  1. I'm looking for some outdoor speakers to put on my back patio, and I'm torn between these two: AW525 or KHO-7 Any suggestions? Also I'm not for sure if a single pair is going to be loud enough, does anyone have any personal experience with these?
  2. This thread might help you out a bit: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/111696.aspx I'm happy with the OmniMount 20 speaker mounts I bought for my RS-52's.
  3. It's a nice receiver, my dad just bought one. I have the RX-V3900, but that's out of your price range. http://www.6ave.com/shop/Product.aspx?sku=YAMRXV663BL Use aflaud25 coupon code and get it for $375 shipped.
  4. I have the RW12D, which is a ported subwoofer, and I'm almost tempted to buy an Icon XW-500d sealed subwoofer to put in the back of my room as well. I think sealed subwoofers sound better, but it all depends on what you're listening to. I wonder if there's any problem mixing a ported/sealed sub.
  5. My Y cable came with my subwoofer cable.
  6. Well I was playing with it a little bit this morning, and the port seems to be rattling. If I put a little pressure on the port it stops. Does this sound like a defect or what?
  7. So how do you like having 2 subwoofers? I'm tempted to change out RW-12d for something different, but I don't know. Having some port noise or some other problem as posted here: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/87323/1153446.aspx#1153446 I don't know whether to add a subwoofer, or replace it with a different one.
  8. So you going to clean up that wire mess now?
  9. The service plans are honored by a 3rd party, see here: http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/CC/524619333x0x264593/65777E4E-3103-4D1A-B2FB-17D3D2702714/Media_and_Customer_FAQ_1.16.09_for_posting.pdf Your friend is fine....
  10. I'm pretty sure, but I need to loop a movie scene over and over to verify this, because it only does it during certain parts.
  11. Sorry to bump an old thread, but I figured this thread has the most information so far, so no point in starting a new one. I'm not too happy with my bass during movies. It sounds great with music, but it seems it doesn't rumble like I would think it should. I've also heard this port noise, I can't seem to pin it down though, at first I thought it was something vibrating on my wall, then I thought it was the grill of the subwoofer, but now after reading this I'm almost sure that it is port noise. What can I do about it?? My crossover on my subwoofer is at 120hz, and I'm not for sure what it is on my receiver, but I will check to see it's set at 80hz. It's set on Flat, but I seem to like Punch and Depth settings as well. The gain is set to 0 on the subwoofer, and 0 on my receiver. When I optimized my receiver it turned it down to -6, but I enjoy bass so I turned it back up to 0. I guess it's all a matter of playing with it and getting it to sound the way I want it to, but that port noise is really annoying at times, and it doesn't seem like I'm over-driving it at the time since there's not much bass coming out whenever I hear it. Let me know, this is driving me crazy!!
  12. I have the Harmony 890RF, and I love it. Works great through walls, and no problems here. Can easily change the order of where the buttons are, and reprogram them. I even taught my girlfriend how to use it.
  13. Yup, I built this one, pretty easy
  14. You position the speaker where you want it, then hold it there. With the help of a friend have them tighten that allen head down with a pair of vise grips, and then the speaker isn't going anywhere. If you need to change it, you must loosen the allen head and re-adjust. You could break the mount if you try to move it while tightened down. If I were to do it again, I'd buy these same mounts, so yes I think the 20 is fine. Yes, see here: http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rs-52.aspx Mounting Keyhole bracket and Dual 1/4"-20 threaded inserts
  15. Yeah I mounted them on studs. They feel pretty sturdy, but I wouldn't want to put much more weight on them. I believe the mounts are rated at 20lbs and the speakers are 15lbs. It's a 2 man job.
  16. im actually looking at a similar setup. how do you like the RB-61's? how are they for music, nice and strong? what sub are you uysing? I have no complaints with any of it, but I was wanting floorstanding speakers, just didn't have the room for them. I have the RW-12d subwoofer, see my sig for my info, and I just posted some pics here: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/42024.aspx?PageIndex=109
  17. I have the RC-62 with the RB-61's.
  18. Well here it is! I finally got it all finished up, and I must say I am very very happy with this setup, and I can't seem to get away from cranking the volume. Let me know what you think! Omnimount 20 rear speaker mounts: Without grills: Components hidden in the closet:
  19. I have the RX-V3900, and it's a very powerful receiver, no complaints yet, but I haven't used it much yet. Here's a thread full of information about it: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1058341 Pros: 4 HDMI Inputs / 2 Outputs XM/Sirius Compatible Networkable GUI Interface / Volume over HDMI 2 Remotes (Large and small one) Cons: Seems to have problem with some Motorola digital tv boxes, the resolution resets itself everytime you power off the reciever. That's about the only bad thing I seem to be reading about it.
  20. I have the Monster MP HDP 2500. It has a very high joule rating of 6066, plus if it detects voltage sag it will power off the devices and will keep them powered off if the sag lasts longer than 10 seconds. I'm happy with it, but I also don't pay retail prices.
  21. I just bought a Yamaha RX-V3900 and it has some great power, plus lots of HDMI options and ethernet.
  22. Are your front speakers set to large or small?
  23. Yup, 1 cable is it. Then plug it into power and you're all set.
