    $curious$

Insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies as well as politicians have colluded to get you to where we are now. The uninsured have little to do with overall cost. Go vote on Tuesday. Keith
  2. He not only implied that he suggested it. All things being equal there is no incentive to be competitive, to excel. The 'Participation Trophy' principle then comes into play. Keith
  3. Check out the Vizio M65-70 at Sam's for $769 with free shipping.

Let's hope the Doctor is wrong. There is so much that can be done for cancer nowadays. So much more than just a few years ago. It is possible to get rid of it as well as, at least, extending life for years. Don't stress about it because, well, glooble 'stress and cancer'. I've been dealing with it for just over 2 years now and have been thru the gamut. It's not a death sentence. Tell Mike to be tough Stew. He can do it. The treatment may beat you down but in your greatest time of need God will lift you up. You'll see. Keith
  5. How much width do you have between your speakers? I saw your picture on page 1.
  6. After seeing Chuck in his costume I was too afraid to go outside. Keith
  7. I'm of that generation that is ruining the future of future generations by taking advantage of all the entitlement programs. All it took was working for 44 years. None of it was easy though. But you knew that ... GrandPaw. (no smiley to appease oldtimer) Keith
  8. Thanks for the update Chuck. It seems that natural disasters have about a one day cycle nowadays. The Carolinas disaster was just about like the flooding in Texas and the panhandle in Florida. After a day or two you hear nothing else about it. The runoff situation in the panhandle will affect seafood also. I read that 90% of the oysters that supply Florida and 10% nationwide come from Apalachicola Bay. Not to mention shrimp and fish. I'll have to pass on those for a while. Good luck with the repairs. Patience is a virtue they say. Keith
  9. That monster in the blue shirt is really scary!
  10. I don't know what your generation is but it's somewhat comical that voter turnout is lower among younger voters at this time when their future is pretty much on the line. Snooze/lose. Keith
  11. I'm too lazy to find the appropriate thread Chuck but I'm wondering how the recovery from the himacaine is coming along locally. I know from the pictures of the other one in Mexico Beach was sickening to me seeing how the pier I stood on a year ago is no longer there, not to mention the surrounding homes/town. Also wondering if you heard or saw any reports of the impact on seafood from the floodwaters. Keith
  12. You should re-read my post. I edited out the UHD and replaced it with HDR. All those letters get confusing. The HDR is much brighter with more vivid colors. Adds a lot to movies and regular TV too. I would not buy a TV without it. The 4K may be more resolution than is broadcast but overall the purchase is worth it to me. That XBR55X900F in your link is priced $1199 here locally. Good luck.
  13. Apparently you're not married. Keith
  14. The next TV I buy will most likely be another Sony XBR 4K with HDR. I bought a 49" XBR android for a bedroom a year ago and from 8 feet away it's too big. My neck gets tired moving my head back and forth following all those pass completions when Alabama plays. I have a 65" Vizio (non-HDR) in my living room and its no slouch. Prior to the Vizio 5 years ago I've owned Sony TV's only since 1991. The Vizio I have now was probably a better picture than the Sony's of that time. But the current Sony HDR have a terribly good vivid and colorful picture. I would not recommend any TV without HDR after seeing the difference. In fact I've been thinking about buying a 43" Sony XBR 4K HDR for the bedroom like the 49" and moving the 49" to another bedroom that has a longer viewing distance. Go look at them. The local BB has a 65" Sony XBR65X850F for $1399, comparable smaller screen sizes for less. If you don't care for the features the XBR models have the regular line of 4K HDR's are even less. Get a HDR TV. And good luck. Keith
  15. Those are worth much more than the asking price. Those apparently belong to those HG celebrities Chit & Yohanna Grains. The shiplap is a dead giveaway.
  16. I do that now but it's because the Crimson Tide just keeps winning game after game, Championship after Championship. Over and over again, it's like Ground Hog Day. But at least the trance is quarantined to the SEC. People up around Michigan and Ohio have rarely, if ever, experienced the trance. Keith
  17. Who cares. At least we, us right here, are all happy in our own little world. F*** everyone else. (I would post this on Facebutt and those other things but I don't own a "SMART" phone)
  18. Well, that would be your concern if you have been affected by Healthcare costs. If you are one of the many that live in the dream world that their health will never be an issue in their lives then Healthcare costs are not an important issue. I personally do have great concern for others Healthcare costs because I have recently met many people that cannot afford the costs of some care and therefore die prematurely. I think of it as Domestic Oppression. This Domestic Oppression concerns me more than Chinese Oppression because I don't know any Chinese people. Keith
  19. You can get your information directly from the horse's mouth many times. If you rely/ believe what you read then the chances that you are mis-informed is high.
  20. You rotate them, just like stocking pickles on the grocery shelf. Keith
  21. It's pretty simple. One politician promises to kiss my @ss. Another politician promises to kick my @***. As their past practice supports their promises, I choose the kicker since he's a self-professed christian(small c) holding a gun. Keith
  22. I, like half the population, find political ads a great source for alternate facts. You can't believe what politicians do, just believe what they say. Truth isn't Truth. Keith

    Another Thread

Good one. I laughed. No, I retired. I remember an RN asking me around 142 questions back before first radiation. She asked to rate my stress on a scale of 0 to 10. I told her I have absolutely no stress in my life at all. She peeked over a monitor and asked exactly what I meant by that. I told her I retired and didn't worry about sheit. That's the way it is. No smarts required. I do have some concerns about deciding what I want for my next meal though. Keith
