  1. Sorry for bumping an old thread guys but i thought this had some cool pictures in it. Two comments on the first picture , that amp is a beast!!! Secondly that dinosaur shirt is awesome, really need to get me one of those. And in the second picture... thats a lot of rf-7. Wonder if he is still rocking that system lol
  2. no it is time for franken-sevens! Well actually those cherries must be saved at all costs.
  3. Youth post that picture if you can, this is interesting. woofers on either side in original box. I emailed him too if you dont get a chance
  4. Actually i think a 3rd rf-7 on its side might be better than a rc-7. I say that as i remember someone on this forum converted one for a center for their parents. This is a shot in the dark but was it rivernuggets? I dont know maybe he turned the tweeter 90 degrees. Not having the woofers symmetrical to the tweeter would not be ideal but it wouldnt be a deal breaker.
  5. You would need to rework the crossover i imagine, not to mention it would probably change the imedance of the speaker. That does look cool though youthman thanks for that.
  6. lol... lets see the 4 or 5 woof rf-83 next
  7. I thought one of my velodyne subs was blown, actually just had to tighten the screws on the amp in the back as it was rattling when the bass hit.
  8. whoa, thats a home theater. I know what you mean about viewing height, my tv is relatively low but i still want it lower. Thanks for taking the time to upload the pic
  9. My first time with klipsch was a bit off kilter. I was selling a pair of quartets for a friend of the family. They were matched with a pioneer elite m-70 amp and c-70 pre (i believe). Should have sounded phenominal, i only heard local classic rock radio on it and i was like meh. Luckly i found a pair of rf-82 locally and got to spend some time with them, whew that was a close one.
  10. Hey please post a picture of your setup if you get a chance. Although maybe a step down from the lascala and belle after a couple of months you are going to think it was a step up. I think it is even a little psychological when such an amazing sound is coming from that beauty and the beast copper faced monster.
  11. Ive been blown away by some of the netflix hd quality. Very good for streaming. They have some 5.1 content but it is not in a hd codec. Kickass is of course SD and in stereo. Pretty darn good selection though for $8 a month.
  12. I am pretty sure the horn size (as well as tweeter) is the same on the rf-82ii and rf-62ii, as far as the higher frequencies go i am sure they are pretty much the same. Now i have never heard the rf-62ii but i used rf-82 for a full year. I always thought they were sort of the perfect speaker; reasonably priced, were big aggresive looking speakers without being mammoths that took over the whole room and lastly the bass on the rf-82 can be flat out awesome. Either the 62 or 82 would be a good choice but i would not go smaller. I have the rf-7ii now and as you can imagine i had a perfect idea of how my rf-82 sounded and what they were capable of and the rf-7ii just blew them and me away. I am not saying this just because i have the speaker and am a fanboy, the clarity uptop and the rediculous bass was unmatchable. The rf-63 or rf-83 would be similar to the rf-7ii if you could find those but then you would have to deal with finding an original rc-64
  13. I would never drive that far. With cost of gas and wear and tear on car it is just not worth it. I have considered like 10 hour round trips for speakers
  14. yeah good deal and if you already have a rc-64 then it is a no brainer. Sell some speakers if you have to but i think that would be a great step forward. Msrp on them was $2800, sorry youthman i couldnt help myself [:#]
  15. Triangle on blu-ray. Also just watched "They Live" on netflix streaming. " I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ***, and i am all out of bubblegum" ha pretty stupid movie but i am running out of movies i have not seen. The fighter was good if you have not scene that
  16. Is your religion Timbre Matched?
  17. what was the msrp for the CF-2s? Audioreview says the rf-7 were $2200 but does not give one for the cf-2s? Is your sons system hooked up to a tv or does he just do music? He is running that rotel 60wpc right?
  18. That was my "they accidently sent me a rc-64ii" they really knew how to take a hole out of my wallet because then i had to get the rf-7iis. What Steve said makes sense, is he a trusted technician? I just ask because like that other thread sort of illustrates i have called before and i think i got more of a customer service guy who was not a tech. That would be AWESOME if Trey responded so we can confirm that the rc-64ii is a tapered design (i don't mean to disregard your facts i just like to double check). Bill, isnt the last rc-64 have the crossover set between the left and right woofers instead of the outer and then inner ones? You know the tapered design makes sense because who wants overloading bass on your higher voice frequencies. Also referencehead, thanks for that website it is very interesting and funny in some cases to read that forum using the translater, btw people seem to love the RF-7ii over there. They also have a high regard for most klipsch products.
  19. those CF-2 look awesome , you need to keep buying speakers and posting pictures!
  20. I dont think the rc-64ii is timbre matched to anything but the rf-7ii, as confirmed by Amy. As far as improvement over the original rc-64, i really like that they went with a standard crossover between the woofers and tweeter. I would also like to hear specifically the change the larger tweeter has brought. I would be a little disappointed if klipsch stepped up the msrp but not the quality of product. As far as getting a receiver soon i am not too quick to settle on something. I bought a used older HK receiver a bit ago and it had some signal to noise ratio that i was just not feeling, or maybe it was a ground i could not eliminate but i did not like it. Also i bought an onkyo tx-sr705 only to find out the preouts were bad. I want to just stick to what i am really looking for and get a 5-channel amp and a pre/pro. The 2.0 system i have right now rocks for movies so i am in no hurry and i have that rc-64ii stashed away so i do not feel like i am falling behind with my system (lol). The receiver i am using as a preamp right now is from 1992 and is getting the job done!
  21. Gotcha good to know. Surprised at how much weight the rc-64ii dropped while still keeping the shielding.
  22. Would it not be bad to not have video shielding? Still wish i had cherry cabs but you can't go wrong with black. Listened to some music last week and was again very satisified with the bass in 2.0 using 125wpc marantz monoblock amps.
  23. I had a low end dps-10 velodyne that served me well. Sold it for like $150 , wish i would have kept it for a secondary 2.1
  24. I never recommend a receiver without preouts. You said you dont need them, i guess i am lost on this one.
