All that is required is a screwdriver. Very simple procedure. I or others could walk you through if you want to give it a try before selling.

Great looking speakers. They will not last long. GLWS. If you were closer I would be on my way.

  6. Sorry to hear about everyone's issues. Klipsch needs to stand up and correct this issue. Glad I still use old school technology like wired forte's, CD, vinyl and AM/FM airwaves for all of my music. The only time I am out of business is when the "Grid" goes down.
  7. Just for shits and giggles I added two to my cart in eBay, and total came to $3,520 + $200 shipping. So, he is asking $1,760.00 a speaker, or he does not know how to create a listing. Either way I would double check with seller prior to purchasing.
  8. Does he have two sets, or is he asking $1,760.00 a piece??? 🤢
  9. Find a nice used pair of forte IV and you are set for life. They are more than enough speaker for any environment. Bass is tighter and punchier than the Cornwall INMHO. After 30 years of owning forte II, I upgraded to the forte IV about 6 months ago. I auditioned Cornwall IV prior to purchasing and still prefer the forte IV over. As others mentioned optimal distance from rear wall depending on environment is 6-12 inches. Mine are 9 inches from rear wall. Whoever told you that they needed to be 3 feet out from the rear wall is completely insane. Believe it or not the footprint of the forte is actually smaller than that of the Heresy. True the forte stands taller, but the depth and width are slightly less by about a quarter inch. GLWS. Don't shy away from a used mint pair. That is the route I went saved myself $1,500.00 with taxes. Came with boxes, inserts, etc. They were only 4 weeks old. Twas a full day drive round trip, but well worth the savings. Do not worry about 10 year warranty. You would have to do something real STUPID to have to exercise. Deals like the one below can be had within a reasonable driving distance from you if you are patient. (1) Marketplace - Klipsch Forte 4 Lambs Wool Grills and original grills | Facebook

  12. Your Marantz is more than capable of driving any forte version to its full potential. In room efficiency of 99db requires only 1 watt of power. I owned forte II that I purchased new in 1992 until 6 months ago. I sold to a forum member. I purchased forte IV used, 4 weeks old, with all paperwork and shipping cartons etc. Absolutely flawless pair. As Fido said, the series IV is the best of the bunch with very tight punchy bass. Although they only go down to mid 30Hz, they sound an octave lower INMHO. Unless you want sub terranean bass no sub is required. I paid $3,500 for the pair I mentioned above. Unless you do something really STUPID you will never need to exercise the 10-year warranty. In other words, do not overlook a mint used pair. You can save $1,500.00 with taxes like I did. Good luck on your search.
