  1. You can get the Integra Processor and Emotiva XPA5 for far less than the funds you have. For 999 out of 1000 ears, you would be wasting money to spend any more. I'm running that setup with a Heritage theater and used to use it with the Ultra2 system and it was jaw dropping with both!
  2. Bill, we almost have twins! Or is it sixtuplets? A floor standing center is one of the most imactful changes to my room.
  3. We've used our projector over 1500 hours in about 8 months. Movies three nights a week, football on Saturday and Sunday and gaming on the PS3. All activities are priceless on a huge screen and I'd do what I had to do to control the light. We use our upstairs tv as background noise only.
  4. Looks good! Is this your first? I've been through 12 years and 4 generations of projectors, and we really are in the golden age of front projection! Performance will now exceed expectations in a price range that makes sense for the masses.
  5. I think the amps are really that good! I was using a Denon receiver to run the THX Ultra2 system and switched to an XPA5. It is impressive physically and sonically. I don't know what more you could expect from an amp? I suspect there prices will rise with popularity.
  6. Coytee, I'd enjoy the trip I'm sure! What side of Knoxville are you on? I'm about 45 minutes south of Asheville. My luck you'll be on the West side. I'm sure I'll love any of the mentioned options, particularly the JubScala. I'm not going to have the budget to do something like that for awhile though. So I'll be living with stock LaScalas for awhile. I've been cut to half time at work and my room construction is sucking up all the money. You know, carpet, walls, electrical....on and on.
  7. Peter, assuming you get that THT to play nice in your room, you will not feel any urge to try another sub option. Outside of just being curious! Hey, my Danley's can mimic an IB (irritable bowels). When my Dad was last visiting we watched "Flight" of the Phoenix. That plane crash at 120db left him physically ill. He told me I had to stop that it gave him Irritated Bowles. LOL! True story. He got sick.
  8. You guys make it futile to resist! I'll move it up to the top of my priority list. Stay tuned. I'll be calling you guys in on the project. I'd like to do it between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but have a feeling the holidays are about to make life crazy. If my room would suddenly sound like a blanket had been lifted off the speakers, then it would be CRAZY good! It's already the best I've had or even heard.
  9. This forum treats photos a little differently than any other I've been on. I use Google's Picassa to reduce the photos. You can choose any number of photo editing softwares (free) that will do the trick. If you're new to digital photos, Picassa is something you should at least investigate. Reduce the image size down to something around 800x600 pixels and you should have better luck. I'm no expert, maybe someone has better instruction.
  10. Chasls2, I had the same issues. You need to reduce the size of the images, or it will crop them for you.
  11. Thanks for the photo Heli ! I see you're in Charlotte. I'm about an hour from the Charlotte airport. If you're ever out my way drop me a line....you can come critique my audio! It would be interesting to see if you and I are having similar experience with the Danley's. I heard one other room with twin Danley's and he wasn't getting as much out of them as I am.
  12. Dennie, you sound pretty encouraging about the improvement I can expect. And you're right, I'm currently left wondering how it could get much better! But I trust in you. Peter, thanks for the info. My center is an AA, my left and right are AL. I know the AL's aren't preferred, but I'll probably stick with them. I can't tackle the caps right now, but I'll search you guys both out when I'm ready. I'm still in room construction with lots of budget going to fun things like sheetrock and carpet! Yippie!
  13. Thanks Guys! Peter, I'm hoping that's the final solution for the RS62's. I'm going to have to build some sort of frame that goes around them and also gets upholstered. Dennie, no, I haven't....I want to do the caps, but was putting it off because, well....it doesn't have to be done. I do feel at times that they sound a bit like they're in a tub. I wonder if that's because the caps have gone off spec? Anyway, it will be one of my next few upgrades. Maybe one of you kind folks can talk me through doing it myself?
  14. My RS62II's came in the other day. I've got them temporarlily in place. Due to the side ports, I drilled holes in the frame of the columns. Eventually, the column will be upholstered and the speaker hidden completely. I have to say, the improvement to the system was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect it, but they really make a nice contribution! So that's it...hope I don't buy another speaker for a looong time.
  15. I agree with Claude. The Dynamic EQ that comes with Audyssey is really incredible in what it does for my system. When you decide for new equipment make sure to get it.
  16. I didn't realize that about the European market for used Heritage.... Interestingly, I just spoke on the phone yesterday with the East Coast Sales Rep for Klipsch. He commented that the European market for new Heritage is higher than they can keep up with! We are fortunate to have the used market that we do! I'm sure you'll be pleased beyond measure with either of those Reference Series products.
  17. Bienvenue! My room is quite large, and two things I've learned. One, 7.2 makes a difference in a large room. And, the large Heritage speakers fill a big space better than the reference line. You don't state your use or your listening habits?
  18. I went XPA5 to avoid the "what if". I have every intention that this amp be a 20 year solution. At that point, the extra expense was easily justifiable whether I need it or not.
  19. Definetely try and find a Heresy or Academy for the center. You can likely get a pair of Heresy cheaper than an Academy, and it would be preferred anyway. I would suggest going all the way up to the RS62 to keep up with the Heresy. You can level match any speakers to each other and they will play nice together, however, if you go with the RS42, you'll be holding the Heresy back. If your tastes are for letting it rip, go with the 62. Not just my opinion, this was told to me just yesterday by a rep at Klipsch.
  20. Got an update here... I sold the KL650's and that's given me the funds to try a different path for my surrounds. Just tonight I picked up a pair of Heresy for the rear surrounds. They were 30 minutes from the house and at a fair price. I've got to say that the condition just couldn't be any nicer! See what you think. Do you see Heresy I's come up much in this condition? They came with the stands too. The bolts for the stands are still stapled to them in a plastic bag. The tonal match with the LaScala was an immediate improvement. Moreso than I anticipated. I consulted with the East Coast Sales Rep for Klipsch in regard to a dipole side surround, and his suggestion was that the RS62II has the most horsepower to run with the Heritage line. I really wanted to go in wall for the sides, but he (Frank) cautioned me that none of the in walls would keep up. He also said the THX line is too "soft" to match with Heritage. So, I'm left re-studying my side columns to see how I can fit in the 9" depth of the RS62II.
  21. I think often we make models sound like they are light years different in performance, when the reality is that most of them perform fairly well with subtle differences. There are large improvements to be had, but usually not within one or even two model upgrades. From the RF7, there are probably only Four speakers in the whole linup that would be considered a few models of upgrade. That would be the Jubes, Khorns, LaScalas and Belles. Those are the only models I see that would clearly separate themeselves from the 7's in obvious ways. The RC64 is not going to blow the RC7 out of the water. A LaScala center channel will. That being said, if you have a proper setup and treated room, you should not feel anything lacking in the 7's.
  22. Any low end performance in the Forte won't be comparable to adding even a modest subwoofer into the system. In other words, Heresy with a modest sub will be more potent in that respect. The mid range of the Forte is a clear advantage though. Forte now and add a sub in the future!
  23. Congrats! You've got a speaker solution there that could satisfy for a lifetime!
