  1. Got a link for this list? I can't find it on their website. I own all the to 20. Not being a geezer, I do find it funny that all the greatest albums came from a span of about 10 years. Except Nirvana's Nevermind, of course. Because everyone knows how absolutely perfect that album is [8-)]. I wouldn't expect Eminem, Beyonce or Snoop to be on the Top 50 Rock albums, though. I own all of the top 20 anyway, I'd like to see the rest.
  2. You have to convert your videos to a format that the iPod can play, otherwise you can't import.
  3. Actually Lars says hes OK with people sharing via P2P, although I kinda doubt he's really OK with it. If you like the CD, go out and buy it.
  4. Yuck. Family or not, I don't share earbuds with anyone. [+o(]
  5. I noticed that Phelps uses the standard iPod headphones, too. It probably is a sponsorship issue.
  6. Interesting. I didn't realize you had to be a certain age. They look so young, a lot of them look 12, I just assumed you could be any age. In men's gymnastics, they are definitely older.
  7. Why would you think it's the first of "several"? I wouldn't have expected any such attacks in the entire olympic games.
  8. In which Olympic sport is there an age limit? Why would they need to fake birthdates? And which "competitors" got their visas revoked. I heard of one American former competitor getting his visa revoked. And yes it sucks, but obviously they felt he was going to stir up trouble. Anyone who wants to try and ruin the Olympics with political crap deserves to be banned (not saying that was this particular athlete's plan, but the Chinese government thought so).
  9. A Spicy Italian sandwich from Subway doesn't come with sauce. If the officers had just explained that, they could have avoided this whole thing.
  10. What a piece of crap. If you've seen the previews, you've seen everything the movie has to offer. It's hard not to compare this to his other movies. But even if I didn't know who made it, it's still garbage. I haven't seen lady in the water, but the other four had "twist" endings, so yes, I did expect some kind of surprise at the end. Even just a simple explanation would have been good. And I like Roger Ebert, but I think anyone who says they like this movie are just trying to show how "enlightened" and "cultured" they are. They didn't really like it. Look at these reviews. Even the people who said they liked it said so in a passive/agressive way.
  11. Your Pioneer will be fine to power them. The RS-52's will be fine for surrounds. I still have RS-3's (series 1) for surrounds, and I'm happy.
  12. The ending sucked because it was based on a true story.
  13. Apple lossless is not the same as .aiff. And it is compressed, just like any other Lossless format.
  14. That That's what I was getting at when you first mentioned you were ripping your files to WAV format. All is not lost, though. You can still find software that will convert from wav to another format.
  15. Seems if I pay them the 10% restocking fee they will take the unit back even though I've opened it & used it. So for about $25 plus the difference of the 160 gig unit (about $100), I can get the larger unit. Or if you rip the music to Apple Lossless, you won't need the extra storage.
  16. Actually the new iPods have Cover Flow built into them. And sorry to nitpick, but I have to point out, it's Roger not Rodger.
  17. The seller owes you $4.46. If he reports the item not sold, ebay refunds ALL of his fees.
  18. You only need a Converter box if you are relying on "Over the Air" antenna. If you have cable or satellite, you don't need one.
  19. That's kinda what I was getting at, in a roundabout way. Wav is more universal, but apple lossless will save space and allow for tagging. I like to use good old fashioned MP3, because I have such a huge collection, and want to be able to fit my entire collection on the iPod. I've done some of my favorites in Apple Lossless, though.
  20. I don't know about accessing through a browser, you are much better off doing it through iTunes. There are two easy ways to do it. 1. From the main iPod screen in iTunes, find the button that says Sync only checked songs and videos. Go into the Music Library, uncheck the ones you want to remove, and then re-sync. 2. If you prefer the direct approach (you will lose some functionality like rating songs, seeing your play count, etc.), click on the box that says Manually Manage music and videos. Your songs will no longer be greyed-out in the iPod and you can delete manually.
  21. Do you get things like cover art, Genre, etc. when you use .wav?
  22. I thought it had already been changed. I think it's stupid.
  23. What audio format are you using to get 1141kbps?
  24. I was running Home Premium, which is a step below Ultimate. As I said, I liked it, but my files are mostly kept on a seperate computer, so for instance I have a folder on my main computer \\Main\Movies. Sometimes Vista finds it, sometimes not. Putting videos into the my videos was even worse. I would choose the option for add a folder from a shared folder (or whatever the wording was) and it would not even give me the option to add the \\Main\TvShows folder. I ended up having connect to the folder on the remote computer and add them to the shared folders file. No big deal, but a hassle when I want to quickly add another folder. For me, using Media Center, I don't want to have to look at the back end, I just want to do everything either from my main computer, or via the GUI on the Media Center computer. The computer that I couldn't connect to the Printer was an inexpensive laptop that came with Vista Home Basic, but still there is no reason that something as basic as connecting to a shared printer would be so difficult. Funny thing was, it would "see" the printer, let me select it, but then it would fail. In hindsight, I probably didn't have the share permissions set up right (another huge complication with Vista), but still... I really wanted it to work, and I was able to find a workaround for every problem I encountered, but I eventually decided, why waste time with work arounds when it worked perfectly with XP? And believe me it was a painstaking process to go back to XP. I have a couple extra hard drives laying around, but I have a lot of files stored on huge Hard Drives (2 x 750 and 2 x 250) and had to do some creative juggling to get everything back how I wanted it. And the external HD, I don't see that being a problem with having to re-register, I actually replaced my C-Drive with a new larger C-Drive, so that was why I had to re-register. Still, I have never had to do that with XP.
