  1. Hey Mark, Welcome to the Klipsch Forums. We're glad you're here. I am not familiar with the M-508, but it appears to be an amp. What are you using as a Pre amp? I guess it does not have a "Sub Out" jack? If the sub has speaker wire terminals, you can run your speaker wires to the sub and then out to the La Scala's. The sub will take the low freqs. out of the signal, then pass the the rest to the speakers. Let us know what you're using as a pre amp and maybe we can give you more info. Dennie
  2. I need to give you my shipping address.......[] Dennie
  3. Thanks Michael! Although a little out of my way, I do appreciate the post. Dennie
  4. Here's the Link to Bob's website--------------> LINKY Opens in new tab! I bought his Type A/AA Convertible Crossovers to replace the original Type AA's in my 1979 La Scala's and the difference was like taking a blanket off the speakers. It was night and day. I highly recommend their work. I talked to Bob at about 8:30pm (California time) on a Saturday and placed the order. I had the new crossovers by noon on the following Thursday. Fantastic Service and products! [Y] Congratulations on the La Scala's, you have an amazing pair of speakers! Dennie Edit: I was over digging in my photobucket.com and saw this and thought I might as well post it........
  5. BTW, this thread sure has taken a turn..........[*-)] Dennie
  6. Your right that was a low blow to everyone on this forum, even to Barry. I should have never done that, I did feel a little sick when I posted that pic, now Barry is even starting to look a little better ! dtel, I don't know about that, I think oldtimer is a little oversensitive... After all, with Halloween right arround the corner, it is customary to post scarry images!! Roger But dtel, If you say you would do "it" aka Rosie, I'll be over with a shotgun to take care of it for you. Roger If things ever get that bad please do, get the directions from Marshal, ask no questions just walk in and do it. I think there are quite a few of us that would "Help you out" if that situation ever arose! Dennie
  7. Or Barry! (Just in case there are people from "the other" team!) [] (not that there is anything wrong with that)[^o)] Dennie
  8. More like this one.......... I think I like the Champagne one better, but this one looks good too! As I said before, the price seems right, if it works fine. At 150wpc it should do what you need it to do. Dennie
  9. I don't have any experience with that amp, but it sure is purty! The Price seems right. Have you listened to it? Dennie
  10. I like your style too, gp_phan! I think you are going to fit in just fine around here. So, what have you been listening too? As I said before, I am so glad you have a set-up you are passionate about. Most of us are passonate about our set-ups also, as you can see. Stick around and enjoy the fun, some of the worlds best people are here! [Y] Dennie
  11. I recently picked this one up and was glad I did......... Now, what were we talkin' about? [] Dennie
  12. Oh, Pardon Me Please - I'm so so Sorry for "Touting" Such Nonsense, Obviously your components are in a different "Class" than mine, but as you said, IT IS easy for you to say I haven't stumbled onto something "uniquely magical" - Seeing how you've NEVER heard what I'm hearing. (Brilliant) Golly Gee Wizz, I'm sorry if I got excited about the most incredible sounding system I've ever heard!!! Oh, and Jeepers Creepers -YES, I've heard khorns with several different "Hi End" amps, tube and solid state and other combo's, but I still have the most incredible sounding system I've ever heard. (My Bad) I did list what I've owned - didn't list what I've been exposed to though - sorry my post was already getting large. Large because I couldn't find enough good things to say about this current system and thought maybe other people may benefit. Just my 2 cents, and enjoying the music and sound quality is what matters. Best Regards Hey gp_phan, did you not write this: RF'5s a Marriage Made in Heaven!!!, What do you think?? If you don't want to know what people think, then don't ask! Right? Now, we are always glad to have new people here, sharing about their experiences, but don't get bent out of shape when someone answers your question and it is not the answer YOU want to hear. Now, we're still glad you're here. At least I am, but I can see why some might now be hesitant to answer your question. Think about it. Dennie
  13. So gp_Phan, what I am trying to figure out is..........are you happy with your set up? [*-)] Congratulations on putting together a system that you are passionate about! That is what we are all striving for. Dennie
  14. I pre-ordered the Stereo set for a friend a while back. It now seems to be back ordered everywhere, stereo and mono. Amazon had it for $179.99, but now they list no price and will not take any more orders for it. Music Direct is taking orders, but they are backordered and the price without shipping is $207.99. Dennie
  15. Hey Seth, Good to hear you are getting it where you want it. I like your thinking.....no balance knob? Adjust the speakers! A perfect example of why we call this a hobby. I did mean a hand held SPL meter. They can remain accurate when our ears are telling us something's off. I pull my Radio Shack SPL Meter out every now and then, just to see if my ears are telling me the truth. (also to calibrate the HT) Good thinking about checking the tubes. I don't have any tube gear, so I have no knowledge about such things. But it sounds logical. My La Scala's are toed in also and the left one, slightly more than the right. I also have the left speaker gain 7db's higher than the right, as I sit on the right side of the room. It gives me great stereo imaging/separation and a large sound-stage. Be careful moving those beasts around, the older I get the heavier they get!!! [:^)] Dennie
  16. Hey BC, Welcome to the forum and the world of Klipsch. Are you still not sure of the difference? An amplifier amplifies a signal. That signal has to come from somewhere, so the pre/pro (pre amp/processor) is what is used to process the signal, either from a DVD player, a CD player, a turntable, a FM Tuner and so on. This is a low power signal and it needs to be amplified. So it is sent to an amplifier and amplified, then it is sent to the speakers. A receiver has the processor and the amplifier in the same case. So when you have a separate processor and then a separate amplifier, this is referred to as "separates" since they housed in there own cases and linked together with cables/wires. I hope this helps (and makes sense), Dennie
  17. I agree with Budman! (what do WE win?) Dennie
  18. Yeah Seth, I think it would be worth a try, just to nail down where the problem actually is. Keep us posted. Do you have a SPL meter? May be helpful. Dennie
  19. I didn't expect that! That is funny! Michael, you are a Hoot! Dennie
  20. Hey Seth, Have you reversed the wires coming from the TT? Just to eliminate the chance of it being TT related. Also, have you swapped the speaker wires at the back of the amp? By eliminating everything else in the chain, it may come down to being a driver problem. Dennie
  21. Hey Gp_Phan, Welcome to the forum! We are glad you are here. As I get older, I find solid paragraphs harder and harder to read, so if you can, hit that return button every now and then. It sure makes it easier to read for us old guys. Congratulations on the new-to-you gear! Isn't this a fantastic hobby?! I am glad you are hearing improvements with each step you take. [Y] Are you running the two subs Stereo or mono? Remember, two subs are not always better than one, as one can cancel out the other. Stick around and share your experiences with us, we love to hear about new gear and beautiful sound, after all, that is what we are all striving for! Dennie
  22. That's a Beautiful Thing! [Y] Thanks for sharing it PM! Dennie
  23. Just purchased some decorator cornwalls. That's all I've added to my home stereo system in the past 3 or 4 years. Wow, Very nice Gilbert! Those are beautiful, thanks for sharing![Y] Dennie
  24. Hey Matthew, welcome to the forum and the world of Klipsch! I have never heard the KG4's but I bet they sound great! [Y] I just wanted to say Welcome and we hope you stick around and share your experiences with us. Dennie
