Here's the start of the chassis work, its nothing great. I had a old battery charger at work I hacked up with the plasma cutter. I just have the rca jacks in.

I have done one shrimp boil, for the 4th of July and it turned out great. For the Superbowl I will be doing another, I have about 6 lbs of shrimp, and will be adding some smoked sausage. The last one I did had corn, potatoes, onions, garlic, Old Bay, and that last good ingredient beer. I have made a 16 gallon brew pot for making large batches of beer, which I will be using to cook it all in. If anyone has any thing else I should through in let me know.

I never knew what you meant when you talked about sound stage, until I looked it up. I all ways referred to this as how pronounced the music can be or the detail. I don't know if I have experienced enough great sound stage but after listening to fm for a while I thought to my self how better everything sounded. So I was going play some vinyl until I found out my table wires were coming apart at the rcas. So I started that project.. but at least I have a better system to listen to/ Thanks for your help, next we need to tackle some room treatments to deal with these plywood walls and open ceilings. Pictures to come tomorrow I am tired after 4-6 of using every tool in my garage to rebuild these top hats.

Yes that helps a lot, and answers my questions. I have just finished rebuilding the tophat on one to these specifications, I will finish the other and start listening. After that I will take some more pics of the setup to see if there is anything else I can do. Thanks again for you help.

Hopefully Cask sees this as he seems to know quite a bit on time alignment. But while I wait for the rest of the parts to finish the projects I am starting to reconstruct my top hats. The idea came when I read some post on time alignment or physically aligning your drivers. So I thought I would pull the tweeter out, make a stand for it and align the driver with the mid driver. I have three pictures(disregard the tweeter in there as it will now be on top). But if you can see from one the Altec sticks out past the bass bin, in another the front of the Altec is flush with the front of the bass bin, and the last one is the P. Audio PH4525 that is flush with the bass bin. I didn't know if the stock K400 was back a little and if so should I do this with these horns(and how far back was it). I know there probably is some engineering involved on deciding which is best. But any good educated guess it out there. Thanks

Man I just saw, I think on the diyaudio.com were a fellow used those drivers on some really big horns. I would think that with the right horn you should be able to. What ever you choose, I'd also urge you to consider going 2-way. My experience going from 3-way to 2-way is the sound comes together sooner/closer to the speaker with 2-way than the 3-way, ultimatley sounding better. actually I've sold my CW and all I got now it a Bob's XOver and a pair of his woofs. I'm looking for ideas to go for. I want to use Radian 950-PB but I wanted to go for 3-way. do you think 950-PB will work in a 2-way? thanks,

Smoking deal, even if you have to dump a few hundred bucks into it to get her made right. I know how you feel about deals falling through the last minute, this happened to me last summer on a pair of Khorns. Congrats you will have to know your thoughts on the sound, is this a intergrated or a pre amp, if its a preamp what will you be pairing it with.

The 2380 is listed as flat front bi-radial, I don't know how much of a difference it makes if it is one or the other. Just a heads up there is a pair of JBL 2380's on ebay for bin at 200.00. I can't answer your questions as far as all the tech stuff goes but I am using the Selenium d220 di on the hm17-25 I think it sounds pretty good.
