  1. I am sorry about the way the above post reads. It is not how I typed it. Why does this forum not recognize paragraphs? I am using a MAC.
  2. I use a Lascalla turned on it's side. It sounds fine, but I hate the looks. Even after I refinish, it will still have the doghouse cover/bottom showing and will look wrong to my picky eyes. I also really want to use the pair in my bar and hate to tie them up for the HT center. A split Lascalla would work for me and I have considered cutting the top off of mine but it would look out of balance. I am limited to about 24" of center speaker height and there is no way around this for me. I want my screen the size it is, and I want it at the height it is. I would love to try a vertical Cornwall. I would probably buy one new at retail if Klipsch made them. I have some 74 Cornwall cabinets that I plan to have rebuilt with vertical motorboards one of these days. I would really like to fit a trachorn in there but I doubt it would fit in the vertical configuration. I have been eying this http://www.klipsch.com/product/75768.25724.84524.0.0/1012642/_/KPT-4350-MS It seems like it may be just what I have been looking for I just wish I could hear it in my room before writing the check. Anyway, put me down as one who would like to see klipsch sell a large heritage center.
  3. The PA systems I have heard at national events have been very poor. Even if you did not need to be wearing ear plugs they would be lacking. That said I am pretty sure no PA on the planet could be heard over the sound of Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, or even the pro stock cars and if you could hear it it would destroy your ears in short order. Try to imagine speakers that could cut through a 150db.
  4. I think this might be the perfect center channel for my room (see here http://www.avsforum.com/t/1300605/bobs-media-room ). Klipsch says it is for surround but it looks like a KPT 435-N in a box that would fit below my screen. Since it is not designed to be behind a screen I also assume it does not have boosted high end. Am I missing something?
  5. The ones with the autoformers are the ones you do want. Personally I would not look at the ones without them.
  6. The citation 21 sounds great. By far the best of the ones you list. All of what you list is getting pretty old and may have issues.
  7. Thanks I did leave them out. I am impressed with the results of the modifications to say the least.
  8. When I was shopping for my latest home, I put Khorn corners in a room that could be used as a media room on my must have list. Looked at probably 30 homes and never found one with a good Khorn room. I ended up buying a place with a good sized room but had to gut it, fill in three windows with concrete, and rebuild. It was worth it but it was a lot of work. If I was building from scratch and had any interest in Klipsch Heritage I would have my room built with very square rigid corners. I used 3/4"plywood under 5/8" drywall with greenglue between. Studs spaced on 8" centers with extra bracing. The walls are solid and it makes a difference. Pull more wires than you think you need. 7channels plus multiple subs. I ran enough wire to run all three front speakers active three way even though I have no plans at this time. As has already been said the higher the ceiling the better. I wish mine was taller but there is nothing I could have done.
  9. I have completed the conversion on one. So far I think I will like it. I have a question about the midhorn driver adapter. The K400 uses a rubber seal. The Trachorn adapter has a larger port which seems to match the port on the K55M better than the smaller K400 port. If I use the rubber gasket/seal with the new Trachorn it will pinch down the passageway and seems like it will not mate with the Trachorn adapter very well. Do I need to run a seal or am I good to go without it?
  10. I have a pair of ALK Trachorns I am going to install in my Khorns. I have two pairs of 2404Hs laying around and am going to use them. I have a pair of ALK universals I want to use if I can. Will this setup work as is, or are changes needed? If not, what do I need to do to the crossovers. Finally what would be the best way to cross these drivers over passively (I do not want to go active at this time). Finally I know to mirror image the top hats, but should the tweeters be on the inside or the outside. Thanks, Bob
  11. Moved this to Updates and Modifications. I thought it fit better there. If a Mod could remove this that would be great.
  12. Surrounds match very well. The color does not photograph well it is much darker than shown in the pics. My photos turn out either looking much pinker or more bright red.
  13. Screen is 136" diagonal. Equipment List is above. The rack is accessed from a bedroom closet. I will post a pic after I clean up the wires a little bit.
