  1. You might be able to strike a dialogue with someone here to split a set of KLF 20's for the same endeavor.
  2. The same wire from your 8.5's (gauge wise) you'll find in any KLIPSCH speaker excluding the hyped up marketing tool of Monster Cable installed in all Reference and newly re-released Heritage speakers.
  3. PS2 SSX TRICKY plays in DTS as well
  4. Yep I've had two occasions Some time ago I had a JBL with no sound from the tweeter so I opened it up and the tweeter was disconnected from the positive lead. When I picked up my KLF 30's there was this ricochet sound emitting from one of the cabinets while still in the box. So at the store the salesmen cracked it open and found that magnet unthreaded itself from the mid horn.
  5. Simple surgury. Remove screws check the condition of wires i.e. did they come off the horn either one or both if the magnet has come off the horn this will require a little more patience. remove the top woofer and disconnect mark the positive and negative to avoid confusion search for magnet be gentel (remember the game operaion?) find magnet remove positve/negative leads mark to avoid confusion (tag for tweeter) gently screw on magnet Do Not over torque it just hand tighten. I beleive there's some type of plummers tape on the threads. bring the tweeter wires to the top and reconnect replace screws reconnect the woofer replace screws you should be in business.
  6. Price don't know. you'll need a screwdriver a dish to hold the screws gently remove the positive and negative leads or whatever you call them. tag the woofer which is suspect so you won't confuse good from bad. remove woofer from the good cabinet. replace with the working woofer. test. This should not be a complicated precedure.
  7. Have you considered installing Bucking Magnets? That'll take care of your shielding issue.
  8. Sounds like the woofer is suspect. You could troubleshoot further and switch out woofers. If the woofer is bad call 1-800-KLIPSCH and get the parts department. anybody else? And by the way welcome to KLIPSCHLAND!
  9. Yep I use 4 KLF 30's and a C7 and I just picked up a sub which realy rounds out the 30's. Look up some of HornEd's stuff he's got one set that's just leaping with Legends!
  10. Check your banjo at the door.
  11. So would it fit the bill for ULTRA or SELECT THX?
  12. Depending on space you could go the route and pick up another set KLF 20's for the rear or the older KSP-S6 (WDST) would fit the bill. I use 4 KLF 30's, C7 and a LF-10 for a sub and it's quite lethal for an apartment. This was a heated topic sometime back between 2 forum members. One camp was WDST and the other Full Range all the way. both folks had valid points and I respect those two members knowledge since I am still leraning daily here. hope this sparks more interest.
  13. I'm still learning here so bear with Is there a selector for the Gain? Does your receiver have two Sub jacks? One's for LFE the .1 and the other would be for DVD-AUDIO, SACD, EXTERNAL AMPS? That was my first mistake next was the GAIN selector I put the sub master level about half and full tilt on the GAIN and BINGO! A belated thanks to TheEar and KAR What receiver do you have? Hope this helps
  14. I beleive you want to choose the "Line In" on the sub that's where the splitter comes in
  15. Q, I gave it a listen a few months ago when the "Pomps and Pipes" was the hot topic. I spent some time at the Orlando Sound Advice (Sand Lake near the Florida Mall) with the fella I buy from. Track 4 titled "The Vikings" just about leveled the place!. I've only heard a handful of subs Klipsch,Velodyne,MacIntosch and M&K hands dowm the Martin Logan was quite amazing! I can't fathom what would be better unless Ears has something in his quiver to take down this goliath! Gene at Sound Advice mentioned that Martin Logan has a smaller on on the way with three eight inch drivers I'm unclear on the amp. For 3K I wonder what would compare in the Land of SVS or even your Sunfire at that.
  16. Well I went from subless to picking up a LF-10 and I seem to have no idea what involved. What I do know is I have a Yamaha 995, 4 KLF 30's and a C7 plus a sub cable with splitter presently it's plugged into the "line in" on the back of the sub. Any help would be great even some humor from the Elf would be fine. John
  17. Well I'm 34 though my Fiance would argue that.
  18. I believe it's crossover related. Can't get into detail since I don't quite have a handle on it yet.
  19. For starters is your center new? if so check your wiring from amp to speaker double check that it's correct. If no sound is coming from the tweeter you could preform some exploritory surgery and check to see if any of the leads have came loose. hope this helps
  20. Welcome, If your audio shop will let you try out a pair for a weekend you could A/B them with all types of media etc. So you can decide for yourself in your enviorment and at your prefered listening levels and pace. Folks here will tell ya from experience that it either works or it's all just smoke and mirrors. Just let your ears decide!
  21. "We care that there be places people can go to audition Klipsch" In that case were in Florida can I audition a set of your fine Heritage Product? I'm not trying to open up a can of flames here just I don't understand how you can market a product with little or no exposure. And yes I'm aware of the past driver dilemma. Sure we have folks on this board which are located in the Central Florida area which I could open up some type of dialaog with them and maybe set up a chance to visit and listen. That's great but I'm a shy person and quite quiet at times. So that would be an uncomfortable hour or so. How about a KLIPSCH Hertiage tour you could trailer the Heritage line to supporting audio salons so folks could at least see, hear, feel the hype and possibly purchase. even do set ups in convention centers of that of course comes from the Legacy folks. even better just have one audio salon in each state be a "Flagship Klipsch" store. I will now step off the soapbox. "Fire at will"

    Amelie DVD

Well I'm not one to talk about movies but if your able to get past the subtitles, Amelie is an absolute gem and the DD 5.1 is rather entertaining as well!
  23. just my 2 cents please avoid choosing the month of May. Would hate to compete with the Indy 500.
