded interconnects (Monster fiber optic cable with my DVD, Radio Shack Gold Series A/V with my VCR). Did not spend a lot of money here, but the sound improved over the "out of the box" stuff. I think the main point to remember is that if you like it & can justify the expense, then go for it! This is a great hobby and it's all about enjoyment. Remember the audiocratic dogma: We needs must love the highest when we hear it!
  16. I had the same problem untill I added a sub. Pulling the center infromation away from the mains removes information from that path--I noticed it affected the bass more than anything else. I have everything set to large, LFE set to "both" and BAM! I really love the floorstanding speakers for the rears, for me there's no substitution. Let me know if this helps. Also check your base managment setting--mine goes from -10 to 0 for digital sources & -10 to +10 for DTS signals.
  17. WOW! Is that a "Class G" explanation! I'll have to kick this around with my wife tonight.
  18. Monster has a surge protecter specially designed for subwoofers--the powercenter 200. It's really nice because it plugs directly onto a wall outlet (my subs in the back corner of my living room away form my other componets). You can plug your sub into it & not have to run an extension cord from the main surge protecter--very nice! Don't have one yet but will eventually. If you get one let us know how it works!

    dvd reviews

We have covered many DVD's on this BB. Seems like we love this stuff! Try a search and you should get some great imput--lots of reviews in here somewhere. Enjoy.
  20. Hey guys, posted this a while back and didn't get much feedback sasaudiolabs.com/sur10a.htm . I think I got the hyperlink wrong before (not very computer literate--if it's wrong again the site can be searched by this name). Wondering how the specks compare to other tube amps and monoblocks. This seems like a much easier way to go as far as hooking up. All opinons welcome!
  21. It will rock. The KSW will be a little slow compared to more expensive subs, but, depending on how discerning you are you will probably be very pleased. The 20's will give a good base responce by themselves so you can tune the sub to assist where they roll off. Let us know how you like them!
  22. Happened on my Yamy, I upgraded to cables with banana plugs anyway so it was'nt an issue. May want to consider this.
  23. Just figured out how to creat the hyperlink (I hope it works) so you can jump and read the specks on this preamp. Looking forward to your opinions. Thanks!
  24. I believe your Denon does 5 channel stereo. With that in mind you might want to consider another pair of RF-3's. When your playing music, select them and when your kicking HT use the WDST speaks. I'd be jealous!
  25. Webmaster I'm still trying to figure this out. I read all the posts, yet I'm not seeing any solutions/proposed solutions being made. Two questions: 1. Your statement about the issue of re-sellers vs repair/warrenty issues. It seems to me that when we buy over the internet from an unauthoriqzed dealor we take the chance that they are reputable enough to make the warranty good. If not, then I fully expect to provide transport to Klipsch myself for service. We take this risk--I don't understand why Klipsch as a manufacturer cares who sells their product when it is broken (you made your money). If I use a local dealor I would take it back for them to deal with and wait for them to call saying "it's fixed." So there must be warranty issues we are'nt aware of--what are they? 2. Your comment re: a locol dealor loosing a sale based on price alone is bad for many reasons. The only reason I have gleamed thus far is that local companies can't compete! Can't be true--can it? I mean, I can open a shop, stock a few speaks, and drop ship all over the country if I can make a sale. Key word "if". I have been self employed, competition is what drives America (a little flag waving here--hey, I'm a fan). It's my choice to stay in business--and by no means do I have the right to tell somebody else they are'nt charging enough! So what are the other reasons? We are basicly two kinds or buyers. Those of us who will risk price and deal with problems ourselves, and those who will pay more to have problems fixed for us. I feel Klipsch speakers are good enough take the risk. I can pay shipping several times per the discounts I have been offered--and Klipsch has sold its product. By the same token, 3 friends of mine have bought Klipsch systems in the past year since hearing mine. All 3 bought local, even with me telling them of internet discounts. My point being is that we are mutually exclusive customers. I cannot afford $1800 for KLF 30's. Heck, I can't afford the $1050 that I was quoted on the net (or the $325 for c-7 or the $312 for the KSW-12) , but, I like the way these Klipsch's make music sound enough to pay that. It's probably a good thing that my local dealor does'nt stock the Heritage line (I see bells for $598 NIB on the net now) cause I bet I would want them if I ever heard them. Is ignorance bliss??? MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE CUSTOMERS The only way to make us inclusive is to restore competition. I will pay more for local service--within reason. Thanks for listening, Klipsch rocks!
