  1. Any suggestions on a decent wheel for PS3 ? Heard the Logitech Driving Force isn't bad for the money.
  2. Free Wheelin Franklin, gotta love it. Back in my 12v car audio days I actually made a driver over extend so far that it would not return down into the magnet. It tore the spider and the voice coil sat to the side, what a sight to see and it wasn't from plugging it into 120v either, just raw USA 12v car audio amplifier power....
  3. Good deal with the auto sub set up. Safe to assume it's not the 900's remote that does this ?
  4. Wondering what the fellow members think. When watching a "stereo" TV show or listening to a "stereo" CD, what listening mode do others prefer ? Stereo as per broadcast/recording or let the AVR do it's thing and process the stereo signal into an artificial 5.1 ? Personally I try all the differert surround modes to see what works best for each show/cd. I've tabled this topic with some buddies and everyone has a different view so I'm throwing to the wolf pack here to see what happens seeing there is a combined level of real knowledge and opinions here..
  5. There or Best Buy will be my next destinations as Tiger Direct and the other discount stores advertise they have logitech wheels but once you gop there they have squat. I've found Formula 1 2007 for PS3 on Amazon.com . There should be an F1 2010 game released this year in September.
  6. I couldn't agree more, did the majority of hearing damage 20+ years ago when I was involved in the 12v car audio industry and IASCA. Those days are now history however some fond memories remain.
  7. Borrowed and older analog SPL meter just to see what I can hit and to find out what my follow entusiats are accomplishing. Not out to set any records however what have some of the others hit and using what media. On my first attempt used Nirvana Unplugged in New York, track 4 "The Man Who Sold The World" and max'd out at 108. The Onkyo wasn't falling apart and or clipping by any means but decided to shut down. My thought is the 120v coming out of the wall where its plugged in along with other components is not sufficient or the Onkyo is so sensitive that it will pick up a slight voltage fluction and say no more. Anyhow, what kind of DB levels are you guys hitting ????
  8. Just picked up my first gaming console, PS3 Slim 250gb. Main objective is to try and find a steering wheel/brakes and gas pedal assembly and then build THE seat by modifying a LazyBoy (seen one modified and drooling ever since). I'm not well versed in gaming consoles but was hoping for some input as to where I can get a steering wheel and pedal assembly for this unit. Had it all for my PC but it never worked as I wanted it to and from what I can gather are not compatible with PS3. Also the main game I want is Formula 1 2009 which is available on formula1.com but from what I can gather it's PAL ? Anyone else into F1 game and if so where are they sold this side of the pond.
  9. Need some ideas as to what CD's the family here likes to demo their prized possesions. Sound quality, recording quality etc.etc. Type of music is a non-issue, the sound is
  10. Deal is OFF. I was totally digusted when I seen them as I've seen better looking boat anchors(almost got misty eyed at the sight of them like an abused dog or something). Turns out they've been reconed twice, used at a record shop daily for years+ at 10+ hrs per day and prior to that some off shore woman used them for Karaoke. Was asking asking $450.00 each but came down to $400.00 even a piece. I told $400.00 for both maximum as I'd have needed the difference in wood filler etc. They were likely factory black but even that was difficult to determine with all the crap and wood hunks hanging off them. They were more of a safety hazard from all the splinters etc hanging from them than a rebuild project. Had the nerve to tell me that other LaScalas on sell sites are generally in far worse shape. I just laughed and said, See Yeah !!!
  11. I will be auditioning some used Lascalas that are for sale over the weekend. Seller claims that they're 10+ years old and the drivers have been reconed. Is this common with Klipsch drivers, as I had my EV's reconed seeing they were much older and still using the foam type surround. He used them for what sounds like home and recording studio application as they have castors (wheels) and handles on them. I don't want to get burnt but really want a pair and am a "little" concerned but this is sight unseen. Any suggestions on what I should keep an eye for prior to handing over the cash.
  12. Is this the 2009 Formula 1 game ??
  13. Trying to find out what year, condition etc but no replys.
  14. The opportunity exists. Haven't seen or auditioned them so wanted a rough idea as to the value before taking the next step. Need them like a hole in the head, BUT have always wanted a pair likely since I was 12.....,
  15. Anyone have a "ballpark" dollar figure as to how much a set of used Lascala's should sell for.
  16. Sounds good, that was also my intention to utilize for audio purposes only. Waiting on a Toshiba Bluray for video. Now I have to track down a copy of an SACD DSOTM.

  18. Didn't see it mentioned but "The Making of Dark Side of the Moon" is outstanding.
  19. The 905 senses that you're running a sub and won't allow them to go low. Only works in full range though. Found that I had better luck playing with speaker levels vs. x-over points.
  20. I run both the 20's and 30's and C-7 at Full Range seeing the receiver does it's thing and cuts them off accordingly reassigning the hard labour to the sub. My 20's are about 4.5 feet from my skull.
  21. I use the 30's for the front and the 20's for surround. Threw in the EV Interface C's as rear surround and I'm having a great time .
  22. In your case did it restrict or limit DB/Volume levels ? Did with mine to the point of where I wasn't even able to properly audition the new setting especially on Satelite. Didn't bother pursuing and just went back to manual once I review the settings and adjusted same. I agree with the settings for distances etc. it was very accurate in that department.
  23. Thought I'd ask if anyone can provide some thoughts or opinions on the Audessey Speaker Calibration system. Spent a few hours over the weekend with a tri-pod and the works. NOT impressed with the automatic results or the decisions that Audessey has made on my behalf, Of course I can bypass but has anyone else had any issues with Audessey, is it BS ?
  24. Got to love it a plan comes together..... Nice score !!
