I hate to say it but IMO that's a really dumb statement. I think it's actually the opposite of what he's stating. Think about it this way. Which shows what the "amp can really do" .... A pair of LaScalas has a sensitivity of 105db. Connect them to a 200 watts x 2 amp would yield 129db at 200 wpc. A pair of B&W 802 D3 have a sensitivity of 90db. Connect them to a 200 watt x 2 amp would yield only 114db at 200 wpc. So how is it that the amp is performing better with a lower efficient speaker? In reality, the amp is having to work harder, generating more heat and actually doing less in max output. Agreed!!! I told him that I'm not planning to "upgrade" from my Klipsch. The Cornwalls are now the speakers that I have owned for the longest period of time. I used to change speakers like clothes when I had funds. At that time I always had to have the flavor of the day. The funny thing is that I always found myself back at horn speakers (namely Klipsch). I believe the Corns are a perfect fit for me and this B&K.

Maybe a decision by the shift in ownership? I used the Aussie site not to long ago to help a person out on another forum. It's sad that the info is no longer being supplied.

That sounds like a 2 sided comment. You are not going to get too much more revealing than Klipsch so he can't be talking about that. He must mean that Klipsch efficiency prevents the B&K from really stretching it's legs. Bill I agree with you. One of the main reasons...they say the B&K runs hot to the touch, I can't get it to run hot!!! Warm...yes - but not warm enough to heat a room! I'll never run this amp to max with the Cornwalls - but the sound I'm getting, nice.........real nice!!!!

Hey Klipsch fam, on one of the other forums - an audiophile magazine writer congratulated me on getting the B&K - he says if I upgrade my speakers from Klipsch, I could find out what the amp can really do........

I think the OP is using his PC as a preamp. Depending on his sound card - that will determine which adapters he will need. If hes coming out of 3.5 jacks on his onboard sound he will need 3.5 to rca adapters, or 3.5 to rca stereo cables .....which I also have in abundance.

Well I got the steal of a life time, I bought a B&K 200.7 for $275!!! You wont come across that - it's not only a rarity - it's almost an impossibility at that price! However - depending on where you are located - someone has the 200.7 for sale for about $900 which is still a great value!!!! I think it's over in the Garage sale unless he's decided not to sell it.

hey could you send me a message with some info about your subs? the diy AE ones? Yep, they're the diy AE subs with the P1512 cabinets, 15 inch AE-AV15-H subwoofer and 18 inch PR's (x2). I believe that enclosure plus the PR's give it a tuning to 14hz +/- 3db if I'm not mistaken.

I got an opportunity to get everything installed and yes, all channels on the amp are functioning properly!!! The B&K has a very smooth sound to it! It's a monster of an amp and will be my last amp for quite a while!!!!

I picked this up today from my friend who picked up for me in Jacksonville - we met each other half way in Tallahassee. My friends - this is not a B&K 200.5 ...yes it says it on the front, but what it is .....its a 200.5 with the 200.7 upgrade!!!!! I got a 200.7 for $275 bucks!!!!!!!

Shipping would still put them at under $900.00 for a pair. Isn't that still an OK price for them? Not if they don't work. I worries me the seller doesn't want to do local pickup. I can't see why anyone would want to ship them when someone is willing to come pick them up for free. That would raise a red flag with me. Pickup is sooooo much easier for both parties. Serious red flag for sure. I sent the poster an e-mail asking for more pictures of the complete exterior and internal components and verification that everything is in full working order, and no response. I can't think of any viable reason to deny local pick up. Seems like all they've done is purchase on e-bay and I can't find a reference regarding them selling anything. denying local pic up for La Scalas????!!!!!! That's a blood red flag!!!!
