  1. I tried carpet cleaner and got most of the smeg off them. There is one spot that looks like chewing gum was once there.[:@] I think new caps are in order. Im not sure what year they are from...the i.d. tags were not there and I can't find any numbers stamped into the cabs. Thanks Dennie...I will see you on the "Right This Minute" thread.
  2. Bruce....Im sure she's beautiful. I love the jumbo style. Sterling
  3. Good eye Marvel...she sounds and plays great.
  4. Thanks for the praise and tips. I may have to refabric the grills if I can't get more of the ish off them...I also need to find emblems..maybe ebay? They still smell of smoke....maybe they need a few days to air out.
  5. I need to learn how to post multiple shots on one post.[:@]
  6. This morning I saw a guy selling a pair of dirty old Fortes for $150 I blasted right over and played dumb like I have never really heard of Klipsch. He said it was pretty good stuff....I just kept playing dumb. These things were very dirty and coated with years of smoke, dirt, and whatnot. I tried to offer $125 but he would not do it. I brought them home and rubbed them down with furniture restore and 0000 steel wool, blew out all the dust, wiped off all the smeg, and put the grills in the bath tubb with a little bit of detergent(the water was nasty brown afterwards) then hit them with some Old English wood protectant and played some music. I am really really impressed with these baby's. I have heard so many good things about the Forte II, but not a whole lot about the O.G. Forte. These can play those low tones real well. Have any of you messed with Murphys wood soap and had good results? Also, There are some stains on the grills that Im having a hard time removing...any suggestions? One more Question...there are also some stains on the passive...how to you recommed I clean them?
  7. Welcome! dtel, how do you like those headphones you won?
  8. The first Klipsch speaker I ever heard was a La Scala. I was working at a Volkswagen dealership and this crazy guy had just one La Scala and after he had a sip of the ol' bottle come end of the day he would turn it up and the La scala would fill the whole service shop.....therefor I had to get a pair. 1 La Scala will fill your polebarn no problem. .....but 2 will do even better!!!
  9. I would just read through this site as much as you can....Im sure someone will be able to help you more.
  10. There are a few guys around here who run Fisher...Im sure they will chime in soon.
  11. Im sure they sound amazing!!! Post what you're listening to in the "Right this minute" thread.
  12. try the H.T. threads....and good luck!
  13. When I bought my La Scalas the guy who sold them to me was using a T amp and I was pretty impressed. I would like to have 1 or 2 around to sample and also travel with. Often we go places and I lug the Heresys and big Carver around and it would be great to shed some of the weight and space and just bring along a T-amp.
  14. Great looking speakers and a great price. I think RF-7s will be my next speaker purchase (unless Forte II's come up)
  15. I felt like after a few days of my Heresys being in my home and they had a chance to get acclimated they warmed up nicely. I think a sub might be needed in a bigger room but, in a smaller room the Heresys are perfect w/o a sub. (just my 2 cents)
  16. Hey, I just picked up a Jay Farrar CD because of YOU!!! So, Mr. Pot calling the kettle black, what comes around.....goes around!!! Dennie, who thinks you should get the RF-7's! (Dennie ducks as Runnin' throws something at him) Ok, maybe we are all a little antagonistic. Dennie, I hope you picked up something good. IMHO all Jay Farrar/Son Volt/Uncle Tupelo/Gob Iron/ is very good. Matt1970, I think I might have to do some serious thinking about trying to get some RF-7s....and right now the $$$ flow is not flowing so great. Sterling Hey Sterling, I picked up Jay's "Sebastopol" and Uncle Tupelo's "March 16-20, 1992", I have yet to give them a spin, but I will get to them soon. Thanks for the recommendations. End of thread Hijack, back to our regularly scheduled program. HEAT IS BAD! Dennie Dennie, I hope you like U.T. "March" Its fantastic!! On Sebastopol give a listen to "Barstow" and "Make It Alright" Heat is bad (but, bring on the summer time)

  18. Matt1970 with all of this talk about how much you like you RF-7s I can't stop thinking about getting a pair. Although I would have to get rid of either the Cornwalls or Chorus's and Im also worried about getting the bass that the 15" woofers provide. (Im not too stoked about using a sub on 2 channel set ups). Either way thanks for making me think about those beautiful speakers 24/7[*-)] You guys are kind of a bad influence on me.
