  1. Small, fully horn loaded, and able to match up to Khorns/Jubs/LaScala's, might work in some rooms or confined listening areas, but as with everything else, there are limitations.  The 1802, was amazing when I heard it in Hope, I'm certain the 1502 is pretty great as well, but it's size, WAF and cost that generally guide all purchases and builds, so most people will never go that direction.  Next SWAG, I hope we can get as many subs as we had speakers and can do a real comparison.  Would love to put the 15 or 1802 through it's paces with other DIY and production subs that are out there.

I don't have that problem.  Whenever I can't find something I just ask my wife where it is.

I do that as well, because most of the time, it's where she put it, but not all.  When she helps me find things, she uses it as an opportunity to try and inventory my gear and equipment, but I move it around a lot to keep her guessing.

three ring circus around here this AM

We've had a situation brewing for a while with some neighbors. A slow motion train wreck. Squatters turned into a meth kitchen. Folks playing with guns and all kinds of fun...

got up at 3 to hit the can... saw flashing lights at the end of the street.....An ambulance and cops all over their place. Thought I heard gunfire early on... around 2, but didn't get up to see. That's how often it was happening  over there.... I'm guessing their fun came to an end....and we can relax... again.

I'm sure it will be all the scuttlebutt in town...

That's a lot to process.  I'm sure we will get the update as you find out what went down.

Well I told Richie I wouldn't tell that he was the one who said I was a disappointment so I'll just stay mum on that one.  Now you could expect that from Pete....but Richie?

The only disappointment for me has been the fact that I've not been able to meet you at any of the gatherings (3) that I've been to.

    Thanks Pete !

    Much Gratitude

Basically, I do not want to under power the speakers in fear of blowing them via distortion.

I also want to improve the low end down to 50hz and then have my 3 subs handle the lower frequencies.

My intention was to put 500 Watts “TOTAL”

    to each RF-7, equaling 1- KDA-1000.

I just did some research and found that I can BRIDGE 1/2 & 3/4 via GUI if needed.

in your opinion would you go my route(500w) or stick with not bridging any channels and going with 250w per RF-7.

i also 100% do not want to blow the 7’s... lol.

I wish Klipsch’s cust serv would straighten their act out and start responding to their customers.

Had I known they were like this, I NEVER would have purchased over 15K in KLIPSCH products... But IMO ya can’t beat the sound.

    Again Pete,

    Much Gratitude

My opinion would be to feed them 250 per channel and don't bi-amp and you're going to get everything out of the 7's that's intended, especially if you're crossing them at 50hz, higher depending on your subs and how you handle that frequency and where you want to take the subs up to.   Full disclosure, shortly, my 7's which are really my granddaughters, will be going into her bedroom and she will have a much lower watt receiver pushing them until I'm 100% certain that she's not going to damage her hearing or her speakers.  BTW, she's 3.5

    Welcome to the forum.

These members will help you sort it out. You are in the right place for correct answers.

    Thanks!

Well said Bro!  LOL, Now, to be serious for a moment, welcome to the forum, there are people providing information that have or have had RF7's, and I'm on that list as well.  I've run no less than 5 amps on my 7's, from 60 watt to probably 600 watts, not that they need it beyond a certain point.  They are currently being run with an Emotiva that's around 300 and it doesn't drive them any better than some Carvers I had on them at 200wpc and neither did the pro amps feeding them with 500+, but they do, IMHO sound better in the bass section to separate quality amps that are rated at or above the 150 mark.  The bass section responds much better, not louder, but there was a distinct difference to me in the bottom end.  Bi amping the 7's to me, is a waste of time, with the exception of possibly running an amp on the horn be it a tube, or another amp that would color the mids and highs, more to your liking.  My .02 worth.

Hi @seti  , yep this is an older thread , what kind of speakers are these  in the picture , I remember a Klipsch speaker that looked somewhat  like this  but not sure  -------they look like  the MiniPunch  but they are not square cabs , are these 15 or 12's ----tx

If I'm not mistaken, those are JWCs "Snails" that were dual 15's.

Thanks.  Do not use the ozone generator feature.

They have their place and uses, but should be run to clear areas of odors without humans being in the room because of the possible irritation.  They are not filters in the traditional sense.  They are strictly for odor elimination and I know of nothing that can handle those problems better, but I know people that run them constantly, and I would not do that.

  9. I've run filter queen units for over a decade.  Filters down to .1 micron and I've picked them up used over the years for as little as $100, though the filters run about 60-70 and they get changed out yearly and the carbon wraps about 2x's a year.  I run 3 in my home.

  10. The inventory is going down, which was the goal.  I still have some other items that I need to list, but I'll start another thread.  I have to install a new iec plug on the RSW15 plate amp and then that's ready to list, if the spud doesn't go soon, I'm going to pull the drivers and they will be repurposed. LOL, Have a NIB DJI phantom 3 (of course I had to get 2 of them) and I have to finish the final set of KP250's and make a decision on those as well as some other receivers and gear that's laying around.  Baby steps.

I'm reading Tarheel's posts.  GD so much fun.

You obviously got the visual of him taking a ride with his top down didn't you?  LOL  I guess it's better than him saying it was a beautiful day for a ride with his pants down.  LMAO.  @Tarheel you should have come to SWAG, you would fit right in.  BTW, what's your gauge regarding a good philly cheese steak in N.C.?

I heard a story about a theater that has been hosting live music for decades, mostly hard rock. The owner got tired of constantly yelling at sound guys, band members, for constantly upping the volume on instruments.....so he went all acoustic. He claimed the change didn't affect the profitability of his business at all, and a lot of the hard stuff sounds great on acoustic. He only allows ambient mics on stage.

My neighbors started a petition for me to go all acoustic as well.......................but I put a big VETO stamp on it.

Very nice, interesting read and picked up a few new tricks. I PL'ed everything and had to use sandpaper to clean up joints, not fun. Thanks for posting it will help now and on my next build.

Great!  That's why we're all here.  Great community and many have helped me along the way and continue to.  What are you powering the F20 with?  It doesn't take much.

  17. Not trying to thread crap at all, but I do have a Technics SL1200MK2 for sale that I'm getting ready to put on ebay if anyone has an interest.  I spun 3 records on it setting up the arm and cartridge and other than that, it and the cartridge are new.  I purchased both new years ago and never placed it in any of my setups. PM me if interested.  Back to your regularly scheduled program.

Sitting in the shop this evening and pondering how amazing these Eminence drivers  are with certain aspects of music. Also thinking of what would they be like as HF for the super MWM's. Considering the idea of a three way and letting the 402+1132 which is crossed over at 650 stay the same and then add in the NX with the 10 x 18 EBay horn to go along with it at say maybe 6hz and up with an L-Pad. The airy super definition of that Eminence would really work well I am thinking. While I am at it I might try these 15" B&C woofers I was given to try for speaker builds and see how they work in the S-MWM bins. I want to fire these up at the next swag and watch everyone look at their arms as the hair stands straight up. You don't believe that happens? Well yes actually it does.

That's for darn sure!  Do you already have the 10x18 horn?  Is that the ZPX Bi Radial, or something else.  Got my popcorn ready and will be curious as to the comparison of the 2 way versus 3.  I should have left you the ESS AMT's to add to the testing.
