  1. tljraj, don't have an answer for your set-up question, sorry, but instead have a question for you.I have been looking for info on the Klipsch KT-LCR line of speakers.Have had no luck.Interested in specs, pics, etc.Any idea of where to find info? Thanks. Keith
  2. Stu, Do I know you? Seems I've heard the name before. Dum Bass
  3. myram, whattya gonna use the KV3 with? Keith
  4. dcb, Don't be in such a hurry to spend those dollars.Do you know someone that maybe has an amp you can borrow and try out before you buy one? Maybe the dealer where you buy your speakers has a demo you could borrow and try out.I have a Sony ES reciever I bought years ago along with an Acurus amp and haven't used the reciever amps over maybe one hour in 6 years. There is no doubt that a separate amp will provide much more power to the speakers than a comparable reciever with the benefit of improved dynamics.I personally believe that a speaker as large as the Legends cry for more power and if you had the opportunity to try it for yourself I'm sure you would understand what I am saying.I KNOW just a few watts will drive the 20's but a few hundred will make them sing.My opinion.(Wish I had some help out of those separates worshipers right about now).Don't know about the part.Sorry. Keith
  5. NIB KLIPSCH KSPC6 center.Shoot me a private message. IT WON'T BE CHEAP! Keith
  6. Anyone interested in a NEW IN BOX KSPC6 center channel speaker shoot me a private message. IT WON'T BE CHEAP! Keith
  7. dcb, I don't know about the hiss problems, but I can almost guarantee you that if you get yourself something like a 200X3 Acurus amp you will find a large improvement in the dynamics of the KLF20's and the bass will magically appear. Keith

    RC-3

bayer,I've got KG5.5's and I would suggest to you that you go with the C7 center. It will easily outplay the 5.5's or anything else you use it with. You'll have to throttle back the center.Klipsch recommends the RC3 center but to my ears its too bright with the 5.5's.The C7 has a warmer?bassier? sound than the RC3 and is a good match for them.I bought the C7 to use with my 5.5's with the idea of buying KLF20's to go in front and the 5.5's in the rear. But just after getting the C7 I ran into a deal on 5 KSP300's so I never finished that combo. My advice would be to demo both if possible.I do not think you would be unhappy with the KLFC7. Keith
  9. WOW! Ray you really know how to answer a question! As I was scrolling down reading your answer I jumped back when the La Scala kicked in.Then as I was reading your descriptive musical passage(I was really enjoying it)my wife walked by and I asked her if she wanted to dance! She shook her head and kept walking, as usual. Anyway, I'll have to think about the lack of bass part.Just this morning I was listening to some bass heavy jazz and heard a reasonating/buzzing? type sound.Got up looking for speaker problems and found the plastic front screen surround on my RP Sony resonating.Four KSP/sub combo is loaded with bass(the good fast tight kind).Guess its hard to cover both ends and the middle. But I can still see the coming when I'll have to try something with a little more lumber. Anyway, thanks for the responses and keep those cards and letters comin'. Keith P.S. My wife said I needed to duct tape the TV to stop the buzzing.Ain't life grand.
  10. Thanks Doug, finally found the quote above on the Denon website. Finally got the answer with everyone's help and Denon's website.Guess i'll go with the 3801 unless I find a steal on a 3300.No hurry,I stay about three moves ahead of myself, like to think about it and save myself any surprises.Boy,I can hear it now! Keith
  11. "For heightened surround sound music listening enjoyment from stereo program material, the AVR-3801 includes Denon's exclusive 7-Channel Stereo and 5-Channel Stereo modes. In 7-channel stereo mode, all three sets of left and right speakers(front, rear and surround back)reproduce a full fidelity unprocessed stereo and the center channel provides an L+R blend. This feature enables listeners to enjoy music reproduction from all the speakers in a seven-channel multichannel home entertainment system rather than from only the two left and right front speakers, but without the artificially created ambience and reverberant colorations of other soundfield simulation systems. The AVR-3801 also includes a 5-Channel Stereo mode, ideal for use in 5.1 channel home entertainment systems,in which both sets of left and right speakers(front and rear)reproduce full-bandwith stereo and the center channel provides a mixture of left and right front signal." 13. Guess I'll buy some JBL's. Keith
  14. Thanks for the post BartW.Local dealer bad mouthed Sony(which I have and love)and demonstrated to me how quite the Denon was (with Reference speakers). Now I'll be sure to look out for that when upgrading?. Quenten,I'll bet you're right.I can tell you this.In January 95 I was looking for good mid priced power amps.Someone recommended to me the Acurus line, which I had never heard of.Researched and ended up buying Acurus. The sound is much more dynamic throughout with that great tight punchy bass.I love em.Just another smart move by Klipsch(acquiring Mondial Designs). Its going to be a great ride. Keith
  15. What kind of TV's are you Klipsch fanatics using? Thanks, Keith
  16. WOW! RWMIN, for the fast read you certainly got a good grasp on my question. That is exactly what I wanted to know.I originally thought of the 3801 for the reciever upgrade but lately I've thought more about the 3300.Does't the 3300 have the cooling fan? What are your thoughts on that(noisy?).Anyway what I want to do is exactly as you described for music(I love da music).I have 4- KSP300's in the four corners with a KSFC5 center(got a C7 for a spare)and KSPS6 surrounds. Also have an SW12II sub. What I would like is the option to run all of the above for music.I understand the loss in volume you speak of when switching to 5 channel (processor),but wanted to be sure to get full range signal to all speakers,as I get now with line level signal to separate amps.As far as the serious music listening goes I LOVE DA MUSIC.Did I mention that?Anywho, I appreciate everyone's input on the matter.BTW RWMIN,what is your take on the Denon sound(read coloration)with your Legends as opposed to any other brand electronics you've used with them,if any? Thanks, Keith
  17. ERR UHH, that is,when you get it Aaron. Keith
  18. Arron Norris, wondering what you think of the KV3 with the KG5.5's.I have 5.5's that I'm not using right now but when I did I used a KV2 and later a C7.Just interested in your opinion.Keith
  19. I, like everyone else, would like to eventually own a pair of Belle Klipsch's.I am unable to hear them locally at my dealer because my dealer does not stock them.I certainly do not plan to spend my money on speakers that I cannot demo first. What I would like to hear from some of you knowledgeable Belle owners is some insight as to what I can expect to hear as compared to the more contemporary Klipsch speakers such as Legends,Epics,or what I am using right now,the KSP's.I know there are Belle owners out there that had or have other Klipsch speakers and I would like each of your subjective comments.I also know that you probably like to talk about them,so talk to me.Thanks in advance for your detailed comments.Keith
  20. t-man, there is one thing I can definitely you and that is that the KV2 should blend very well with the KG's.It was designed to work with them. You could get a KLFC7 and the first thing you'll notice is that it overplays the heck out of the KG's.Then you'll just back it down several DB's to match the output of your KG's and you'll get a tonal match that is not as good as the KV2. I have seen first hand the sound difference in various Klipsch lines and it is somewhat amazing. For instance using the C7 with KSP's the sound from the C7 is great.Good bass, sort of a slight coloration toward the low end. Then, trying the KSFC5 center that was optimized for the KSP300's the tonal difference is surprising.Clearer vocals, less low end (maybe percieved)and I could immediately tell how much the C5 just blended with the fronts to create kind of a "seamless sound stage".(Don't you just hate to use those cliches?)Anyway the high dollar C7 is in storage along with the KG5.5's (I still love it-great center)so I guess what I am saying to you is that what I noticed was not so much the difference while using the C7 with the KSP's but the immediate audible difference when swapping from the C7 Legend center to the KSPC5 center with the KSP300's. It appears those guys at Hope know what they are doing.Be careful with the center speaker choice.BTW,if you find an Academy how about getting two of them and sell me one.I'd like to add it to the collection.Next-Belles. Keith
  21. Hey t-man, how do you like the KV-2.Had time to decide yet? Keith
  22. tblasing, Why would you use $135 plugs on .99 cent per foot wire? Get you some decent $5 to $6 bananas and you won't hear the difference over all that coin in your pocket. Keith
  23. Come out of your left/right front preouts to Niles audio distribution amplifier to two 200 watt x 5 channel Acurus amps to 5 pairs of KLF30's.Spread speakers generously around room and turn volume to 12 o'clock.Enjoy. Keith
  24. alynmar, there is such a box,I bought one in 1994.It allows for two amp/two speaker pair hookup, with volume.Made by Russound and cost $169 back then.It is a nice piece of equipment that allows you to switch either speaker pair to either amp and control the volume.Ordered it from NY prior to the internet thing.Had to order by-TELEPHONE?Lets say you had the setup RWMIN has but the rear floorstanders were to close to seating position. You could simply turn then down. Then switch from power amp to AV reciever for HT surround.Worked great these years but in this modern age would like to run five speakers with La-Z-Boy convienence. Thanks for answering one of my questions too RWMIN.
