  1. Thanks Mechman, but I need you to clarify what you said. The LONG dividers are the vertical uprights, RIGHT? The Small shelves are well, the horizontal shelves! I really hope this is correct, as I used the long ones as uprights! It really would not make sence to use the short ones as uprights, would it? [:|] Dennie
  2. Thanks everyone! I am getting ideas I never even thought about! I am a little overwhelmed right now, but I will slowly get all the genre's separated. Then figure out where to go from there. Keep the ideas coming, they are very helpful, especially while I am in this overwhelmed state![:S] The thought of getting them cataloged on my PC is nice, but when I look at shelf after shelf after shelf of albums, it really seems like an impossible task! It would be nice if they all had bar codes, as with my 2000+ DVD collection, I use a bar code scanner and wa-la, it is cataloged very easily! I do agree that a smaller collection would be more manageable, but again, I have to go through them all and see what is playable and what is not. The few I have been playing are all in very good condition. I was able to give a couple handfuls of Disney albums away. None were playable (as expected) and I have a good friend who collects everything Disney. She was thrilled to get them. Thanks for all the great ideas! Dennie
  3. Wow! Thanks everyone. I got the shelving put together. I instructions say "Takes two people to put together", but it was only me and my dog and she didn't help much. With some masking tape and logical thinking, they are finally together. All of my albums are on the floor and I am just going to start shelving them for now until I can sit down and review all of the choices I have. Thanks for the great information! Jim, since a lot of these collections were acquired over the last two years, I don't think your way of doing it is going to work for me. Especially since the last collection I got was over 1000 albums. My memory just isn't that good! [:S] Keep the ideas coming and I am going to cancel my gym membership and just move albums for a work out! [] Dennie
  4. I now have well over 2000 albums and am trying to get some kind of organization to the madness. Do you organize by genre? Jazz, Rock, Blues, Classical, Show Tunes, Country, World etc.? Or by alphabetical and not genre? I now have two of these....... and I am hoping I can get most of them onto the shelves. But I may have to get a thrid one. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Dennie
  5. Sorry to hear about the damage. I was not crazy about how mine was packaged! It was in a box that could hold 10 or so albums and they didn't put any packing material to keep it from flopping around. Mine was not damaged, but it could have been. One of those air filled "pillows" would have stopped it from moving around. I guess my $1.56 in shipping costs didn't allow for Packaging material! [^o)] I would have gladly paid $1.60 in shipping cost, just to avoid any possible damage! [:^)] Dennie
  6. I am in Love! Does she have a Sister????? Dennie []
  7. Hey Win, Sorry to hear about the flame out! That sucks! I guess we have to stay positive and look at it as a time to......... UPGRADE!!!! [] Like you say though, it could have been worse, but it was bad enough! Where's my Vodka........ Dennie
  8. Idaknow, but the thread has taken a definite turn for the better in his absence (buuurrrrp). Dave You are right about that........are you drinking my beer? It looks like mine! Dennie []
  9. I'm not going to post in this thread! Darn it! I just did! Since I did, I have to wonder what happened to the person who started this thread? Dennie
  10. I think this was my first comedy album and my brother and I got to go see it live when Steve came to town in 1977 or 78. I also have some Smother Brothers albums, a few Richard Pryor albums and of coarse, some George Carlin, who was one of the funniest people alive. Dennie
  11. Well, today I received my 200gram Limited Edition First Pressing 2 record set of the Freedom of Speech Tour, by CSNY! [] Thanks again Fini, you are the Man! [Y] Now, I wonder when my Backordered second one is going to get here? Ah, who cares! I am going to open this one and give it a spin tonight. I will leave the second one sealed! Dennie
  12. I'm starting to think it may be Caffeine! [:^)] Dennie
  13. Great News Fini!!! I am glad to hear (again) that it is what it is supposed to be and that you got your copy! I guess I will order another copy too. At this price, it is worth keeping one sealed! Dennie
  14. Welcome Stockholm650, good to have you back as part of the Klipsch family. It sounds like your wife enjoys the cornwalls too, that is a good thing! Do you think she would like a pair of tube amps also? [^o)] LOL Stick around for a while and you'll be asking her the same question! [] Dennie
  15. I think most of us have gone through this situation. Use your individual level controls just like a balance control. Set both front left and right speakers to "0", then raise the level of the right speaker by a couple db's, until it sounds equal to the left speakers volume. You can lower the left speakers level a couple of db's also. Either way, keep making adjustments until you get it dialed in. Try a couple different "toe'd in" angles also, my KEF Q-7's liked to be aimed right at the center position of the couch, but my La Scala's don't need to be toe'd in as much to sound "right". Keep us posted, Dennie
  16. Sweet Score! It is getting harder and harder to find "pristine" records, but they are still out there! I can see it now Evan, you asking your son to "borrow" some records!!! LOL Nice! Dennie
  17. I picked up my LaScalas during a trip to visit my mom in Wisconsin. Got back home and was by myself, so I backed the Blazer up to the front door as close as I could get. put a piece of particle board from the Blazer to the front dor and put a blanket down. I slid the LS into my living room and moved them end over end until I could wiggle them in place.Got them hooked up and ... THIS IS IT! The sound! I've rearranged a couple of times, but am happy with the purchase. Built new corssovers, put in some of Bob's tweeters, switched to some outboard tweeters, but these things are GREAT! They image very well and sound sooooo good. Even though I won't get rid of them, I am planning on some MWM bass cabs and components to go on top. It is a slow process, since my funds are extremely limited. Bruce That's funny Bruce! It is amazing what we will do to get our speakers hooked up. LOL As mine were sitting in the back of my truck, I actually started looking for my spool of speaker wire. I figured if I can't get them into the house by myself, I can at least run speaker wire out the front door, to my truck and listen to them. That is when my next door neighbor walked outside! Ha Ha! I am looking at getting new crossovers, even though mine seem to sound fine, but they are 1979 originals. The curiosity is getting to me. If they can sound better, I am willing to spend the $300 or so to find out. [] I understand the "extremely limited funds". Sometimes I think it is a good thing(for me), as I could be "one of those guys" with a house full of Klipsch speakers. Not that that would be a bad thing, but c'mon, these are not little speakers! Thanks for sharing your La Scala moving story. I bet there are thousands of "stories" with these Heritage speakers. Dennie
  18. Hi Niklos0, It sounds like your finding gear you like. I am not familiar with those, but if it helps, I have never heard anyone say...."I wish I had purchased a smaller amp". So, if you like the brand and the sound, I say get the biggest one you can afford. [] Dennie
  19. I was thinking the same thing, it is either going to come as a CD or one very thin, very compressed single record. I did not see on the website that it was an actual 200g, 2 record set. So I am really glad to hear that it IS what we thought/hoped it was. Thanks JBryan! Thanks again Fini, you're the Man! I can't wait for mine to get here. Dennie
  20. Great story Tyler8, I laughed I cried! LOL People usually underestimate the actual size and weight of Klipsch Speakers. They are big and heavy and that is a very good thing! No, I am afraid that it does not stop there. Let's see... what could be next??? I had to ask an unwilling friend/neighbor to help me off load these one Saturday morning. He used words like ballbustering big A$$ speakers, they had better be worth it....grumble grumble. Well, there are now times I tell him that he has to leave, it is midnight and I have to go to bed. He often says.....just one more song....Please! LOL Congratulations on the new speakers and welcome! I guess we will be seeing you around more! [] Dennie
  21. I see one of these in my future..... I just received this: 1 CSNY/Deja Vu Live [LP]-VINYL-Live-Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Dennie Status: Shipped on 04/24/2009 via UPSM Tracking info: 42095820910295933453361684114
  22. Well, my shipping charges were $1.59, so I don't expect UPS to show up tomorrow! LOL The estimated arrival date is 4/28-5/5, I bet it comes closer to 5/5! Oh Wait.......someone's at the door......... Not!!!!! [*-)] Dennie
  23. Thank You Fini!!!! I ordered mine. I don't think you can beat this price. My total was $23.33 shipped. I will report back when mine arrives! Again, thanks for the heads up. Dennie
  24. You're right about 3 albums with Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra. Sweet find indeed! [Y] How are the covers? Lush Life is a great "hat box" cover that lifts off. Mine is in near mint condition. I did have to glue one of the flaps on the hat box part, but don't tell anyone! I like that collection so much, I bought a used CD set of it called " 'round Midnight" for $20, which is a decent price, so I could have it on my Ipod and when I am to tired to get up and flip the albums! [:S] Dennie
  25. Hey Dave, it sounds like you are in for a great time. (pun intended) I would shoot an email to or call one of the fine fella's over at SVS. Tell them the situation and have them recommend one of there subs. I have had a few dealings with them and they are stand up people. Here's the link to their site------------> SVSound Dennie
