  1. I've added some 4" acoustical foam from ats acoustics which really improved imaging for me. I can now easily pin point where instruments are forwards and backwards as well as from left to right. Questions: Looking at the graphs below, would I benefit from 8 corner and ceiling mounted bass traps too? I see decay issues below 200Hz, but should I really worry about these? What am I missing by leaving things as is? Is there some improvement in bass tightness I could achieve, and would it be worth $1k worth of bass traps from GIK or ATS Acoustics? Also, are the dips at 117.5 Hz and 314 Hz on the FR plot with no smoothing worth worrying about? They disappear with 1/6th smoothing, but they can't be room modes right since that frequency has a wavelength way bigger than my room, right? PS: the subs pictured are not the ones in the plot. I'm trying out some SVS PB13-ultras, but they are in the same location as the RT12d's. I removed the RT12d's from the room temporarily.
  2. Because you need folks to "manage," do administrative tasks, train others, etc... just like with any company. Essential just means your job is necessary for life, safety, etc... Only those out in the field usually meet this criteria, but some of the top dogs meet it too since you need someone in charge if all hell breaks loose. Jesting here but: if their jobs are 'non-essential' why do they exist? I get it, I have several 'access' cards to establish essential-nest. One if it's a storm, one if it's a threat, one if it's a ice cream cone melting.
  3. I get a bit emotional about the paid shutdown thing. It really sucks when you have to come into work, and your colleagues who have "non-essential" jobs get paid more than you to sit on their butts at home (due to locality in places like DC, Atlanta, Dallas, etc). Really really sucks being on that side of things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for extra money to due my job, but some sort of award or recognition would be nice.
  4. Definitely use T-pins. That's what I did a few weeks ago; no issues at all. There is no tape solution that's going to stick without falling and not damage your paint when you remove it. Spray would work, but I'd hate to see how many coats of paint it takes to cover when you move or sell your home. I bought the 4" acoustical foam from ATS Acoustics. It was the cheapest option, and is made in the US. It does have that foamy smell to it. The smell is slowly dying down. I think it'll be completely gone in a few more weeks. Just be sure to cover about 20% of the room's surfaces, in the key locations to reduce early reflections. It made a world of difference in imaging for me. The mid-range is noticeably cleaner and more detailed too. I 100% feel like I'm there; all it took was this foam and Klipsch speakers.
  5. Forgot to mention it, but the RC-64 is gone and the RS-62 will ship early next week. Hopefully, I'll find someone interested in the RF-82's or RF-83's as I'm going to post them locally tonight.
  6. Thread is here: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/98212-palladium-arrival/page-3 Post is here: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/98212-palladium-arrival/?p=1836694
  7. Schu, I'm sorry. I can't really ship them. I seriously can barely move the things as it is. If you want to find a company that will package, pallet and ship them at your expense, I'd be fine with that. Of course, you're always welcome to make the drive, but it's up to you. I'm going to assume shipping costs would kill the deal either way. Sadly, we just live to far apart!
  8. It's not the same guy, but if you're brother is interested and doesn't mind driving a ways, I can make him a great deal on some LS II's!
  9. If they're not gone this next week, that's where they're going. Too bad it's $50 to list them there. No way am I able to list them as basic and accept only paypal with a local pickup only transaction. The good news is all the perspective buyers on the RS-62 and RC-64 contacted me today to discuss payment This will help cool the wife down until I can sell some more stuff. My wife is peeved at the amount of money I've spent on my theater lately. I don't see what the big deal is, every guy goes through a midlife crisis; mine just came earlier than most!

    WTB: RC-64

I have one posted here: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/155565-la-scala-ii-b-stock-near-columbia-sc-local-pickup-only-also-selling-rf-83s-rf-82s-rs-62s-and-rc-64/ I have one potential guy interested though. He was supposed to call me tonight, but I haven't heard from him. If he doesn't send me money by Friday, I'll sell to you. PM me your email and I can send pics.
  11. RC-64 and RS-62's look to be sold. The VA guy found out it was going to be 300 miles each way and backed out. I don't know why as I drove farther than that to buy the LS II's! I'll cross off items in the original post after I've received payment for them. There is a guy from Greenville coming to look at the LS II pair this weekend. This second guy says he's for sure coming and is a lot closer so I believe him. I posted the La Scala II's in multiple areas, and craigslist is getting decent traffic after only having the ad up for a few days.
  12. No problem my friend. I totally understand. Just let me know if you decide to sell your Cornwall's in the future and I'll hold onto the nicer pair for you until you're ready to purchase. I'm not sure if this VA guy will buy the b-stock pair yet either, but he seemed very interested and had owned La Scala's in the past. He said he had an old beater pair he sold for $1300 after crites upgrades, and really regrets selling them as all other speakers sound like car speakers to him now!
  13. I can tell you that P39f's on my ATI AT2007 amp (differential solid state amp, 300 Watts full bandwidth into 4 ohms with all 7 channels driven) sound fantastic! The accurate sounding bass out of these things is mind blowing considering they aren't horn loaded.
  14. Billy, They sure would! I'm by no means trying to rush you or anyone else that's expressed some interest... but there's a guy in VA who's very interested and has a truck. He wants to think on it tonight, so he hasn't given me a firm yes or no either. If you for sure want them, please text me ASAP and I'll let the other guy know. I don't mind giving you dibs if you want them since you sold me your P39f's and I think you're a nice guy! Otherwise, I'd be willing to consider selling my A stock pair, but it would have to be for more money than asking for these since they're in perfect shape and come with boxes too. I was wanting to keep that pair as I like the sound of the La Scala's a lot. Worse comes to worse though, you could make me an offer I couldn't refuse on the "A" stock pair if you need to wait on purchasing. I'll understand either way though as it's an expensive purchase...
  15. Hanging out with duder and seeing all those awesome horns and drivers was very neat. Duder's home made jamboree really impressed me. I loved the bass it produced. Every bit as good as anything I've ever heard including the jubilee bass bin! For those that don't know him, duder is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He's alright in my book. I'll have to for sure stop by for a visit next time I'm in NE.
  16. I went with duder, and the guy selling these is 100% legit. He is for sure an EV dealer and a world class EV pack rat. I'm willing to bet that he has the best EV selection in the nation. Too bad he's in NE and not SC. I've never seen so many horns! PM me pictures and I will get back with you to tell you what you have - 100% original - electrovoice and the last batches made -I can get them for 30.00 each. If anybody is interested.
  17. Your MC275 would absolutely love them! Talk about a drool worthy setup. Make me an offer I can't refuse.
  18. I'm sorry for not wanting to ship these. I know several very well respected and nice forum members have expressed interest in having these shipped. They're just so heavy (175lbs each), and I can barely move them as it is.
  19. I have a serious question about coffee. Am I the only one who always takes a big dump after drinking coffee or a crappuccino? I thought I was...until I googled it and found that coffee beans are actually a laxative for most people!?! http://www.livestrong.com/article/476658-the-effects-of-eating-coffee-beans/
  20. It's more like my wife finally started adding up how much I spent, and now wants a SUV instead!
  21. I sure am. Please PM me. Although I don't have an urgent need to sell, I'd like everything gone in two weeks and can work some on the price.
  22. I still have an emotional attachment to the 83's as they were the first real speaker I ever bought. How close are you to Columbia, SC? I'd love to work out a package deal with you if you want to go 7.2 or 11.2 on your reference setup. The 83's are one heck of a speaker made in Hope, Arkansas. I also have dual RT-12d's I'd sell. These will be sold last, but if someone wants a reference package deal and has cash, I'm willing to do without subs for the time being.
  23. These really are very sensitive speakers. I had to use a balanced XLR padding circuit between my preamp and amp due to the sensitivity of these things. I'll include the padding circuits I made if someone buys these. They are XLR "H-pads." I think they were -15dB, but can't remember. They'll ensure a speaker level closer to 0 so that Audyssey will work better too.
  24. Yes I bought them from a FL guy in late 2013 or early 2014, can't remember the exact date. He sold them because he was moving to Thailand to be with his wife. I know he loved the speakers...
  25. I hate to sell these, but I have too many speakers... Details: NEW LOWER PRICE, WAS $2500! Walnut La Scala II B-stock pair. local pickup only near Columbia, SC These are sequential serial numbers, but marked as b-stock I think B-stock means there's a slight miss match between the top and bottom grain structure (there is no mismatch between color between pieces) Some slight dings (see circles in pictures) Finish colors vary somewhat in the picture due to LED lighting in my room, all four pieces (two tops and two bottoms) match perfectly. These are hooked up so you can hear that they work. No refunds cash only. Not the original owner, but the speakers look and sound great! I sold here before to sully141. I've met duder1982, MichaelandKlipsch, Chris A and wstrickland1 in person. I've bought from: wstrickland1, Tullhead and rscotth. Everyone I've met here has been great, so I thought I'd give you guys first dibs before craigslist. 7 reference speakers sold in two weeks! No one seems to want these lovely speakers though?
